In The Club (2014) s01e04 Episode Script

Episode 4

Your dad's been in an accident.
It'd kill Susie if we got together.
Or if she found out how our baby was really conceived.
What have I got?! Nothing! Except for two children.
Who hate you! Whose baby is it, Rosie? Nobody you know.
Have you taken leave of your senses? I want her gone by the time I'm back, d'you hear? You can't stay here.
Where else am I going to go? My place.
I got up in the middle of the night to go for a wee, I didn't turn the light on, cos A) I didn't know where it was, and B) I didn't want to wake anybody up.
So I ended up in the box room, groping around trying to feel for the loo.
Needless to say, it didn't end well.
Breakfast! Oh, thanks, you didn't need to do that.
I know I didn't, I wanted to Erm Just put it here.
Scrambled egg on toast.
You smell nice.
That'll be the aftershave.
Who's that for then? I'm meeting someone.
Oh, right, is she nice? It's Jude, I promised him some new football boots And the aftershave's for you.
Neil, I'm - I'm sorry about last night Don't be silly, these things happen.
I should've thought about it.
Anyway it's all sorted now, floors all mopped, no damage done.
I'm going to get some of those night lights, y'know, ones you plug in.
Did you manage some sleep? No, not much, I was a bit wound up and then I was just dropping off when I heard the baby cryin'.
Yeah, I heard her too.
Do you think it's all right me and Rosie staying here, cos I don't want to cause any trouble between you and Susie.
I think we crossed that line about eight months ago.
Yeah, but she doesn't know about that and she need never know.
She's going to go mental if she finds out we're staying here.
Why? You're carrying my baby, I'm not going to let you stay in some grotty seventh floor flat with no lift.
KIM! Kim! What is it? She's not breathing! What?! Oh, my God, is she alive? I'm sorry, I put her in bed with me and I must've fallen asleep.
It's all right, it's all right She was just having a good old kip, weren't you, darlin'? I thought I'd killed her, I thought I'd rolled over and squashed her.
No, no.
Sometimes their breath is so shallow you can't hear or see it.
Happened to me first time I looked after Jude.
Oh, that's my phone, will you get it for me? Yeah.
Don't take her in bed with you again though, Rosie.
I won't I'll never do it again.
I really thought I'd killed her.
Cos everybody I love seems to die.
Hey, don't be silly, your mum dying had nothing to do with you, she got cancer, that's not your fault It's for you I think it's the hospital.
Is it about my dad? I don't know, they won't tell me.
Hello? Right right.
Well, thanks for lettin' me know Do I just press the red button? Yeah, what did they say? They've moved me dad to the head trauma unit in Leeds.
Everything all right in there? No! It's worse than giving birth! Have you opened your bowels? God, no.
God knows what that'll be like.
I'll never go again.
They won't let you home till you've had a poo.
Oh, for God's sake.
I'll take some of that stuff then.
Honestly, it's like I'm sitting on red hot razor blades.
That's cos it's a bit of a battle ground down there and your stitches'll be tightening.
I daren't even look.
No, I wouldn't.
I don't know why I had to have stitches, I didn't with my other two.
Well, were they smaller babies? Yeah.
Kyle was 7lb 2 and Katie was 6lb 12, she came early.
Well, there you go then, Sonny's a big lad, 8lb 7, it's a good weight that.
Come on, I'll get you your Lactulose and do you want me to run you a bath? No.
I just want to feel normal again.
Urgh! Look at the state of me, I've aged ten years.
I'll probably never have sex again anyway.
Stop it, of course you will.
This time next week, you'll be at home, your stitches will've dissolved - with your baby, eh? Now come on, let's see how Jasmin's getting on, eh? Yeah.
Right, I'm off.
Oh! Sorry.
I'm so sorry.
I should've locked the door.
It's not your fault.
What? Nothin' You just look amazing, that's all I look bloody enormous.
You're beautiful, you know that? So when will we know? It's not a case of that, it's about reaching certain milestones, really.
It depends on the extent of the oxygen deprivation.
But she WILL be normal, I mean she'll be able to walk and talk, won't she? Honestly, it's impossible to know at this stage.
Babies that have had poor Apgar scores and pH readings sometimes go on to surprise us all and do really well.
She got over her infection.
Yeah, and the next thing is to get her breathing by herself.
You're not going to take her off the ventilator, are you, I meant what if she can't? No, we wouldn't do that.
We won't just take her off.
We gradually reduce the pressure and What does that mean? We get her to stretch her lungs and in a couple of days, hopefully, the ventilator will just be kicking in when she needs it.
You WILL let me know when you take her off? Of course, and we'll be there the whole time.
You won't let her die, will you? We'll do our very best.
I know you will.
I'm sorry.
I had a miscarriage a few years ago and I don't think I've ever really got over it.
We're thinking of trying her on some milk soon.
Oh, I can feed her? No, but you can continue expressing for her and when she's ready, we'll give it to her through a tube.
