In The Dark (2019) s01e07 Episode Script

The One That Got Away

1 Oh my God.
Previously on In the Dark.
Help! So look, I know this is a front and also know that Tyson used to sell drugs for you.
I said, give me your stash! Tyson works for Evan in the flowershop.
And now they are both dead.
You should probably be trying to figure out who killed that guy in the flower shop.
I recognize that guy's voice.
I can't place it, but if I heard it again, I would know it.
MAX: You can't keep doing things that would destroy any relationship and then come back to me and expect to hit reset.
Hang on a sec.
I'll be right back.
MAN: You did your job.
Just take the cash! - Who was that? - Wesley.
He's the one who killed the guy at the flower shop.
(SIGHS) I can't believe you're making me talk to Darnell.
I should be at the police station turning in Wesley for Evan's murder.
Look, Wesley works for Darnell.
So do I.
You can't just turn this guy in without talking to him first.
It's just not how it works in my world.
I'm so glad this is your world.
- (DOOR OPENS, BELL JINGLES) - You don't think you could have taken out a loan for your food truck? You had to launder money for drug dealers? I don't need to explain myself to you, babe.
Well, if it isn't the happy couple.
To what do I owe this pleasure? (CLEARS THROAT) Max is forcing me to tell you who killed the flower shop guy.
The dude who owns Clover Flora.
- Right.
The yuppie drug front.
- Yes.
Okay, I'll bite.
Who was it? Wesley.
What? - My Wesley? - He robbed him, and then he shot him.
How would you know that? Because I was there.
I was hiding in the bathroom, - and I recognized his voice.
- All right.
So what if he did? I think Wesley also killed Tyson.
Nah.
Even that punk knows not to mess with my family.
They're obviously connected.
We just don't know how.
Well let's figure it out.
(CLEARS THROAT) This is Tyson.
- Oh, my God.
- Just Wesley.
Okay? This is you, Darnell.
Take a look.
Autopsy report says that there were contusions on his throat.
So he was strangled and shot in the forehead? Yeah, but he wasn't shot until after Murphy found him.
She said there was no wound, remember? Right.
So Tyson is strangled, rendering him unconscious.
That's when Murphy finds him.
- Then she leaves to call us.
- Which is when the killer must have taken him away.
And there was no blood left in the alley, so we have to assume that he was shot somewhere else.
But why move him? Why not just leave him there? It could look like a routine drug deal gone wrong.
Maybe because Murphy showed up.
MURPHY: Okay, so Tyson has been working for you for two years, yes? - Yeah.
- Okay, and so has Wesley.
And-and Sorry, hang on.
Which one is Wesley again? - Mustard.
- Mustard.
- Okay, so, Wes - No, that's syrup.
And syrup is me, apparently.
- Hey.
This is Wesley right here.
- So So, Wesley finds out that Tyson has been working for the flower shop guy behind everyone's back, kills him for being a traitor or whatever.
I buy that.
- Don't you buy that, D? - No.
(SCOFFS) This is solid.
Not solid enough.
But I may have something else.
So, let's break this down.
Murphy found Tyson in the alley, presumably alive, at 9:30.
This has avocado.
I said no avocado.
It takes approximately two hours during rush hour to get from Madison into the city.
Tyson's dad's doorbell app shows him leaving at 6:30.
Which puts him back here at 8:30 at the earliest.
Still leaves an hour unaccounted for.
Whoever he saw during that hour could be the person that killed him.
A few days before Tyson got shot, Wesley went crazy on this dude, Jay Crawford.
Shot him in a pizza parlor.
Hey.
What you doing here? WESLEY: Crawford.
What's up, man? (GUNSHOTS) (PANTING) MURPHY: Who the hell's Jay Crawford? This dealer.
He took over some of our territor It doesn't matter.
The point is Tyson and I were there when he shot the guy.
- You think Tyson said something? - No.
I made sure he wouldn't.
But Wesley never trusted Tyson.
I never knew why.
But if Wesley heard that Tyson was dealing for someone else on the side He'd think Tyson had - two separate loyalties.
