Season 4, Episode 3

Previously on
The Amazing Race Australia
In Korea, things got physical
and the cracks began to show.
Come on! Please hurry!
Footy mates Tom and Tyler secured
their second winning leg.
You are the first team to check in.
Yeah!
And the nuns received
their last rites.
You have been eliminated.
Argh!
We had so many amazing experiences.
It really was a gift from God.
Tonight we hit Vietnam
Let's go!
..where one challenge
Oh, my God!
..pushes the teams
to breaking point
..and the twist
leaves someone fuming.
They are next on our hit list.
Yeah.
..before the most epic race
to the pit stop.
We're nearly there.
Go, go!
I love this race so much!
This is the business metropolis,
Seoul, the capital of South Korea.
As the world's most wired city,
Seoul has the fastest Internet speed
on the planet
and it's from here that the teams
are about to begin the third leg
of the Amazing Race Australia.
Nine teams are remaining
and they'll depart in the order
they arrived at the last pit stop.
Tom and Tyler won
the second leg of the race
and they'll depart first.
"Fly to Hanoi,
the capital of Vietnam."
The easternmost country
on the Indo-China Peninsula,
Vietnam is one of only five
communist countries on the planet.
A country with
a strong tradition in Buddhism,
there's over
17,000 of these places.
Better than my reno.
And it's the next stop for
The Amazing Race Australia.
"Fly to Hanoi, the capital
of Vietnam." Yes, come on!
Yes!
Vietnam. Let's go, baby!
We both are of Vietnamese descent.
Our parents came to Melbourne
with their families in the ''80s
when they were teenagers.
Definitely proud
of our Vietnamese heritage.
I definitely love the fact I get
the best of both worlds,
growing up in a western culture,
but also having the Vietnamese
side of it as well.
If anything is going to help us
in this leg
it's definitely
the Vietnamese language.
I can speak and understand
Vietnamese,
so super, super stoked.
Vietnam! Let's go!
I've always wanted to go to Vietnam
so I'm stoked that we're going.
"Fly to Hanoi,
the capital of Vietnam."
Vietnam.
Vietnam.
Nice, let's go.
Airport. Fly?
Get in, get in.
We're off to Vietnam.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
I'm divorced and I have
an ex-husband
and we have three kids together.
The kids are grown up.
I've opened my own businesses
and haven't had time to travel
or do anything and
I've always wanted to do that.
She's always had to work
hard for us.
And I think this break
would be amazing for her.
It wouldn't really be
a break, but
She's the strongest person I know
and she's very inspiring to me.
I'll cash you up later, yeah?
We know nothing about you,
but we love you already.
All teams are now on the same flight
from Seoul to Hanoi, Vietnam.
This city is 1,000 years old
and it's full of ancient landmarks,
high-tech skyscrapers
and nonstop nightlife.
Where is this taxi? Yeah.
Taxi! Taxi!
Quick, quick, quick!
Here we go. Here we go.
Thang Long Theatre.
Teams are now racing
to Thang Long Theatre.
Out the front is this sign-up board
where they'll sign up for
one of three shows the next day.
And it's first in, best dressed.
Three teams per show with
a 10-minute gap in between.
So if they want to get
their next clue first,
they'd better get here fast.
Get in!
Thank you, thank you.
How are you, mate?
Come on, we need to go.
We need to get there quickly.
We ended up leaving second last,
and saw Viv and Joey
pass us, so we're dead last now.
I think it was that that one.
Yeah.
They've just gone a different way.
That's a worry.
We'll get out here.
OK, Thank you. Thank you.
Show one.
Open at 6.30.
Sid and Ash, number one.
Go, go, go. Get your bag.
Get your bag!
So we're in the first show.
That's good.
Woo!
We got it. Yay, team! Whoo-hoo!
Come on!
Yes! Woo!
Hey, hey!
Ah!
The place is closed.
We were the third team
to arrive there,
so that means we got
onto the first show.
Gave us a massive advantage.
Where are Tom and Tyler?
I feel like they might
have gotten lost.
Alright, let's go, let's go,
let's go, let's go.
- Hey, guys.
- Hey.