Have you decided whether you're going to stay or? No.
It's really difficult cos I've got two kids at home, and my husband needs to find a job.
I just really want to stay here with Hope.
Jude! I thought I was picking you up.
What's our car doing outside? Kim just called round to see me, why what's it to you? No, nothin', just thought it was weird, that's all.
I'll just get me keys and me phone and we'll get off.
She could wear that little blue dress that It's Jude.
Oh, shit.
You stayin' here, then? Yeah.
Just till we get things sorted.
And is she here, an'all, Rosie Hutchinson? What have you got against her? It's none of your business, Jude.
What did she ever do to you? Nothin'! Right, d'you want these football boots or not? I could put her in that Hiya.
Hey.
That all-in-one thing with poppers.
Yeah, yeah, put her in that.
Are we off then? Yeah, come on.
I've rubbed this oil on me belly every day for months now There you go, sit on that.
Oh, thanks.
I need one of them.
Me piles are up like balloons.
You should've said! Babies wreck your body.
Oh, God no! What? Nothin' It must be something.
Just lift your bottom a minute.
It's that Jack.
Moorhouse? Yeah, he's going to be a right pain now.
I wish you hadn't told him I was here.
Sorry, he said he was your friend.
We were a bit more than friends, so it's best you don't mention him when Dev's around, cos he gets a bit mental.
Sorry, I didn't realise.
Do you think these stretch marks'll ever go or am I going to be stuck with 'em? They'll fade a bit.
You mean I'll always have these big stripes up me belly?! You've earned those stripes, you carried a baby for nine months.
It's not quite nine months yet.
Nearly another month to go before I'm due.
Doctor won't let you go much longer.
If your blood pressure goes up again, then that is it, baby's comin' out.
If I was you, I'd want to get it over and done with.
I used to have this lovely, flat, innie belly button and now it's a weird outie one, I don't like it.
How is she? Well, her infection's gone.
Well, that's good.
They're going to try her with some of my milk soon.
Zack's been brilliant, he had a little grizzle, but he went straight back off to sleep.
Thanks.
I hope you'll be going to Parentcraft, cos Fiona's expecting you.
What about me, can I go? Nope.
Well, that's not fair, I'm the only one that's not given birth and I'm sick of bein' stuck in this bloody bed.
Can't someone just wheel me down? I don't think so, but I'll ask the doctor for you if you like! He's going to say no, in't he? God, I'm bored out of me head.
I don't know where I should be, here, High Dependency or at home.
Where do you want to be? I just want all my family to be together.
It'll happen, Diane.
I hope so.
When you look at your baby girl, what do you feel? I want to take her out of the incubator and hold her close to me and make everything better, but I can't.
And I feel so bloody useless.
Hey, you're doin' the best you can for her.
Does she recognise your voice? I think so, sometimes she turns her little head to look at me when I stroke her arm.
Awwww, bless her little cotton socks Did you fall in love with her, as soon as you saw her? She's my baby, she's come from me And I feel like I've let her down.
What? No way! I have caused all of this to happen.
No, you haven't.
That's rubbish! She might have problems for the rest of her life, brain damage, cerebral palsy, anything.
Is that what they said? No, it's not what they said but it's what they meant.
When will you know? We just have to see how everything just pans out I'm sorry, I have to feed him.
I am so lucky that Sonny's birth was straightforward.
It wasn't THAT straightforward, you've got 12 stitches in your fanny and I bet that bloomin' hurt? Didn't really feel anything I was so numb and then I had him in my arms, so I hope I feel like that when mine's born.
I hope I love it.
Course you will.
There's bound to be summat go wrong.
Don't say that, don't wish bad things on yourself.
There's a young man here to see you.
Me? Yeah, I think it's your partner.
Oh, must be early, he's brought my tweezers.
Can I borrow them after you've finished? Yeah.
I've got butterflies.
It'll be all right.
Once he sees his little granddaughter he won't care about anything else.
He'll fall in love with her.
So was Neil your boyfriend before you met Susie? No, he's just a friend, we've never been together like that.
Why, what made you ask? No reason You can just tell he likes you, that's all.
And I like him, but not in that way.
He's always there for you though, in't he? I mean he'd do anything for you.
Yeah, well, I'm carrying his baby.
Have you ever been with a bloke? Yeah, twice.
Jamie Matthews, when I was 19.
And then a couple of years later I went to France and I fell head over heels in love with Didier.
Unfortunately he was head over heels in love with himself.
So, I came back to England heartbroken and ten months later I met Susie.
Do you love her? I don't know, I thought I did.
Kyle! Hiya.
How did you know where I was? I called at the address you gave me and some bloke told me you'd had the baby.
That will've been Ed Well, it's lovely to see you.
How are you? Katie's been done for shoplifting.
What?! Where is she?! Well, she's at home now, Dad had to go to the police station and pick her up.
Oh, for God's sake! Yeah, well we all do crazy things You stole money from Dad.
No, I did NOT steal money, that was MY money.