- Exactly.
Tyson becomes too much of a liability for him.
Okay, so Wesley finds out that Tyson is dealing for Evan, doesn't trust him anymore, kills Tyson so that Tyson won't tell anyone that Wesley killed this Crawford dude.
Yes? That I actually buy.
I'm gonna go.
Wh-Where you going? I just have a I have a quick errand.
Down the block.
She's going to the cops, okay? Max.
(EXHALES) I want him in prison for life, Darnell.
Trust me, I know how this goes.
There's not enough on him.
If you go to the cops, he will not get convicted.
And when he doesn't Murphy, he'll kill you.
Well, what do you suggest I do, then? Nothing.
Let me handle it.
Doing the right thing, okay? I'm telling you, Wesley's gone rogue.
He's going after our own people.
He killed Tyson.
Tyson? Didn't they run that alley together? I guess they had a disagreement.
- So, Wesley tell you all this? - No.
It was that blind chick.
Look, I know what I said about her, but I don't know.
I believe her.
Okay.
You can go.
That's it? What about Wesley? I'm-a handle it.
Yeah.
You always do.
(DOGS BARKING) God, I can't believe - he's the one that did it.
- I know.
This isn't right, Jess.
I have to go to the police.
Wesley deserves to rot in jail and think about what he did.
Right.
You're absolutely right.
But Max said he'd kill you.
He can't kill me if he's in jail.
Pretzel.
I think there might be, like, a whole thing we don't really know about.
Okay, please text me.
Please.
(ELEVATOR BELL DINGS) Wait.
Forward.
Hold on a second.
I need to speak with Detective Dean Riley.
Tell him it's Murphy Mason.
You sure about this? I was right about Tyson, and I'm right about this.
Are you gonna arrest him or not? (SIGHS) Unfortunately, your testimony alone isn't enough for an arrest.
We have to prove that it was Wesley's voice you heard.
It was.
I know it was.
Uh, we could arrange a voice lineup.
You think you'd recognize him? Of course I would.
But he He wouldn't know that it's me, right? Oh, it'd be completely confidential.
(EXHALES) DEAN: You're doing the right thing.
A lot of people wouldn't go to the lengths you're going to for someone else.
You're a good friend.
(SHUDDERS) I don't get compliments very often, so I'm uncomfortable.
HANK: Felix! Hello, sir.
I'm going over the company credit card.
- Mm-hmm.
- $300? What the hell are you buying, Felix? V-Various snacks, beverages.
There's been a high demand for bubble water lately.
This isn't a grocery store, huh? If people want snacks, they can bring their own damn snacks.
I will inform the staff.
Good.
I'm sorry.
Having a bad day.
Yeah, kind of getting that vibe.
Anything I can do? No, it's fine.
You sure? I'm happy to help.
Actually, maybe-maybe there is something that you can do.
Um (STAMMERS) - Close that.
- Oh, yeah, sure.
Can you keep a secret? It would be my honor.
Joy doesn't know this.
Uh, please don't tell me you're cheating.
What? No.
No.
I Oh.
I smoke weed.
I mean, not, you know, excessively or anything.
I mean, just to, you know (INHALES) mellow out.
(EXHALES) Me, too.
That's weird.
Yeah, like, all the time.
(CHUCKLES) Thank God.
Listen, uh, my dealer is out of town, and I am out.
Could you maybe I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
Man, this is, uh, completely unprofessional.
I'm sorry I asked.
Forget it.
No! I'm totally chill.
(CHUCKLES) I'm on it.
You're a lifesaver.
Yeah.
Okay, we brought in the suspect you identified, in addition to five other men.
Same age, same race.
Where are they? They're in a lineup outside this window.
But they can't see you.
Is Dean here? Yes.
Yeah, but he can't talk.
A male voice could compromise the lineup.
Oh.
Okay.
Hi, Dean.
So, after all six men have spoken, you'll let us know which one you believe shot Evan Pham.
Okay.
JULES: Number one.
I said give me your stash.
