(chuckling): Hey.
When did you get back into town? Uh, um just a few months ago.
I'm sorry.
You're you're all right? Oh, no.
No, no, no.
I'm so sorry about that.
I I wasn't looking at my phone.
I swear.
It's just pregnancy brain.
Wow.
You're, uh (laughing): I know, right? Wow.
Congratulations.
Thanks, thanks.
Um, ready to pop soon.
(chuckles) Yeah, I can see that.
Uh So, do you know what you're having? Yeah.
Boy.
Wow.
Really? That's great.
Yeah.
Tory and I are already nailing everything down at the house.
(chuckles) Yeah, that's probably not a bad idea.
Yeah.
Um I-I have an appointment to get to, but I I would love to catch up sometime and hear about Iraq.
People say you're a hero.
Yeah, I don't know about that, but I-I would love to catch up sometime.
Okay.
Uh, I still have the same number.
(laughing): I'm sorry I almost killed you.
Oh, no, it's all right.
I-I need to be more alert next time.
Well, it's good to see you.
Yeah, you too.
We'll get that coffee soon.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
(chuckles) (horn honks) Bye.
All right.
Yo.
Who are you? Hey, yo, it's okay.
She's my sister.
Oh, how about an intro? How about not? Hey.
Get up.
Chill, sis.
Get up now.
Ow! Ow.
Get off me! - What the hell is wrong with you? - We're getting out of here.
Screw off, Tani.
Are you kidding me? You don't think I'll hit you? Vice is moving in on this place any minute, so we have to go now.
You want me to bounce? How's that gonna look? You want to go back in there? You want to get swept up in the raid? Do you understand that once you're in the system I can't help you? (vehicles approaching) Let's go.
Now.
Get on the bike now! [Hawaii Five-O theme song plays.]
Hawaii Five-O 8x07 Kau Ka 'Onohi Ali'i I Luna font color="#FF55 Auntie, good morning.
Can I get a couple, please? Maybe one of each of these.
Perfect.
Keep the change, okay? Mahalo.
Hey, yo.
Hey.
Steve.
What's up, brutha? How are you, man? Good to see you.
Mahalo, brutha.
Welcome back.
- Thank you.
- Where's your girl? Where's Kono? (sighs) She's not coming.
What? I just I just talked to her yesterday.
She was telling me how excited she was to get home.
Yeah, she was.
Then, this morning, I found her on the lanai.
I could tell she hadn't slept all night.
I knew why.
I'm sorry, Adam.
Yeah, she said a lead panned out in Boulder City and if she didn't follow up, she'd regret it.
I could have followed her there like I've been doing, but sitting in a motel room, eating out of a vending machine, waiting for your wife to return (chuckles) it's not as glamorous as it sounds.
Yeah.
Yeah, I figured it was time to come back home and try to have some semblance of a life.
This, uh this is gonna end.
You know that, right? Yeah.
That's what she said.
Well, it's good to see you, brutha.
Yeah, it's good to see you.
I guess these are for you.
Oh, hey.
Double leis.
Huh? Lucky me.
All right, just get you straight.
Aloha.
Aloha, brutha.
Welcome back.
You hungry? I don't know.
Coach served a bag of these miniature pretzels.
I think I had six of them.
Good.
I'm starving, too.
Let's get out of here.
Let's go find some grinds.
All right? Sounds good.
ADAM (sighs): After all we've been through, I figured she'd want to do everything she could to be together.
This thing she's doing up there it's more than a job.
You know that, Adam.
It's her legacy.
When she gets done with it, she's gonna retire, and you two are gonna start making babies.
That would be nice.
Yeah.
You know, a while back, she thought she might be pregnant.
I didn't know that.
Yeah, I guess it wasn't meant to be.
You know, my mother says everything happens when it's supposed to happen.
Yeah, your mother's a wise woman.
Well, I'm pretty sure she was quoting a fortune cookie.
(laughs) You don't cut her any slack, do you? Hello no.
Doris? No.
Danny sometimes; Doris never.
We're not talking about my mother.
We're talking about you and Kono.
And all these babies you're gonna make that are gonna call me Uncle Steve.
Okay, okay.
All right.
Uncle Steve.
One step at a time, brutha, okay? Let's just get her back to the island.
Right now I'll settle for that.
I got you.
(panting) (passing vehicle honks horn) ADAM: I-I'm telling you, trust me on this-- forget about the brick and mortar.
Get yourself a food truck.
If it doesn't work out, you can always drive it off a cliff and collect on the insurance.
You lost your mind since you were away? You think I need more time in a moving vehicle with Detective Danny Williams? (chuckling) Yeah, I didn't consider that.