He owed me two months' salary.
D'you know I had to stop him smashing up your painting last night.
I had to hide it in the utility room.
Thank you, darling I am so sorry.
I know how much I've hurt you and Katie and I am so sorry.
Yeah, yeah, you've already said that.
But I hope that one day you will be able to forgive me because I will never ever stop loving you.
Kyle Would you like to meet your baby brother? No, he's not my brother.
I I just thought that you might want to send Katie a text or an e-mail Erm I'll see you around, Mum.
Kyle! Kyle! Feels weird bein' back here.
Yeah, I know, I hate the smell of hospitals.
Is that why you're havin' your baby at home? You wrote about it in your blog.
Yeah, I just don't know where my home is at the moment, but I'll have to get that sorted.
Oh, God, it's the child snatcher I've been trying to ring you! I went to the address that you gave me, but you weren't there.
Yeah, no We've been staying at my friend's flat.
Right, well, you NEED to let me know.
Sorry.
I've got a push-chair and a baby bath in the boot of my car for you and I've left some stuff up on Maternity.
Thanks.
Oh, well, we'll call up and get them.
And if you text me the address, I'll drop the other stuff off.
We're just going to see Rosie's dad, they've moved him to the head trauma unit.
Great! Well that'll make life a lot easier.
I'll pop round to see you later on today.
YOU take care and get your feet up, you look tired.
Yeah, I will, thanks.
See ya.
Nosy cow.
Do you want me to hold Dinah while you tell your dad? I don't want to tell him.
I thought YOU were going to.
Well, he might guess if you've got the baby in your arms.
He won't, he don't even know I've been with a lad.
Does this lad know you were pregnant? Yeah.
Well, he has to step up and take some responsibility now she's born, cos you're going to have to go back to school.
I'm not goin' back to school.
You've got to go back to school, Rosie, you're 15 and you're clever, you could get your GCSEs.
I'm not bothered about them.
And this lad, who ever he is, he can't just get away with it.
He's going to have to cough up some money.
He hasn't got any money.
Hello.
Hi Erm It's Rosie Hutchinson, she's come to see her dad.
Oh, so you're Rosie! He might seem a bit confused at first and he might fall asleep, but that's pretty normal for someone that's had a serious head injury.
Dad! Hello love I've had an accident.
Yeah, I know.
It's good of you to come, I've been in another place.
And who's this? I'm Kim, a friend of Rosie's.
And the baby's called Dinah.
Oh, really? That's what my wife's called Wait till I tell her, I don't know why she hasn't been to visit me, I expect she's been busy, I've been a long way away, maybe she couldn't get a bus Maybe that's Maybe that's it.
I know it's old-fashioned, but that's just how I am.
I don't like ultimatums, Vicky.
I don't want to be a single mum.
You're not single.
Well I'm not married! All right, keep your voice down.
I've put the chairs out ready for this evening.
Great.
Do you know if Diane's coming? Last time I spoke to her she said she wasn't sure but I'll keep you posted, OK? I don't know what the big deal is.
My parents were married, my grandparents were married and I want to be married.
Just say if you don't want to be with me, Chris.
It's got nothing to do with that.
I AM with you, I just don't want to get married.
Well, I do.
And another thing, I hate not being able to tell people that we're together, it's embarrassing.
That was as much your decision as it was mine, we both decided we needed to keep things professional at work.
Yeah, well, that was before I got pregnant.
Thing's have changed.
I want to be able to tell people that you are the father of my baby.
Are you all right with that, Chris? Now then, Jasmin, how are we doing today? Me blood pressure's stayed down so I don't think you're going to have to induce me.
I think I can go full term now.
Well that's good, I hope you're right.
Vicky, could you pass me the trace, please? Thank you.
Sometimes patients that've had a serious head injury fully recover and sometimes they don't.
But he didn't even know me mam had died.
Yeah, that's quite common, he's been asking for her.
Don't worry, we'll deal with that.
Do you know when he'll be able to come home? I wouldn't like to say, it depends on how he progresses, but my guess is he won't be going home for quite some time.
'The doctors may decide he needs to go 'to a special rehabilitation unit.
' I could look after him, if they show me what to do.
No, you can't.
It's hard enough looking after a newborn baby.
What's going to happen to us, then? No, there was like three of us that went for t'job and I thought he liked me, but I didn't have any experience in retail.
When are you coming home, Mam? Soon, love.
Nanna won't let me play on the PlayStation.
Yes, cos you'd be on it all day and it's not good for you.
Sam, I told you, you've gotta listen to Nanna.
So have you got any more interviews? We went to the park, didn't we? Park's boring.
No, but, I'm going to put a postcard up in t'supermarket, just see if anyone wants any odd jobs doing or anything.
How are you going to do that if you haven't got a car? I'll go on t'bus.
Builder said he's not comin' back till you've paid him the last bill.
But babies are going to be in with you for a bit, so it doesn't matter All right, Jean, thank you.
So Yeah, Jean, thank you.