We got the second show, Tim.
It's good.
There are
so many people up here.
Hey, girls.
Alright, guys?
- Where is it?
- Huh? It's back that way?
Chris, where are you? Come on!
Go, boys, go, boys!
To the right!
Stop! Stop! Stop!
Oh!
We're in the last group.
Oh, we're in the last show.
Come on. Come on!
"AD" will have to do.
Tomorrow, we can't have
any stuff ups.
We need to be pretty spot on
tomorrow and hopefully
we can get lucky and have a driver
that isn't sleeping
while he's driving the car.
Happy birthday!
Mikayla's birthday day!
Whoo-hoo! We woke up in Vietnam
on my birthday.
Adrenaline was high,
we're on the first show.
We thought, "OK, sweet,
we're finally going to be able
"to show people what's up."
"You may find a local
from outside if you need help."
Perfect.
Cool.
Our racers know that
to find their next clue
to this traditional
water puppet show,
but they don't know exactly
what they're looking for.
Well, on the necks of
these four dragon puppets
are four Vietnamese words.
The words are
Put the words together
and it's the name
of their next destination.
Giap Bat bus station.
Alright, let's watch.
Yeah.
Alright, so, dragons.
Watch it, watch it.
We're watching this puppet
show and we're not sure
what clues we're looking for.
We can't see anything that even
looks like a clue.
Two golden dragons.
So, river dragon.
Two red dragons, two gold dragons.
The gold dragon
is spitting out water..
I need to find someone
with four dragons.
We saw a temple.
We're like, "OK, beautiful.
"All we need do is find a temple
that looks like that temple."
Where's our next clue?
It doesn't say where
our next clue is.
We're so confused.
We haven't worked out
what the clue is.
When we left the puppet show
we were looking for four dragons.
Do you know where there are
two gold dragons?
Is there, like, a statue somewhere?
We had no idea
what we were looking for.
A little bit confused.
Like, "What do we do?
"What's going on here?
You see the names on the dragons?
We realised that the clue
was actually Vietnamese words
on the dragon puppet itself.
B-A-T.
Good luck, guys.
Good luck, all.
What's the plan?
Does it say where we're going?
No. We've got to figure it out.
We should tell the boys.
The dragons,
there are words on them.
There are Vietnamese words
is really strong
at this point in time.
I mean, we helped them a lot
in the first leg of the race
and hopefully we can get them back
later down the track.
To work this clue out
I actually used
a lot more Vietnamese
than I thought I would.
To imagine other teams trying
to get through this themselves,
it would have been
really difficult for them.
That says something.
These dragons were, like,
coming in and out
and I'm just there
enjoying the show
and Hayley was like, "Get your
pens out, there are words written."
I'm like, "Oh, OK."
Dragon It says 'X'.
The other one says 'Giap'.
There you go.
'Xe' on that one.
Yeah.
'Ben' and 'Giap'.
What?
'Ben' and 'Giap'.
Sweet, let's do it.
We need to find this place.
Here, come, Hayley.
Go, go, go.
What does this say?
Ah, OK, yeah.
You got it?
How far? Five minutes?
We're putting a lot of trust
in the taxidriver now,
hoping that this is the right way.
It's either going
to make or break us.
Do you know what, 'Xe', 'Giap'
then 'Bat' means?
What is he saying?
The same, the same.
Go to the taxi and say them
go to the Giap Bat.
Alright, these girls
have figured it out.
He knows?
I have told him.
So we followed them and
went straight for those cabs.
Can you write down the same place
that you told the girls?
He's helping everyone now.
Bus station Giap Bat.
What is that?
I reckon that's
where the next clue is
and we have to get on a bus
to go somewhere.
I don't reckon it's here.
Do you reckon?
Bus!
Bus, mate, quick!
We have to beat them. Get going! Go!
Go! Go!
Does anyone have a clue for us?
No.
You don't see clues?
That's not it.
There's nothing there.
I don't know.
Would you guys know any riverbanks?
I mean, any river dragons?
Maybe the clue is back there,
maybe we missed something.
I think we should go back
and watch the puppet show again.
Do you have a clue for us?
No, he doesn't.
