He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (1983) s01e17 Episode Script

Daimar the Demon

1 [dramatic music.]
I am Adam, Prince of Eternia and defender of the secrets of Castle Grayskull.
This is Cringer, my fearless friend.
Fabulous secret powers were revealed to me the day I held aloft my magic sword and said, "By the power of Grayskull!" [chorus.]
He-Man I have the power! [roaring.]
[He-Man.]
Cringer became the mighty Battle Cat, and I became He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe.
Only three others share this secret: our friends the Sorceress, Man-At-Arms, and Orko.
Together we defend Castle Grayskull from the evil forces of Skeletor.
[cackling.]
He-Man [dramatic music.]
Hey! [sighs.]
This is boring.
I wish I had someone to play with.
With the help of the Sorceress' Book of Magic, I've made a fantastic discovery.
My equations and the Sorceress' spells prove another universe, The Dark Dimension, exists very close to ours.
This closeness is what keeps the delicate balance between science and sorcery on Eternia.
Could the barrier ever break down? Let's hope not.
That thing looked hungry.
I know just how it feels.
Let's eat.
[lively music.]
I wonder if there's something to play with in here.
I'm tired of playing alone.
Maybe he wants to play.
From the darkest dimension to the brightness of day, Daimar the Demon, please come out and play.
[giggling.]
Wow! It worked! Hey, let's go outside and play.
[giggling.]
[mysterious music.]
What was that? What was what? It felt cold, like a door opening.
[Marlena.]
Oh! [dish shatters.]
[dishes clatter.]
Since when is this place haunted? What brought that on? Magic.
And I think I know who may be at the bottom of this.
Aha.
Now, where's Orko? [Man-At-Arms.]
Orko! Orko! [Orko.]
Uh-oh.
Looks like I'm in trouble.
[giggling.]
I know a place we can hide.
Look.
The picture of Daimar is gone.
Someone has summoned Daimar the Demon from the Dark Dimension.
And I think you were right about Orko.
We'd better find him soon.
According to this, Daimar will spin a cocoon, and when he comes out, his army of demons will come through a pan-dimensional rift to conquer Eternia.
Adam, we need help.
By the power of Grayskull! [chorus.]
He-Man [chorus.]
He-Man Aw, never a moment's rest.
I have the power! [roaring.]
Daimar has to be found and sent back to the Dark Dimension.
Yes.
His presence is causing all these strange things to happen.
We'll bring him back.
Let's go.
He-Man He-Man, is something wrong? I'll tell you all about it on the way to Castle Grayskull.
- Grayskull? - Yes.
I'm hoping the Sorceress can help me find Orko.
[roars.]
[thunder booming.]
[dark music.]
You sent for me, Skeletor? Yes.
My instruments show unusual power surges near Randor's palace.
I want you to investigate this.
[Evil-Lyn shudders.]
What is this? You'll pay for this, you witch.
I didn't do it.
You didn't.
But who did? I don't know.
These power surges are changing reality.
They drained my strength for a moment.
I must have this power.
Find it for me, and quickly! I willbut for me.
Not for you.
[chorus.]
He-Man [thunder rumbling.]
[thunder rumbling.]
At last, my Spell of Liquid Light is almost finished.
[warbling tone.]
It's ruined! He-Man, something is draining my power.
[chorus.]
He-Man The Sorceress is calling me.
Come to Grayskull! We're on our way, Sorceress.
Hurry, Battle Cat! I hope He-Man's having better luck searching for Orko than we've had.
[Marlena.]
Evil-Lyn! [cackles.]
Your luck just ran out.
I can't move.
We've detected strange power surges coming from here.
What's that? The Book of Magic.
That must be the source of the power.
[cackles.]
I'll be back when I've mastered it.
Thank goodness.
We can move again.
But there may be no way to stop Evil-Lyn.
It's only a little farther to Grayskull.
You'll be safe there.
Oh, I'm so sleepy.
[muttering.]
Okay, we'll stop and rest.
[yawns.]
Good idea, Daimar.
[Orko snoring.]
[wind howls.]
Vines aren't supposed to do that.
[Teela.]
Tell them that.
[He-Man.]
Let's not hang around.
[chorus.]
He-Man Ha-ha! Here's the spell I need.
Now, Skeletor, we'll see how powerful you really are.
What do you want? Your power, Skeletor.
And now I will have it! Evil-Lyn, I am not amused.
[Skeletor.]
I think you're hiding something, witch.
And I'm going to find out what.
[chorus.]
He-Man [Orko snoring.]