Diane don't need to know all that.
Yes, I do need to know that, Rick! Because we can't get two cots in our bedroom.
One of them can sleep in my room.
I'm doin' everything I can, love, all right? I'm going to take this milk to neo-natal, do you want to come and see her? Yeah.
I'll stay here with the kids and pop down when you come back.
Thanks.
If Diane and Roanna go home, I'm going to be stuck in here all by meself.
There'll be other mums and babies coming in.
Yeah, but I don't know them, I know Diane and Roanna, they're me friends.
Oh, yeah, doctor said you can go to Parentcraft in a wheelchair.
Ooh, yay, fantastic, I'm off out! He wasn't too happy about it at first, but I talked him round.
Yeah.
Have you and him got summat goin' on? What made you say that? I dunno, it's just a feeling that I get.
Maybe he's one of these blokes that fancy pregnant women.
He's not, trust me.
Awwww, so there IS somethin'! He's not the father of your little one, is he? He is, in't he?! Shit, you kept that quiet.
It's tricky us both working together, y'know and yeah, well, he wasn't too happy about it at first, it wasn't the right time for him.
There never is a right time.
We'd only just got married.
Yeah, I forgot there was this mix up over your dates.
I just don't know when exactly I got pregnant, that's all it is.
Right Could there be an issue over whose baby it is, Jasmin? What?! No way I don't know There might be.
Dev told me he thought it was a honeymoon baby, but the weeks don't quite work out, do they? Promise me you won't say anything? It depends what it is.
No, I can't tell you unless you swear on your baby's life.
I can't do that.
It depends if it effects you or your baby's health.
If you tell anyone, that's it, my marriage is over.
I promise I won't say anything unless I absolutely have to and I definitely won't say anything to Dev.
Three weeks before getting married, it were Melanie Brooks', that's one of the solicitors at the law firm that I worked at.
Well, it was her birthday and we were all off out after work for drinks.
I hadn't had anythin' to eat and And what? You better not tell anyone I had a bit too much to drink and I knew I shouldn't have done it, but Jack gave me a lift home, Jack's me ex.
Was he the one that came on to the ward? Yeah, and sent me blood pressure rocketin' And anyway, one thing led to another and I was bloody stupid I can't believe I'd done it And as soon as we'd done it, I knew he were only telling me he loved me cos he knew I were marrying Dev.
Don't get yourself in a state again, Jasmin.
And now read that What you going to do? I keep having this dream.
That I give birth to this baby and it's white with blue eyes and blonde hair.
I don't think your baby is going to be born white with blonde hair and blue eyes.
But you don't know for definite, do you?! And knowing my luck, it will.
The thing is, if I just go another three weeks, then it's got to be Dev's baby.
All right? Where you two off? High Dependency, to see Hope.
She's hanging on in there, mate.
Oh, that's great, mate.
Hey, listen, you might not be interested cos it's crap money, but Lenny who works in t'kitchen has knocked two nights on t'trot and he's not answering his phone, so if you want to call by this evenin'.
Thanks, Dev.
No, Yeah, definitely.
Thank you.
Cheers, mate.
No problem Is she in a good mood? She's bored.
Oh, shit.
Don't text her, I don't want her to know where I am.
She's not the enemy, Rosie, she's trying to help you.
Well, I wish she wouldn't bother, I've got you and I don't need anybody else.
Now, then, how's she doing? Yeah, great! Awww, what a little poppet and she's really filling out now, are you managing to feed her yourself? Yeah, she likes it.
Course she does, mother's milk's best.
Oh, she's lovely.
Now, Louise has left some stuff for you.
That's right, we've just seen her.
I'll just go and get it.
Do you want to pop onto the ward and see Roanna and the baby? Can we? I don't see why not.
I'll wait here.
Oh, congratulations! Thank you, what are you doin' here? They've moved Rosie's dad to the head trauma unit God, he's gorgeous, how much did he weigh? 8lb 7.
He's a little whopper! I know, tell me about it.
I've got the stitches to prove it! Stitches in your? Yeah.
Oh, God, that must be horrible and what's that you're drinkin'? Stuff to make me go to the loo, I'm not allowed to leave until I've moved my bowels.
Oh, God, you poor thing! Syrup of figs do it every time for me.
So apart from the stitches, everythin' else was OK? Sort of, yeah.
Well, it was until Kyle came to see me and told me Katie's been done for shoplifting.
Oh, that's not good.
No, it's not good.
And he wouldn't even look at him.
I feel like I've made such a mess of everything.
No, you haven't.
And having him's brought back all the feelings I had when they were babies And now I just want to see them and hold them I miss them so much.
You're bound to, but they're grown-up now.
I know.
And it's really weird, but having him, you'd think I'd be really happy, but I'm not.
I feel really sad.
Well, I'm here if you need me.
Thank you.
Is everything all right with you? Not great.
My big news is me and Susie have split.
No! I'm so sorry, why? Well, things haven't been right for a bit, but she completely freaked when I brought Rosie home.