Number two.
I said give me your stash.
Number three.
I said give me your stash.
Number four.
I said give me your stash.
Number five.
I said give me your stash.
Number six.
I said give me your stash.
All right, Murphy.
Go ahead.
It's number three.
I'm positive.
(INDISTINCT CHATTER) I got him, right? Come on, Dean.
Tell me I got him.
You got him.
(SHUDDERS) (EXHALES) You're sure you don't want another one? Nope.
That's how happy I am.
I'm actually enjoying feeling sober.
Can I get my check, please? For what, the last five years of drinking? Shut up.
Just let me pay for my beer.
Gladly.
I didn't know you have one of these.
It's real.
Um, this is called a check.
You just sign it.
Do you want me to sign that for you? I can do it myself, thank you very much.
Can you show me where to where the where the line is, please? Yeah.
It's right here.
TYSON: Whoa.
- Christmas already? - (CHUCKLES) It's not even Thanksgiving.
Fall back, Laneway.
Wait, what's the date today? November November what? Hold on a sec.
Thirteenth.
Oh, my God.
It's Jess's birthday.
Oh.
And you didn't No, I didn't do anything.
(SIGHS) Oh, God, I'm such a dick.
How much money do I have? That's three dollars.
Okay, well, what could I what could I get her? You can get her three cans of soup.
This is so bad.
She always does stuff for me for my birthday.
She writes me these cards with, like, puffy paint so I can feel what she wrote me.
I'm the worst.
Well, you could always just do the same thing.
Write her a card.
It's in your budget.
I can't write, Ty.
I forgot.
(EXHALES) Murphy, did you know that you gave me a tip? One dollar.
- A dollar? - Mm-hmm.
Wow.
Hey.
Hey.
You're out early.
Just waiting on the ballistics report.
Well, I get off in 30 minutes if you want to get food.
Love to get food, but I have to pick up Chloe.
That's cool.
I can watch Chloe.
- (CHUCKLES) - Hmm.
I solved a murder, so I'm pretty sure I can hang out with Chloe for a few hours while you guys bone.
Oh, that's right.
You haven't done that yet.
- Murphy.
- What, I Is that supposed to be a secret? I'm sorry.
She's here all the time.
It's okay.
Just bring Chloe over to my apartment.
I'll put on a movie or something.
(EXHALES) Are you sure? Yes.
(CHUCKLES) All right.
Just call me Cupid.
FELIX: Hi! How was your day? Because mine was super weird.
I just told Hank I would score him some dope.
- Sorry, what? - Hank he smokes dope.
- Don't say "dope.
" - Sorry.
Hank smokes ganja.
- Felix, just say "weed.
" - Keep it down.
It's a secret.
Jess, what am I gonna do? Well, you just get him some weed.
(SCOFFS) Oh, right.
You're you.
Okay, I'll, uh Well, I'll give you my dealer's number.
Or I can text my dealer for you.
Oh, my God.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
He's gonna love me.
Okay, uh, can you be in Union Park in a couple of hours? But you're gonna come with me, right? For backup? You're ridiculous.
(CHUCKLES): Okay.
Fine.
I will accompany you to go buy marijuana.
- Jessica.
- (DOOR CLOSES) (LOCK CLICKS) What up, losers? CHLOE: Hey.
So, I went ahead, and I texted you all the - emergency information.
Just - Yeah, I got this.
Okay, all we're gonna do is sit on the couch, eat and do some lines of coke.
- Oh.
Great.
- We'll be fine.
We're literally not leaving the living room.
Dad, we're fine.
Just go.
I know.
I just All right.
I love you, Chlo-bo.
Love you, Daddy-o.
I wouldn't do that in front of other people.
Oh.
Let's rage.
JULES: Ballistics weighed in? Yeah.
Tyson Parker was killed by a Hi-Point nine-millimeter.
Hi-Point nine-millimeter? That's the same gun used to kill Evan Pham.
Yeah.
Murphy Mason.
Damn.
- Hey! - Hey! Hey.