How is Danny anyway? He's all right.
He's cranky.
He's the crankiest person I ever met.
Yeah, that sounds about right.
Hey, did I hear you got a dog? I got a dog.
His name's Eddie.
He's unbelievable.
I thought you were a cat person.
I was, but I don't know, he did something to me.
I think he did a Jedi mind trick on me.
Yeah.
I'm not that into cats anymore.
(cell phone ringing) I gotta meet this dog.
Hang on a second.
Yeah, Junior, what's up, man? Hey, sir.
I'm outside the Oahu S & L on Hauoli.
This may be nothing, but I see four guys entering with empty duffels.
Looks like something's about to go down.
All right, stay put.
I'm on the way, all right? Yes, sir.
Hang on.
(tires squealing) Everyone, move! Move to the window! (patrons screaming) Move to the window! Go! On the floor! Face down! Now! Everyone on the ground! Everyone on the ground now! Now! You move, you get shot! Understood? Now, where's the bank manager? TANI: If he was arrested, that record would follow him around for the rest of his life.
No doubt.
And if it was my family, I'd have probably done the same thing, and I'm not saying that you're wrong.
I'm just not sure everyone would agree.
Am I gonna be fired? Well, that depends on who sees it.
You know your brother was lucky, right? (sighs) You ain't gonna always be there to have his back and clean up his mess.
Before my dad died I promised him I'd look out for Koa.
Yeah, that's a tough one.
But, um, take it from this dad.
Sometimes you gotta let people make their own mistakes.
That's the only way you can really protect them.
What do you think McGarrett's gonna say? (sighs) About what? Yo.
Hey.
They still inside the bank? Yeah.
Where's their car? It's right over there.
Hold that for me.
STEVE: I'll be right back.
Hey.
Junior Reigns.
Adam Noshimuri.
Hey, you're Kono's husband.
Yeah.
What, you guys back on the island? Just me.
Hey, nice leis.
You got a cop's gut, kid.
There's at least eight hostages in that bank.
They're all tied up.
Doesn't look like any of them have been hurt.
All right, I'm gonna go in.
I want you to call Captain Grover.
Tell him what's going on.
Shouldn't we wait? I mean, they got their car there.
Eventually, they'll come out.
Pretty sure it's safe to say that they're all armed in there, all right? They come outside, they see cops, what happens? Right, you got open warfare in the street.
The only advantage that we have right now is that they don't know we're out here.
Am I the only one who finds this strange? Wouldn't you at least leave someone in the car, engine running? Well, maybe they're new at this.
Yeah, well, if they're new at this, means they're even more dangerous.
Junior just called me.
He told me that he, Adam and McGarrett are at a bank robbery in progress right now.
Come on, let's go.
Okay.
I thought Junior was supposed to be in class.
GROVER: He's bucking for extra credit.
Let's go.
Captain Grover's on his way over with HPD.
Good.
They're our backup.
So we wait for them? No.
The longer we wait, the greater the risk of somebody inside getting hurt.
Hooyah.
So, how do we breach? We don't do anything.
I'm going in.
You guys are waiting out here for backup.
Yeah, but, sir, this Hey, forget it, kid.
You're just wasting your breath.
Hey.
You just sounded like Danny Williams then.
You know that? Yeah.
Sorry about that.
If you walk in through those front doors, they're gonna see you coming.
Who said anything about going in the front doors? What's the plan? Wait for backup.
Wait for backup.
Keep an eye on him.
He's a grown adult.
Yeah, he's a grown-ass Navy SEAL.
(sighs) (hushed): Are you out of your mind? What did I say to you? I'm more helpful in here than I am out there.
I don't like to wait.
You don't like to wait.
Where'd you get that gun? Uh, your gun safe under your seat.
It was locked.
Yeah, it was.
There you are.
Are you serious? I turned my back, and he was gone.
I figured he went after you.
Just figured you'd, uh you'd follow him down here? Yeah, you told me to keep an eye on him.
That's what I'm trying to do.
I don't supposed I could get either of you two to, uh, wait right here, could I? You got an extra gun? That's for protection only.
You guys pull those triggers only if somebody else is shooting at you.
Otherwise, they're paperweights.
You understand me? Yes, sir.
Copy that.
Move in.
Shh, shh.
(hushed): I'm Steve McGarrett from Five-O.
Where are they? They went down to the vault.
Took the manager with them.
Don't move.
All right, get up.
Listen to me.
I want you to untie all these people.
Get them out of the building.
HPD's on the way.
Let's go.
Moving.
He alive? Yeah, he is.
They're gone, Steve.
If we didn't see them leave, then where'd they go? STEVE: In there.