Maybe you should've talked to her about it first.
Yeah, you're probably right, cos now I'm thinking maybe it wasn't such a great idea, cos she's really gettin' to rely on me.
Her dad's in a bad way and I don't know what's going to happen when I have my baby.
Hey, listen, you, this is your dad talking, all right? You have gotta behave yourself in there cos your mum wants to come home.
You've only got another few weeks and then you'll be out, all right? So you give me a boot to let me know you've heard me.
Did you feel that? He knows his dad's voice He heard what I said He definitely moved, didn't he? Yeah, summat moved.
That's my son It might not be.
What? It might be your daughter.
Oh, yeah, I can't imagine havin' a daughter, but that'd be great eh? Two of you giving me grief It feels real now, I can't wait for her Or him to be here.
Aha! All right? Yeah.
So Susie doesn't know? No, I thought it was just a one-off and I got pregnant straight away, but now I really feel something for Neil.
Well, that's really hard, Kim, but you're just going to have to tell her.
Hiya! Sorry we're late.
I stayed at Mum's last night.
That's all right.
She wanted to get you some, erm Congratulations, Simon.
Thank you.
He's amazing, isn't he? What a sweetheart! So when are they going to let you come home? It depends.
I better go, but I'll call round to the flat later in the week.
OK.
Oh, right, you better ring Ro before you call round.
Simon! No, no, no, no, no, just to check, we might not be there.
OK, will do.
See you later.
Listen, thanks for coming to see me.
I hope it works out OK.
Will you keep me posted? I will.
Bye! Bye.
You all right? Yeah.
Do you know, I think he's got the Lambert nose.
He looks JUST like your grandad.
No, he doesn't, he's got a cute little nose, Grandad's got a right old conk.
Don't let him hear you saying that, otherwise you'll be written out of the will! Can I hold him? Yeah, course you can, thanks ever so much for these flowers, they're beautiful.
Oh, beautiful boy.
One, two, three - wheee! Oh.
There.
Oh, you're not really going to call him Sonny, are you? Yeah.
We both really like it.
Well, I suppose we'll get used to it.
Yeah.
No, you're right, Simon he doesn't have your grandad's nose, he's got YOUR nose.
He looks just like you did when you were born.
Really? Absolutely.
He's even got your fingers.
Ooh! Hello, darling boy I'm Emma, your Oh, gosh, this is going to seem strange.
Grandmother.
I'm your grandmother.
Yes.
Wasn't so bad Oh, what's the matter, dear? Ro Nothing, I'm fine.
Hey, everything's going to be fine now, we've got our baby, yeah? I know.
Look, I know it's all a bit of a mess.
But I've had a word with Simon's father and you can come stay with us until you find somewhere decent to live.
See, we don't have to rush into anything.
We've got THREE spare bedrooms doing absolutely nothing.
We can turn one into a nursery - yes! And the other could be a sitting room for you.
Dad's really cool about it, he just wants Mum to be happy.
Look, I know what I said before, but everything's changed now little Sonny has come along and, well I didn't realise that you were Well, that you were such a nice person.
Yeah, she thought I'd choose a right old bitch.
Simon! Oh, please say you'll leave that dreadful flat and come and stay with us for a bit? Thank you, but it's not that I know, I know what it is.
It's the baby blues, of course it is.
It's hormonal.
Don't worry, you'll be fine as soon as we get you home.
Yeah.
And so will you, darling.
Your big sister cannot wait for you to come home .
.
so you've got to get better, OK? Put some weight on.
I've brought her some milk.
Thanks, I'll pop it in the fridge for later.
She looks a good colour, don't she? Yes, she's a bit jaundiced.
For God's sake what else is going to go wrong with her?! It's not their fault, Rick.
It's nothing to be alarmed about.
Most babies get jaundiced, particularly prems.
Sorry, it's me, sorry.
That's why we've got this special light on her.
It just seems like every time we come down here, there's summat else.
I know, but as I explained to Diane earlier, it's one step forward and two steps back for babies like Hope.
So, when we looking at being able to take her home? Would you like me to go and get the doctor to talk to you? No, no, I don't want a doctor.
Can you just give us an idea, a rough idea of what we're lookin' at? This is only my opinion, but I would think not for quite some time.
Maybe we should get in touch with your auntie Christine, let her know about your dad.
Maybe I should just run away and take Dinah with me.
Well, that's a silly idea, how would you manage? Right, you strap Dinah in and I'll put this lot in the boot.
Yes, I'm here! If she's staying here, you better have this, they dropped it off this morning.
What is it? Community birthing pool.
There you go.
You had to tell her, didn't you? She got it out of me.
I'm not going to lie to her.
This has got nothing to do with Jude.
You DO realise you're making things worse.
I'm trying to do the right thing! Well, you're not.
She's eight months pregnant! What am I supposed to do?! Leave her in some God forsaken flat with no lift?! Yeah, if that's what she wants! Well, I'm not like that and you know it! You shouldn't have thrown her out! I didn't! I asked her to choose between me and the girl and she chose her.