No? OK.
We think we've figured out
our first clue.
So, we're just heading to the
bus station to find the next one.
Hopefully we've got a massive lead,
but, again, I'm still
really, really nervous.
I just don't know.
What a bloody mess.
Oh! Oh, jeez!
Thank you very much.
Thank you very much.
Yes!
Love it!
Yes! Yes! Come on!
Come on!
So stoked!
Yes!
Yes!
"Take a bus to"
Teams now have to take
a two-hour bus ride
to the farming town of Ninh Binh.
Once there, they'll
have to make their detour decision.
A detour is a choice
between two tasks,
each with its own pros and cons.
The French colonized Vietnam
in the late 1800s
and with them brought
a taste for snails.
This detour requires teams
to forage through these paddy fields
and harvest 100 of these
slippery little suckers.
Unlike snails, speed is of the
essence to get your next clue.
In Make Boat Go teams have got
to row Vietnamese style
across this river to that rock.
That's where their
next clue is waiting.
Sounds easy, right?
This is Vietnamese style.
Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
Over there!
Where? Run!
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
Mikkie, Mikkie!
Oh, perfect.
Here we go.
"Take a bus to Ninh Binh"?
OK. Let's go.
OK, it's nice to get on
the same bus.
Let's go now.
Let's go, let's go.
Let's go. How are we doing?
Well done, well done.
Good work, teams.
To the top!
Started at the bottom now,
now we're here.
Nice.
Thanks for helping us
back there.
That's alright.
Some teams could be there
for a very long time.
Rod!
Should we ask them? Oi! Boys!
What do you think?
Um, two teams just hoped in a taxi
and went to a bus stop.
Tim and Rod were like,
"We know where to go."
And we were like,
"OK, because we have no idea."
And then we all were just like,
"Let's do this together."
Let's do this.
You guys jump in the cab.
We follow you guys. OK? Done.
Yeah.
Do you know it? Yeah?
We want to make a bit of an alliance
with Sid and Ash
just to get through this leg.
I don't think we're going to
get through by ourselves
on this one,
everyone is so confused.
All I knew was I needed
to get back into the puppet show
and find out what went wrong.
There's something on their necks.
- It says 'Giap'.
- Yes.
That's the name we need to go to.
"Take a bus to Ninh Binh."
Whoo! Let's go, let's go, let's go!
Oi! Come on!
Quick, get in, get in!
I just don't want any other teams
getting on this bus.
Guys, we're on! Yes!
Hey, shall we all duck down
so no other teams see us?
We'll just pull the door shut!
This bus is full!
We'll get off here.
Go, Hayley!
The detour today was either snails
or a row boat.
I was worried about doing
the row boat
because I was imagining
using your arms.
We don't have any upper
body strength.
Here we go!
When we got to Ninh Binh we went
to the snail-picking challenge.
Yeah, I've tossed back a couple
of snails in my day in France, so
Tossed back
..over your shoulder!
We've decided we're going
to do the escargot.
I don't think too often
in our lifetimes
we'll be picking snails in Vietnam,
but we have to and
we've got to find 100 of them.
Ooh! Good start!
Good start!
It's getting real dirty in here.
Oh, it's disgusting down here.
Is it alright, boys?
Yeah, it's fun.
Oh, it's nice in here.
Whoo-hoo! Ooh!
We need to get heaps before they get
in here and start taking them all.
This is deep!
Oh, my God!
Oh, not the hat!
Oh, God.
I'm, like, drowning.
The rice paddy,
was a lot deeper than we thought.
So, being short-statured,
the mud went pretty high up
our waists.
This is hard.
- There's the temple.
- Mm-hm.
So we haven't found it
and we spent already half an hour.
Completely lost our lead.
Apparently, there are
many, many temples in Vietnam.
Lost in Hanoi. How Hannoying!
This is glorious!
Over here, Hayley.
We loved the snails.
When we were growing up,
we used to always go
Go yabby hunting.
..go yabby hunting.
So you'd always get in the mud,
pick them all up.
Are we going to count?
Yeah.
Hello!
Hello.
Can we
Thank you!
Thank you!
Well done, girls.