(explosion) (electrical buzzing, high-pitched ringing) (panting) Guys.
Guys? Junior.
- Junior.
- Yeah.
You all right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm good.
I think.
Come on.
Adam.
Adam? Yeah.
I'm good.
Sir, can you hear me? Yeah.
My name's Commander Steve McGarrett of the Five-O task force.
You hear what I'm saying to you? Yeah.
I need you to get up.
Can you get up? I think so.
Come on.
(groaning) I need you to open that vault.
Can you open that vault? Yeah.
All right, let's go.
Junior.
On me.
Adam, once he unlocks that door, I need you to open it.
You're going upstairs.
You're gonna get medical attention right now.
Go.
Don't stop moving.
Go.
Go.
Well, that explains why they left the car empty.
STEVE: They pre-dug a tunnel.
All right, you guys get topside.
Find Grover.
Tell him I'm in pursuit.
I'm coming with you.
No, you're not.
You're going with Adam.
All right, you're gonna find Jerry, you're gonna have him track my cell, and you're gonna follow me aboveground.
You understand me, Junior? That's an order.
Yes, sir.
Be careful in there.
Go.
(water dripping) Jerry, it's Adam.
JERRY: Hey, man.
Uh, not a good time.
I'm Working a robbery in progress.
I know.
I was with McGarrett when he got word.
Now I'm with Junior.
You guys okay? Yeah, we're both fine.
But you need to let everyone know that the four men who were in the bank are now underground and moving on foot.
And McGarrett? He's gone after them.
Can you track his cell? Okay, got him.
He's under Bethel, moving north.
(tires squealing, siren whooping) Let's go! (officers shouting indistinctly) Well, this looks like a good sign.
Yeah, that's good, but what about our guys? Where the hell are they? GROVER: Hey.
Captain Lou Grover, Five-O.
I'm looking for Commander McGarrett.
Where is he? He and the other two guys went down to the vault.
But I looked, and they're gone.
Commander McGarrett isn't answering.
All right, Tani, I need you to call Jerry and find him.
When you're done with that, pull all the cameras in this place.
I want to know exactly what the hell went on in this bank.
EMT's gonna be here in a couple minutes.
You'll have that looked at.
Thank you, sir.
(horn honking) You okay? I had a test this morning.
You're in school? Police academy.
I think they'll understand.
I hope so.
I'm kind of skating on thin ice.
(cell phone ringing) Jerry, where's Steve? JERRY: He just banked right, and he's heading east.
But that street you're on ends at the next intersection.
You're about to run out of road.
That's all right.
We'll make one.
Watch out! (horn honking) (tires squealing) McGarrett's on foot pursuit in the sewer.
I'll get men down there now.
And we'll post guys at every access point.
Hey, what about Junior and Adam? Where are they? (clattering) (rapid gunfire, bullets ricocheting) (man groans, body thuds) Officer down.
I got an officer down.
10-15.
I repeat, officer down.
Does anybody read me? Officer down in here.
Please, somebody.
JERRY: Commander, it's Jerry.
I got a lock on your position.
STEVE: Good.
Get me out of here.
Okay, head back the way you came.
20 yards, there's an access door.
Go through that, and inside, there's a staircase that'll lead you to the street.
STEVE: Have Adam and Junior meet me there, all right? JERRY: You got it, Commander.
Adam, I'm sending you the coordinates for the street access point.
ADAM: Copy that.
(horn honking) (horn honking) - Out of the way, guys! Out of the way! - Hey, move! (horn honking) Out of the way! Look out! Run! Out of the way! Move, move, move! (tires squealing) Fence.
Hang on.
(horn honking) Medical attention right now.
Right.
He's lost a lot of blood.
Watch his head.
Let's go, let's go.
We got a cop in back.
He's hurt pretty bad.
How's he doing back there? I need something to stop this bleeding.
(siren wailing) Tie it up really tight.
Come on, man! Come on! STEVE: Let's go! Let's go.
WOMAN: Stabilize his head.
Got him.
Two, three.
MAN: Does he have a pulse? WOMAN: I've got a pulse.
Let's move quick! (rapid beeping) Put him in Trauma 1.
Let's move! Pulse ox down to 50.
(prolonged beep) He's coding.
Start compressions.
Charge to 300.
(whirring) Charged.
Clear.
Clear.
Continue compression.
What's the rhythm? Still in V-tach.
Charge.
(whirring) Come on.
Charged.
Clear.
What's the rhythm? Still in V-tach.
Charge.
(whirring) Charged.
Clear.
What's the rhythm? Asystole.
(prolonged beep continues) Let's call it.