Mum! No, she didn't, she did what any normal person would do! We've brought the pool, let's just go.
Shut up! Don't you think things are bad enough for Jude, with the new baby and everything.
Don't bring me into this! He's 15, he'll be at university in a few years.
You're his father.
Yeah, and I'm Kim's baby's father too! Right! So you've taken her side now! I haven't taken anybody's side! Susie! For God's sake.
You're MY friend, Neil! We've known each other since we were seven.
Don't you understand that I feel completely betrayed.
You're over reacting.
No, I'm not.
Do you know, her parents don't even know that we're together, they think I'm her house mate.
We're home.
Yep.
Says it all.
I've brought you the birthing pool, we had to get a taxi cos it was too heavy to bring on the bus.
I'll drop the rest of your stuff off in the morning, unless you want to collect it yourself.
What are you being like this for? Can we go now? Are you completely stupid? You've left me, Kim! No, I haven't Yes, yes, you have! You picked your school girl blogger friend and her baby over me and now you've moved in with my best friend! C'mon, Mum, let's just go! And you expect me to just be OK with that? He's my friend too! You wouldn't have even known him if it wasn't for me.
I introduced you to him.
That doesn't mean you own him or me.
He's the father of my baby, we can do whatever we want! It's not up to you! We don't NEED your permission! This is all my fault! No, it's not! It's got nothing to do with you.
This is mine and Susie's problem.
If someone had told me you'd do this to me, I wouldn't have believed them.
Do you know what, Kim, I don't think I like you anymore, you're not a very nice person.
OK, fine.
And just for the record, you're not the person I fell in love with.
You disgust me.
Mum! For God's sake.
Well, I'll tell you something that'll disgust you even more.
Yeah.
No, Kim, please I think she should know.
Know what?! No, please don't! I'll go.
No, you won't! Leave it, Mum! I'll talk to that Louise woman and I'll go into that hostel.
Are you going to tell her? OK, we didn't get Jude's the father of my baby! What did you say? She's lying.
No, I'm not, I've only ever been with one lad so it can't be anyone else.
Don't listen to her - she's lying, she's making it up.
Sh! It were the night of the school disco.
I told you about me mam dying and you told me you hated Kim and that you didn't want her to get pregnant.
I didn't say that! You said you didn't want a baby brother or sister! She's lying! And you didn't want your mam to marry her.
You did say that, Jude! She's making it up, she's lying! Jude? We drank a bottle of peach brandy that you'd nicked from your house and we left school disco and went up to t'quarry.
You wanted to go just as much as I did.
Yeah, cos I liked you and I thought you were a nice person.
You weren't like the other lads, I could talk to you, but then afterwards at school you were horrible to me.
And when I told you I thought I was havin' a baby, you called me a slag and said that I'd slept with half the school and you knew that weren't true, cos I'd never been with anyone before.
She's your baby, Jude.
Look at her.
Did you know about this? No.
I swear to God, I had no idea.
It's the truth, she didn't.
I didn't tell anyone except Jude.
I went online to find out about having a baby cos I couldn't talk to me dad and I didn't know what was going to happen to me and that's when I found Kim's blog.
I'm sorry if I've caused you any trouble, I just needed somebody to help me.
Well, to say you didn't want to cause any trouble, you've not done too bad.
Come on, Susie.
It's not her fault, Mum.
I know exactly whose fault this is.
I don't know what to say to you.
You're 15 years old and you've ruined your life.
Mum! I'll go.
Susie, wait! Wait! Please! I'm so sorry! I had no idea! I didn't even know he was old enough to I suppose I still think of him as a boy.
He IS a boy, that's all he is.
He's ruined his life What am I going to do, I don't know what to do? I suppose we should ask him what he wants to do? He's got no money, he's 15.
So is she.
How's he going to pay for a child? I don't know, but we'll have to figure somethin' out.
He's got his mock GCSEs this year and He's got to take some responsibility for what he's No, I know that! Oh, you're loving this, aren't you? No, I'm not, what a horrible thing to say.
I didn't mean it like that I care about Jude as much as you No, you don't, no.
You've never liked him.
That's not true.
OK, then.
Well, you can sort this mess out then cos I can't deal with it.
I don't want to see either of them again.
Oh, Susie! Don't be ridiculous! He's your son! I mean, did you think about having an abortion? That's what I told her.
I'd missed four months before I realised there were summat were up and anyway I didn't have the money.
You could've had it done on the NHS.
I wanted a baby.
Jesus, Rosie, how can you want a baby at 15? I just did.
She's upset.
Yeah, well obviously We're all upset.
How many times have I talked to you about contraception? We need to talk, Neil.
Yeah, I know What did you think you were going to do, eh? Just chance it? Or did you set out to get pregnant? No! NOW, Neil.
What a bloody mess.
I think my contractions have started Really? I'm sorry your mam's upset and I'm sorry I got you into trouble.