Daimar? I guess he's still sleepy.
If what you've told me is true, witch, soon I will rule Eternia.
[cackling.]
All of Eternia is being affected by the power surges.
[Man-At-Arms.]
The City of Eternos! It's in ruins! [Marlena.]
My goodness.
[Randor.]
The effects seem to be worsening.
They are, Your Majesty, and they'll continue to until we find Orko.
[chorus.]
He-Man [Battle Cat panting.]
[Battle Cat roars.]
[He-Man.]
We're almost to Castle Grayskull.
[roaring.]
Now what? [monster continues roaring.]
[roars.]
[footsteps patter.]
We were lucky that time.
I'll say.
Let's get out of here before our luck changes.
[chorus.]
He-Man [snoring.]
Daimar Daimar? [chorus.]
He-Man [thunder booming.]
[chorus.]
He-Man By the power of Grayskull, I command the Jaw Bridge open! [chorus.]
He-Man If Orko's not here, the Sorceress will know where he is.
I hope she knows what that is.
Teela! Battle Cat! Get the Sorceress! Sorceress! [Battle Cat roars.]
[Sorceress.]
Teela, here.
[growls softly.]
He-Man is trapped by the Jaw Bridge.
[gasps.]
I cannot help.
[wind howling.]
[Battle Cat growls.]
[Sorceress.]
There are visitors outside: one who searches for you, and the one for whom you search.
[growling.]
Daimar, you've led us a long chase.
Yes.
[laughs.]
We do what our destinies demand.
[demons howl and screech.]
An energy field! [Daimar growling.]
Who are you? I am Daimar, King of the Dark Dimension.
Take him.
His power must be mine.
[growls.]
Not bad.
Now try this.
[cackles.]
Come to me, demons! Eternia is ours.
[demons howl and screech.]
Not yet, it isn't, Daimar.
[Daimar roars.]
[Daimar roars.]
[thud.]
[roars.]
I cannot control Daimar, so I will conquer him.
[Daimar growling.]
Now, little nuisance, this will keep you out of my way.
[cackles.]
This bolo should hold him.
[chorus.]
He-Man You haven't had the last laugh yet, Daimar.
[chorus.]
He-Man Anybody want to buy a used bolo? [Daimar.]
Enough of this.
I can't break free.
[Orko.]
Daimar, stop! Orko, get back.
You're my friend.
How can you attack us? It is my destiny.
[He-Man.]
No, Daimar.
Daimar, you're wrong.
You can create your own destiny.
You can change if you really want to.
[growls.]
[He-Man.]
You and Orko are friends.
Wouldn't you rather have a life filled with friends, being with those who really care about you for yourself instead of those who use you for their own selfish, violent reasons? [growls.]
[He-Man.]
Think, Daimar.
Think.
I don't like this, Skeletor.
He-Man, you are a fool.
Daimar was not born to think only to serve his superiors.
He will follow my orders.
- [Daimar growls.]
- Is that true, Daimar? You have an opportunity to change your destiny.
Don't pass it up.
[growls.]
Perhaps we can help Daimar make up his mind.
The lightI can't see.
This freeze ray will hold him until we get him back to Snake Mountain.
[Skeletor.]
What? Teela, Orko, hurry.
Daimar, break out of the stun field.
You can do it! We've got to break loose.
Use the freeze ray on He-Man.
[Skeletor.]
Now you've got me mad, He-Man.
[Daimar growling.]
[growls.]
[Skeletor.]
Join me, Daimar.
We'll rule Eternia together.
[Daimar growls.]
I choose my own destiny, Skeletor, and it is not with the likes of you.
No! Time to go for a ride, Skeletor.
A long one.
[Daimar growls.]
You were right, He-Man.
My destiny is mine.
I would like you for a friend.
I'd like that.
Don't forget me! No, little friend, I will not forget you.
But now I must return to my dimension.
We will all meet again.
[demons howling.]
[boom.]
[Battle Cat growling.]
[shimmering tone.]
I sure feel good about everything.
Well, you should.
Today you found something very precious.
I did? What? A friend.
Well, that Daimar was really quite a fellow, wasn't he? Orko had no idea just what he was getting into with his mixed up magic spell.
But he soon found out that he'd let something loose he couldn't handle.
Now, we know that in real life there aren't any magic spells or demons, but there are problems, and just like Orko, sometimes you'll find you've got one that's too big for you to handle.
At times like that, remember there are a lot of people out there who really care about you, so talk to them.
Telling them what's wrong is the first step toward making things right.
[upbeat music.]