Coding.
What? Time of death: 1337.
(door opens) Hey, Adam.
Hey.
- Are you guys okay? - Yeah.
How about the cop? What happened? JUNIOR: It's friendly fire.
He was down in the sewer, and McGarrett thought it was a hostile.
TANI: Oh, my God.
Yeah.
Body's in there.
(sighs) Hey, you mind if I sit down with you, man? It was dark down there, man.
There's no way you could've known.
No, man.
I messed up.
Don't do that.
Didn't have a visual.
Steve, listen to me.
It was an accident.
The guy was trained.
He should have identified himself as a cop.
Lou I didn't have a visual.
How's McGarrett? All right, Jerry, what do we know? Well, HPD's sending over footage from the bank, but I just got the update from Duke.
Looks like these guys did some hard-core advance planning.
They disabled the alarm before they even set foot in the building.
Eric thinks they killed it sometime late last night.
That's impressive.
Yeah, but not as impressive as their haul.
Initial report is they made off with ten million in cash.
Ten million in cash? That's a hell of a big reserve for one branch.
Yeah, and the weird thing is that it was all deposited yesterday.
So the robbers knew about it, meaning that it was an inside job.
Someone from the bank tipped them off.
Yeah.
JUNIOR: Wait, hang on.
I'm still stuck on ten million.
I mean, I mean who deposits that kind of paper? ADAM: Organized crime.
You talking from experience? Yeah.
JERRY: His dad was, like, the OG of OGs.
Yakuza? Yeah.
That's badass, man.
GROVER: You can start a fan club later.
For right now, can we focus? Because, if Adam is right, we need to start looking into everybody inside that bank.
This thing has ties to organized crime, then this is way bigger than a bank robbery.
You're talking money laundering? Absolutely.
JERRY: I'll get into that, but as far as who tipped off the thieves, I would start with this guy.
His name is Bobby Akamu.
He's been a bank teller at this branch for four years.
Why do you like him for the inside man? Because, when CSU processed the crime scene, they found his prints inside the vault.
But he works there.
Why is that unusual? GROVER: Now, according to the bank manager, nobody in the entire bank went in that vault yesterday.
And you being a bank teller, that means you're hardly ever in the vault to begin with.
So we're curious to know how your prints ended up in there.
I don't know.
I mean maybe I left them the last time I was in there.
(imitates buzzer) Try again.
Who do you think you're talking to? Security at the mall? We got people working in labs, and our labs tell us that those prints are fresh.
They're less than 24 hours old.
We know you were in the vault, all right? We know you were in there this morning.
What were you doing in there? That's what we want to know.
What, were you planting bomb materials for your friends? What? GROVER: Hey, look at me.
Listen to me.
A cop is dead.
What, do you think this is going away? That it's like a traffic stop, a busted taillight? Everybody on the force and their mama wants a piece of you.
So, even if you walk out of here, I guaran-damn-tee you somebody's gonna walk right up to you and Jack Ruby that ass, and I can't imagine there's a judge on this rock that'll do anything to the shooter except pat him on the back.
- I didn't kill him.
- You didn't have to, you knothead.
You created the circumstances for which now a man is dead.
That means this is on you, whether you pulled the trigger or not.
JUNIOR: Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Hang on a sec.
What's up? Is that, uh Oh, my God.
Hang on.
TANI: You're kidding.
JERRY: What, you recognize that guy? Yeah.
(lock buzzes, door opens) Hey.
Something you need to see.
What do you got? Look at this.
TANI: It's the cop from the sewer.
Except he's obviously not a cop.
GROVER: Well, I'll be damned.
JUNIOR: They must have changed into HPD uniforms inside the vault.
ADAM: After that, all they had to do was get up to the street and blend in with all the other cops in the area.
(bell dings) Tani, go talk to Noelani.
Have her run prints on that body, okay? What about the bank teller, Akamu? He give us anything? No, he ain't talking.
If Akamu really is the inside man, he's probably more afraid of his crew than you guys.
Yeah, he probably is.
Why don't we use that? How do you mean? We go talk to Akamu and tell him we got this guy in custody.
And we'll tell him we're about to put the word on the street that Akamu's the one that gave this guy up.
Oh, that sound like fun.
Yeah, you like that? Heading up a floor.
(bell dings) This is Commander McGarrett.
I want the Palace sealed right now.
(alarm blaring) STEVE: Knees, knees! Get on your knees! Everybody on your knees.
Show me your hands.
Keep your hands where I can see them.
Nobody move.
We must have just missed them.
Doors.
Lou.
(heavy gunfire continues) Let's get down there.
Lou.
Hey! Let me see them hands.