Sorry, I had this customer who would not leave.
What? I just think you're pretty.
Ew.
(LAUGHS) (CHUCKLES) Where do you want to eat? Oh, do you want to do you want to go eat? - Are we not eating? - (STAMMERS) Yeah, no, obviously, yes, we can go eat.
I'm hap I'm happy to not eat.
I just No.
No, I - Are-are we eating or not? - Uh Maybe later.
Watch you go, go, go, go, go, go - Go, go, go, go, go - (CHUCKLING) Watch you go, go, go, go, go, go Go, go, go, go, go, hey! Can I ask you something? Oh, boy.
How do you get guys to like you? Who are you crushing on? Billy McKenzie.
Okay, what do we know about him? Uh he goes to my school.
Okay.
He's a Cubs fan.
Mm-hmm.
Uh, he works at the mall.
And I love him.
(CHUCKLES) Does he know you exist? He said hi to me on Wednesday.
Whoa.
Sexy.
Well, I think you need to see him outside of school.
Like, have your dad, you know, pretend to drop you off at the mall and, like, run into him or whatever.
Murphy, guys don't talk to girls when they're with their dads.
That's fair.
We could hit the mall now.
First of all, I hate the mall more than anything.
And, second of all, no, I promised your dad.
We're not going anywhere.
It's five minutes.
I don't care.
If I die without kissing a boy, it'll be your fault.
Oh, my God.
You're so manipulative.
All right, get your coat.
(INDISTINCT CHATTER) (PHONE RINGING) This is Becker.
Are you kidding me? Bail was 500 grand.
How did that kid make bail? Thanks, bro.
(LINE RINGING) Come on, come on.
Pick up.
- Go, go, go, go, go, go - (DEAN AND CHELSEA MOANING) Go, go, go, go, go.
Thank you.
Okay.
(EXHALES) We go in, seduce this boy, we leave.
Got it? Yeah.
All right.
Well, this is my personal hell.
Come on.
There.
(WHIMPERS) Why are you stopping? How am I gonna talk to Billy? With your mouth.
Like this.
"Hey, Billy.
It's me, Chloe.
" (WHIMPERS) Oh, geez.
We need to have a serious powwow.
Is that janky amusement park still here? (ORGAN MUSIC PLAYING) Wait, why are you so nervous to talk to a stupid boy? He's not gonna like me.
That's not true.
I like you.
I only like, like, three people.
Why would he want to go out with me when he could go out with, like, a regular girl? Okay, first of all, being regular sucks.
If anyone called me regular, I'd jump off a building.
- (CHUCKLES) - Second of all, we're just as cool as everybody else.
Actually, we're-we're way cooler than everybody else.
- I don't know.
- I mean, look at us.
We-we snuck out.
We're at the mall.
We're riding these dumb horse things.
My God, I solved a murder today.
Your dad can't even do that.
- He actually solves a lot.
- Okay, the the point is, we're badass women, you and I.
Okay? And if he doesn't like you, there's millions of other dudes who will.
Really? Yes.
So let's just let's go do this before your dad comes back and kills me.
No.
I hate my outfit.
My dad picked it out.
Oh, geez.
Oh, my God, I just heard myself.
(GROANS) I'm so lame.
Don't call my friend lame.
If you hate your outfit so much, let's just go get another one somewhere.
Really? ("GINGER" BY RITON & KAH-LO PLAYING) I woke up one day and planned to get reckless Felt myself and put on my best necklace Posted in the group chat, "Who wants to faaji?" They were only down for the after-party Hmm, my body is ready and it's sweeting me like I have Jedi-jedi, who else would be hype? Who has the ginger? BILLY: Sample a kabab? - Uh, sample a kabab? - I'm good.
- Oh, my God, oh, my God, that's him.
- What? That's him.
All right.
(CLEARS THROAT) - Sample a kabab? - What did I teach you? I am a badass woman.
Go get him.
Sample a kabab? MAN: I will.
Thank you.
Sample a kabab, sir? No, thanks.
Chloe? Yeah.
Hi.