I just can't believe you told 'em! There you go.
I was going to tell her.
I know you were.
It was weird, it was like Rosie knew, it was like she was stopping me saying it.
Yeah, I thought that We'll tell Susie, we will, we'll find a way, but just not now I don't know what the hell we're going to do about Jude.
Neither do I, but it explains a lot of things, why he kicked off big time when I brought her home.
Yeah.
I just can't believe after everything I've said to him, he didn't take any precautions.
And Rosie's father doesn't know she's had a baby.
Well, the shit's really going to hit the fan when he finds out.
Oh! Are you OK? Oh, God, that's definitely a contraction.
I really think I'm in labour.
Neil.
Just breathe.
It's all right.
She's got a special light and a mask over her eyes.
Poor little thing.
Yeah, and Rick started kicking off at the nurse like it were her fault.
He'll have been wound up, he's got a lot on his mind.
When's his court hearin'? He hasn't got a date yet, but at least he's got some work.
Yeah, they'll be at the restaurant now.
Right, have you got everything? I don't know what I need, I've never done this before.
It's easy, I'll introduce you, some of them will know you from before, but the new Parentcraft mums and dads won't, so just answer their questions and reassure them.
I'll take Zack through to the nursery, I'll be back in a minute.
OK, are you all ready for your trip out? Yeah! I'm off out.
Yeah! Come on then! Have you spilt something? No, why? The sheets, they feel a little bit damp.
Yeah, that's cos I've been sweatin', it's boilin' in here.
Right, well, it's not sweat.
Just swing your legs round.
Michelle? Can you strip this bed off? Maybe I've just wet meself.
You all right? You know, I think your waters have gone.
They can't have.
I didn't feel anythin'.
Well, we'll get you through to Assessment and we'll see what's going on, OK? Bloody typical, I finally get a trip out and summat goes wrong.
Why is it always me? Me waters can't have gone.
I'm not due yet.
You're due when baby decides that it wants to come.
All plates and dishes go in here.
Yep, yep.
You put two tabs in, press fast cycle and start and it takes six minutes.
Six minutes, OK.
When that's finished, you want to start unpacking that shelf.
OK.
Table five want their food.
Then you stack the tureens, that takes ten minutes and you've got to put an extra tab in.
OK, where do I put the clean tureens? Put them on there.
OK, on there? We're struggling out there, we need you out front.
Table eight, Dev! It's on the trolley! Yeah, got it.
Rick, we're running out of tureens! What was that? Running out of tureens.
Tureens! Last one there.
I'll get another one on the way, all right? Come on, we can do this.
Right, sorry about that, guys.
Right, we've got a Chicken Korma, mushroom Biriyani, there y'are mate.
Lamb Rogan Josh, upping the style, yeah? Yeah, then we've got prawn Vindaloo Yeah? And a Chicken Bhuna Actually, we didn't order Chicken Bhuna It was Chicken Biriyani.
You guys never get it right.
I'm sorry.
I tell you what, you can leave the Bhuna on the table and bring us the Biriyani when it's ready and I think we'll have another round of beers on the house.
Is that draft beer, or bottle beer or? Sorry, mate, it slipped out me hand.
You stupid, bloody moron! Y'know, what Jasmin's doing with an idiot like you I'll never know.
Get off, get off! Dev! Enough.
Enough! OK, folks, sorry.
Show's over.
Y'all right? What happened? Y'all right? Get that lot cleared up Are you all right, sir? Don't call him sir, he said I'm an idiot! Well, you are a bloody idiot! Did Jasmin ever tell you about our little pre-wedding fling? I SWEAR, I'LL! I don't know when that baby's due, but I think you need to check it out, pal! Why don't you shut your mouth! OK, the pair of you leave right now! I tell you, you are going to regret sayin' that.
Well, I'm just terrified! It's not worth it, he's talking crap.
Leave it! Go.
Just go.
Yeah, your waters have broken and you're nearly two centimetres dilated.
I don't know how I can be.
I haven't had any contractions yet.
So you've had no pains at all? Well, I've always got aches and pains, but nothing different to what I normally have.
We'll get the doctor to take a look at you, then.
Come in.
Everything all right? Yeah, where are you going? Kim's gone into labour.
Listen, I've gotta go, I'll see ya later.
All right.
No way, she's not due till after me.
I've told you, baby comes when baby wants.
Yeah, A&E, mate, please.
Oh, God.
We found the pump for the pool, it was in the bottom of the box.
Oh, God, where's the bloody midwife, Neil? She's coming, she'll be here soon.
But you rung her ages ago.
Oh, my God, this is horrible I think I want to push, Neil.
No, you don't.
Lay down.
I don't want to lay down, it's best to keep moving.
Is the pool ready? How we doing, guys? I can feel all the air coming out.
Shit, valve must've gone Nearly there! AGGGHHHHHH! Oh, God! Think of the most excruciating pain you've ever had in your entire life, then triple it and Thank you, Diane, so now we'll move on to Caesarean sections.