Let me see 'em.
Get your ass out here.
Hands.
Hands where I can see 'em right now.
Behind your head.
Interlock your fingers.
Don't move.
Oh.
That was easy.
GROVER: Yeah, well, don't get used to it, kid.
The bad guys don't usually come to us.
Copy that.
What's up, kid? Are you all right? Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, I'm good.
No, I was just thinking-- you know, we never found out who deposited that money into the bank.
Oh, yeah.
Well, you can solve that on a little something we like to call “tomorrow.
” (chuckles) Yeah, I guess.
But wait, um, so I did a a deep dive on the bank robber, and it turns out that Five-O's crossed paths with the guy who executed the bank teller.
Dave Lockhart.
Okay.
Doesn't ring a bell.
Yeah, well, he was before both of our times.
The guys questioned him in connection to a murder back in 2011.
He alibied out, but then was convicted for some other stuff, and then made parole about a year ago.
So he's a repeat guest in rendition.
Well, I guess that explains why he, uh knew where the bank teller was.
Mm-hmm.
You do realize that cops sleep, too, right? Let me give you some advice, kiddo.
Get it while you can.
I will.
I will.
Me (sighs) I'm gonna go home, hug my wife and soak my feet.
Warm me some milk and fall asleep watching some old (yawns) reruns.
Damn.
(chuckling): Sound like an old man, don't I? No.
Yes.
(chuckles) Yeah, well, that's 'cause I am an old man.
And that'll be our little secret.
Thank you again for this morning.
The-the video.
What video? Right.
I know that I've I've had a couple missteps.
You know, the-the the Aaron Wright thing, and then now this with Koa.
Um, and I just I want you to know it's not gonna happen again.
Child, please.
Of course it's gonna happen again.
Probably happen before I leave here tonight.
You're new.
Listen.
(sighs) This may come as a shock to you, but, uh I was young once.
(laughs) New on the job.
Made my share of mistakes.
I just don't want to let you guys down.
Well, I don't see that happening.
I mean, Commander McGarrett, he-he trusts you.
He has a lot of faith in you.
We all do.
Cheer up.
Come on, let's go.
I'll walk you out.
Okay.
Thank you.
I just, um There's I just have to do one thing, so I'm gonna stay.
Well, as my grandfather used to say “Bye.
” (chuckles) See you tomorrow.
Bye.
STEVE: All right, buddy.
Here we are, man.
We made it.
Finally, home sweet home.
Sorry about your luggage.
I guess I officially boned that airport pickup, didn't I? (chuckles) Next time, I think I'll take a cab.
Yeah.
I don't blame you.
Hey, listen, um I know it's not the first time, but I really appreciated you having my back today.
Thank you.
That's what ohana is for, right? Right.
And, uh I'm sorry about this.
(sighs) Triage.
I get it.
STEVE: Okay.
Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Well, you're just you're not taking these? They're all yours.
Don't think I won't wash the blood out and wear them out to a nice dinner.
(chuckling): Knock yourself out, man.
All right.
You all right? (sighs) Yeah.
Look, man, you got my number.
You want to get a drink, hang out, whatever, just give me a call, yeah? Thanks, man.
(cell phone ringing) Hey, Tani, what's up? Hi.
Um, sorry to bother you.
I just, um Can we meet up somewhere? Yeah.
You okay? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm-I'm good.
I just, uh Something happened this morning, and I think I think you should know about it.
All right.
I'll be right there.
Hey, baby.
Here you go.
Oh, look at you.
MAN: All right, turn this way.
Say something to the folks at home.
Like what? (laughs) MAN: I don't know, say something nice about each other.
Um L-Layla, I, uh think you're smart and beautiful.
And I'm going to miss you like crazy.
I-I don't know how I'm going to get through boot camp without you, but I am not wearing waterproof eyeliner.
Do not make me cry.
Um I-I just want to say thank you.
I want to say thank you for being you.
Thank you for being my best friend.
And, uh, thank you for helping me through calculus and letting me cheat off you during the final.
MAN: Hey, what was that? (Junior and Layla laughing) Uh, my boo's going into the Navy.
I'm so proud of him.
He's gonna He's gonna look so handsome in his white uniform.
Uh, how long is training again? Eight weeks? Yeah.
If we can get you through calculus, we can get you through that.
Semper Fi.
Baby, that's the Marines.
Really? Oh.
Yeah.
What do you guys say? Hooyah.
Hooyah.
Like like: “Who ya gonna marry one day”.
(laughs) MAN: All right, on the count of three, say “hooyah!” JUNIOR and LAYLA: Okay.
One, two, three.
BOTH: Hooyah!