You want a kabab? No.
I don't actually even like kababs.
Oh.
Uh, if you don't like kababs, then why are you here? Oh! Um cool.
So, have you worked here long? Uh, not too long.
Like, a year.
Nice.
Have you been on the merry-go-round upstairs? Uh, yeah, I was on it once this past summer, I think.
CHLOE: Yeah, it's a lot faster than I expected.
Yeah.
Yeah, it is.
Yeah.
Well, I'll see you later.
Uh, maybe we could hang out sometime? Uh, I-I could text you.
Yeah.
That'd be cool.
BILLY: Cool.
Well, see you later.
Oh, my God, oh, my God.
He said he's gonna text me.
Oh! Oh, my God.
Well, he has good taste.
(CHUCKLES) Tell me you got some more evidence off Tyson's body.
This case is gonna have to be bulletproof.
Looks like Wesley has friends in high places.
Well, there's no DNA.
Whoever the killer was, they knew what they were doing.
- Damn it.
- On the upside, the bruising to the throat from the strangulation was significant, and I was able to construct an outline of the killer's hands.
It's not enough for a conviction, but It's something.
Send it over.
Will do.
(DOOR OPENS) You know, if you wanted to see me, you could just send me a text.
Stop it.
Not here.
Oh, okay.
We got, uh, Detective Jules today.
I need you to tell me what kind of gun Wesley Moreno carries.
How would I know? You know what kind of guns all your runners carry.
I don't have runners.
Hold up.
Well, why you asking about Wesley? Didn't you already put him away? Oh, my God, he's out, isn't he? I just need you to tell me what kind of gun he carries, Darnell.
How did he get out? He made bail.
Nia paid it.
I got to go.
Wait, what? Where you going? We're not done here.
You don't understand.
Nia has his back, and she knows who I.
D.
'd him.
D Don't do anything stupid.
(HORN HONKS) Oh.
There's our Uber.
- Go for it.
- (GRUNTS) Thank you.
For Murphy, right? MAN: Mm-hmm.
(SIGHS) How come he hasn't texted me yet? Because it's been, like, a minute.
Just wait till 2:00 a.
m.
, okay? He'll be texting up a storm.
(CHUCKLES) (PHONE BUZZING) Hello? Hi, this is Joey, your Uber driver.
Where are you? Where am I? I'm in the car.
MAN: Come on, Murphy.
Don't you recognize my voice? Oh, my God.
(LOCKS CLICK) CHLOE: Murphy, what's going on? MURPHY: Look, this has nothing to do with the kid.
Okay? Let her go.
Please.
(PANTING) (QUIETLY): It's okay.
It's gonna be okay.
FELIX: Oh, hey, man.
Um, actually, all visitors have to sign in.
It's, like, this policy we - Where's Murphy? - What's going on? Wesley's out of jail, and he knows she I.
D.
'd him.
- Oh, my God.
- She's not at home.
She's not answering her calls.
- Do you still track Murphy's cell? - Yeah.
- Give me the phone.
- No, I'm-I'm going with you.
- Jess, no.
- Max, I'm not asking.
- I'm gonna go, Max.
Max.
- Just give me the phone.
Max! Max! Hey, there's something wrong with your car.
- Smoke's coming out of the hood.
- Great.
Okay, everyone needs badges.
- So, I just need your names and, uh - Let's go.
- Blue car out front.
- First names, last names.
And if you just Jess, what about our appointment? (EXHALES) Wow.
Yeah.
(LAUGHS) Um are you, like you're Am I the only person you're doing this with? Well, you're the only person I want to do this with.
Good.
I should check on Chloe.
Um, I I am so sorry.
I got to go.
- Seriously? - Just, um, help yourself to anything.
Lock the door on the way out.
I'll-I'll call you later, okay? - Who is she again? - Jess, hi.
Murphy's best friend.
- And who are you? - I'm Darnell.
I'm Murphy's I'm Darnell.
Darnell, right.
Well, it's nice to finally meet you.
Jess, can you break the speed limit, please? We need to go faster.