We got a call, I believe Kim's in labour.
No, I left her a couple of hours ago, she's fine.
According to the call we got, she's having contractions every six minutes.
Oh, right, I know where she is.
Can you hold on?! Can you wait?! We're going to another address! OK, I'm putting the cold water in now.
Better not put too much cold water in, we've got no hot water left.
I could put the kettle on and a pan of hot water, just in case.
Good idea, you do that, Rosie.
What temperature did you say it has to be at? 36 and 37.
I think I want an epidural.
You can't have an epidural.
You'll have to take me to hospital, I can't stand this.
Pool's nearly ready, you'll feel much better when you get in.
How about your yoga and your visualisation? No, sod visualisation.
I need drugs! No, you don't.
We can do this.
I can't, Neil, I haven't got anything here, I haven't even got me relaxation CD! I'll have summat, Jude have a look for some chill out music.
Oh, me notes and me TENS machine are at the house as well.
Midwife'll be here any minute and she'll have everything.
Yes, she'll have gas and air, so you have to blow them candles out.
I was just tryin' to make it nice for you.
What you doin'? Helping the baby through my pelvis.
Pan and kettle's on and, er, I thought you might need these.
Great, put them on there.
What about Guns N' Roses? NO! Well, I don't know what's relaxing.
Why don't you like me, Jude? I don't not like you.
Do you remember when you were 11 and I took you to Scarborough in the summer holidays, just me and you and then we went to see that Viking exhibition in? I just want to be normal.
I want a mum and dad or a mum and a boyfriend, just like the other lads in my year, I don't want to be different.
OK, it's all right to be different though, Jude, it's not a bad thing.
Yeah, well you want to try havin' a lesbian mother and bein' in my year.
Sometimes, though, you've got to be brave and stand up to people or things'll never change.
You mean like YOU standin' up to YOUR parents? Right, well, I think that's high enough and the temperature's bang on, so do you want to jump in? Ohhhhh.
Oh, that's gorgeous Shhhh And the sea is gently ebbing in across the pebbles.
Shhhh And back out again Shhhhh Oh, for God's sake! No! Not that! It says Nirvana on it, I thought it'd be relaxing.
Oooooh! I'll rub your back.
Oh! Oh! Got another one cranking up.
Oh, God it really hurts this time.
I don't know how you did it Neither do I, it's all a bit of blur now.
Oooooooooohhhhhh.
Baby's crying - someone see to her! Go and make sure she's all right.
Go on! Got it, what about Susan Boyle? Susan Boyle?! I like a bit of Subo.
Whatever.
Ahhhhhhhh! Just keep trying to breathe, remember the sea.
Rosie - she needs feeding.
It's OK I'll take over.
I've just gotta go feed Dinah, I'll be back in a minute Just keep rubbin' her back.
All right, all right.
They're getting closer, it's about three minutes since the last one.
I'll ring her again.
How will I know if my waters have gone? I don't know.
You gave her the right address, didn't you? She didn't ask for an address.
Oh, God, she'll have gone to the house.
She's not going to get here on time, Neil I hope you know how to deliver a baby I want to push.
Aghhhhh! That's it.
OK, OK.
OK.
So there's nothing at all happening.
Nope.
OK, well I think we're going to have to help start you off.
So we'll begin with a sweep and then move onto Why? I'm all right now and the baby's all right, so why can't I just wait? Well, now your waters have gone there's an increased risk of infection for both you and your baby and that's the last thing we want, now we've got your blood pressure under control.
You're due in a few weeks anyway so Yeah, well, there was a mix-up with me dates.
Jasmin thinks she might only be 34 or 35 weeks.
Right, well we absolutely need to know, this is crucial information.
We give steroid injections and then induce if it's 34 weeks or we manage the situation if it's 37 weeks.
It's very important.
Where are the notes and the scan report dates? Come in.
Jasmin's husband's here.
Not now, who told him to come? What have you done? Diane rang Rick, she said your waters had gone.
Why didn't you want me here, Jas? She said not to push It's coming, she's coming I can feel her coming.
Three quick pants and one long blow Three quick pants and one long blow She's comin' out! Hold on, she'll be here any minute, hold on No! I can't! I can feel her head! I can see her head! I can see her head! She's nearly here, one more push, one more push, you can do it! No, I can't, not yet Yes, you can, nobody's stronger than you and you've done this all on your own.
You're incredible, do you know that? And I love the bloody bones off you.
She's here! She's here.
Looks like I wasn't needed after all.
OK? Yeah.
Sounds like baby's born, do you want to go see her? Yeah.
But before I do, I just want to say I'm sorry for calling you a slag, I didn't mean it.
Where did Susie go? I don't want to talk to you.
I don't want get through anything.
We betrayed her.
She had a fling with someone she worked with three weeks before she married the chap.
Arrrhhhhhh! Push, push, push, push! I have to see her! Don't you understand?! That baby could be mine!