Jess, where did you go? Why aren't you answering your phone? You just ditched work, and now I am buying drugs alone.
Delete this voice mail.
Hi.
How you doing? Hi.
Hi.
Oh Look, I get what you're doing, but I can't really be hit on right now.
I'm kind of in the middle of something.
Yeah.
Buying weed? Um, no.
Absolutely not.
You got my number from Jess.
She sent a picture of you.
Oh.
Oh.
So you're the Huh.
Okay.
Uh, well, do you do you have the, um the stuff? 'Cause I-I got the, uh the money.
(CHUCKLES) Okay, El Chapo.
So, to be clear, you weren't hitting on me? 'Cause we could - exchange numbers or - No.
Or we can just exchange the drugs.
That's cool, too.
Uh, how much is it? Get out the car.
I said get out! - Okay.
- Okay.
- Um - Just do what he says.
Kill me or whatever, but not her.
She's a kid.
Come on.
(SIRENS WAILING) What the hell? You bitch! (GRUNTS) Look.
It kind of looks like a two-year-old wrote it.
- I'm gonna be honest.
- Thank you.
Okay.
Here.
Try this.
(CHUCKLES) I want you to use your finger as a guide.
Now we're talking.
JESS: Is this fast enough for you, Max? MAX: You want to drive and navigate at the same time? JESS: No, that's your job, thank you.
MAX: It says she's close.
Somewhere up here.
Do you see her? - No.
- No.
I There he is.
There's that son of a bitch right there.
Go, go, go, go, go! (ENGINE REVVING) - JESS: Wh-What should I do? - MAX: Catch up to him, Jess.
- DARNELL: Follow him! - JESS: I am following him.
MAX: Don't lose him, Jess.
Come on.
I'm not.
I'm going as fast as I can.
- He's taking a right up here.
- I know.
- Take this right.
Turn, Turn.
- Okay, okay, I'm turning.
- Gun! - Oh, my God! - Oh, my God! - (CLICK) - Stop the car, stop the car.
- Okay, okay, okay.
- Please - (GRUNTS) - Where's Murphy? - I don't know, man.
- I don't know what you're - (GRUNTS) (PANTING) Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
- Is-is he dead? - He's not dead.
- He's just out.
- Okay.
- So we need to go to the police.
- All right, Jess.
- We're not going to the police.
- Please do not kill him.
What? No.
Darnell, no.
What do you want from me? - Get him out.
- No.
Are you okay? That's a stupid question.
I know you're not okay.
But but are you okay? I'm fine.
(SNIFFLES) That was really scary.
So it's okay to be scared.
What are we gonna tell my dad? (SNIFFLES) Pretty sure he already knows about this.
(GROANS) So, I just want you guys to be aware that there is a human man in my trunk.
- I'm so glad she came.
- Yeah I'm really glad - I came, too, Darnell.
- MAX: Jess, please stop.
Fine, fine.
We'll take him back to the city, - figure it out there.
- So we're gonna Let me just reiterate this.
We're gonna drive all the way back to the city - with a human man in my trunk? - Why do you keep saying that - Hey! - Hey.
- DARNELL: Hey! - MAX: Hey, stop! - Hey! Stop! - Hey! - MAX: Hey! - DARNELL: Stop! (HORN HONKING) (GASPS) Come on.
Come on! Hey! Jess, get in the car.
Let's go.
Jess, right now.
Let's go! - Chloe, can you wait here, please? - But I asked you to wait here for just a minute.
(GROANS) - Thank you for picking us up.
- Yep.
- I know that you're mad.
- (SCOFFS) Yeah.
So, uh, we're done.
Done? What do you mean, done? I think it would be best if I don't see you if Chloe doesn't see you anymore.
- Seriously? Come on.
- You could have gotten her killed.
MURPHY: Me? You-you told me I was safe.
You said that that lineup was confidential.
I don't know what happened there, all right? But the point is, you couldn't do something as simple as sitting in a living room for a couple hours? Yeah, so you could go have sex with Chelsea.
Do me a favor stay away from us.
Delivery.
(CHUCKLES) Oh oh, you are the best.
(SNIFFS) Nice.
Uh, what do I owe you? It's actually, um on me.
Really? Dude, that's so nice.
Thank you.
Thank you.
No worries.
Oh, hey.
Um I was actually going to roll a joint right now.
Do do you want? Oh, you want you want me to smoke with you? Yeah, s Yeah, sure.
I had a strange - (BELCHES, COUGHS) - (LAUGHS) (GROANS, COUGHS) (SHUDDERS) You could have just told me you don't smoke.
(STRAINED): I've smoked.
Once.
(SNIFFLES) It was a cigarette.
Murphy made me do it.
- (EXHALES) - (CHUCKLES) Lovers (GRUNTS) Oh You okay? Sort of.
All this it's over.
What? I mean, we're completely broke.
You know it.
Guiding Hope is bankrupt.
- But, I mean, I thought - (CLEARS THROAT) Uh, we've been sticking to the budget, and after everyone starts bringing their own bubble water and snacks It's not about the bubble water.
See, it's, uh it's the budget.
It's unsustainable.
- So - No.
No, no.
We (EXHALES) Guiding Hope is my life.
We have to do something.
Well, trust me, I have done everything.
There is nothing left to do.
Wait.
Wait, wait, wait.
Wait, wait, wait.
(CHUCKLES) What are you doing? What are you doing? (EXHALES) (CHUCKLES) (CHUCKLES) (LAUGHING) This is good.
Thank you.
I needed this.
I'm gonna buy Guiding Hope.
(LAUGHING) That's more than enough money.
(LAUGHING): Well, I know how much I pay you, so I know that you don't have that kind of money.
Oh, Hank, I'm very rich.
(CHUCKLES) I mean, not me; my family.
But I have this trust fund I'm just gonna sit on.
Might as well use it for a good cause.
You have this much money? Yeah.
(EXHALES) (GIGGLES) So do we have a deal? You have just now become the proud owner of a bankrupt service dog academy.
Congratulations.
(LAUGHING): Okay.
Okay, okay.
Okay, okay, geez.
(LAUGHING): Geez.
DARNELL: You okay? MAX: That was not our fault.
It was no one's fault, okay? You saw it happen.
Yeah.
He tried to kill Murphy.
All right? She told you he put a gun to her head.
He tried to kill your best friend.
I mean, he took out that flower shop guy and Tyson.
Yeah.
His death is nothing but karma.
So what do I do? Nothing.
- But I can't - Jess.
Nothing.
(EXHALES) Hey, I'm assuming that's for you.
Oh.
Is Murphy okay? Yeah.
Yeah, why? You just don't normally show up here without her.
Well, I wanted to come and tell you thank you.
- For what? - For the card that she wrote.
I'm assuming you had something to do with that? Why do you say that? Because you're the only person, besides me, that she lets help her.
(CHUCKLES) Yeah.
She's such an idiot.
Until she does something like this, and then I cry.
- You cried? - Yes.
Oh.
(CHUCKLES) It made Murphy very uncomfortable.
- I know that one.
- (CHUCKLES) WESLEY: Hey, yo, Ty.
I got to take off.
But it was good seeing you.
You, too.
Oh, and, um, happy birthday, by the way.
Yeah.
(FAINT POLICE RADIO CHATTER) You killed Wesley? Technically, Wesley killed Wesley.
Why am I still hanging out with you guys? - I'm gonna go.
- FELIX: Oh, my God.
Thank God you guys are here.
Felix? Wait, Felix is here? I just had the most incredible day of my life.
You're looking at your new boss.
What? What are you talking about? I bought Guiding Hope.
The hell's a Guiding Hope? They tied the gun that was on Wesley to both the Evan and Tyson Murders.
- He killed them both.
- That's what I thought, but What? So, this is the size of the hand - that strangled Tyson Parker.
- Come on.
Tell me you got a match.
This guy may have shot Tyson Parker, but But someone else strangled him.