We were sitting in number one.
We beat Tom and Tyler. Whoo-hoo!
"Make your way to Ben Tam Coc
and search for your next clue."
Let's go!
Alright, let's go.
Now teams have to travel to Tam Coc
Wharf to find their next clue.
They'll also encounter
the first U-turn.
A U-turn allows one team
to force another team
to complete both
of the detour challenges.
It's a massive strategic advantage,
but it can earn you an enemy.
Let the mind games begin.
- Oh, my God.
- Oh, my God.
I just feel
incredibly stitched up right now.
Like, I don't even know
what to say, but
We realised
that we were completely lost,
so we went back
to the water puppet show.
We're like, "OK, let's really focus
on what's actually going on."
What?
X? They've got tags on them.
Oh, my God!
B-A-T.
B-A-T.
Oh, my God!
Does this make sense?
What is it? What is it?
Is it a temple?
No, it's, umbus station.
What? It's a bus station?
Yes.
It's a bus station.
Bus station.
It's a bus station.
Oh, shit!
Well done, guys.
Finally, we're on the bus,
so that's a relief.
You keep fighting to the end.
Yeah.
You never know what might happen.
There are two teams on the bus.
So, it's still a competition.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Over there! Over there!
"Take a bus to Ninh Binh."
Thank you.
Right, Ty, that'll be enough.
Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you very much.
"Make your way to Ben Tam Coc
and search for your next clue."
Thank you.
- Yes! Thank you.
- Thank you.
Alright, cool.
Thank you.
Ooh, U-Turn!
I'm feeling pretty calm,
so I say we leave it for today.
We're not going
to U-turn anyone.
We're going to leave it.
We were only going to U-turn someone
if we knew we were
at the back of the pack,
and it was either us or them
to go home.
Strategically, there's no point
doing it to someone
that's middle of the pack
and could come back and bite you.
Whoo-hoo!
Road Block!
"Who's feeling lucky?"
I'm feeling lucky.
A Road Block is a challenge that
only one team member can complete,
and they have to choose who does it
without knowing
what the challenge is.
In this restaurant, there are
300 parcels of young green rice.
One member from each team
must eat their way
through a variety of rice parcels
until they find
the ancient Vietnamese coin,
and only then will they receive
their next clue.
There are only nine coins
in these 300 parcels,
and racers have
to completely finish each packet
before they pick a new one.
And there is chilli
in quite a few of these parcels,
and Vietnamese coffee wouldn't be
my first choice of chaser,
but when in Rome, right?
Alrighty, let's go.
OK, let's go.
- Oh, there it is.
- Where?
U-Turn.
We're not going to use the U-Turn.
Tom definitely wanted
to U-turn someone.
I said, "Mate, no,
let's settle down. We're good guys."
No, it was very unanimous.
We weren't U-turning anyone.
Road Block. "Who's feeling lucky?"
Yeah, I guess I'm feeling lucky.
Yeah, you're feeling lucky.
Can you tell him to wait?
Tell him to wait.
Yeah, I did. I did.
OK. Alright, look at that.
We knew we wouldn't be U-turning
the other teams.
We were just a bit stressed
about having a target on our back
at this point.
Road Block, Viv. OK, here we go.
"Who's feeling lucky?"
Viv's going to do this one.
Alright, ready?
Yeah, let's go.
Here you go, Viv.
Yes!
Thank you so much!
Thank you!
"Lang Khanh
Restaurant and Hostel."
We're here.
Let's go.
I'm feeling lucky.
It's my birthday today.
"You must eat any packet you touch
unless the packet contains a coin."
Oh, no coin!
Oh! This is the driest thing
I've ever eaten in my life.
This rice was grainy.
It was dry. It was foul.
Um, excuse me?
Can we?
Is this Ninh Binh now?
Ninh Binh?
Yeah, can we stop here?
Yeah, stop, stop.
Thank you.
Thank you.
So, we jumped out of the bus,
raced right up to the Detour.
We went to the Detour
where you were having
to collect 100 snails
out of this muddy
What would you even call that?
Pit of filth.
We're about to get wet.
Mate, this is a lot of snails.
Make A Boat Go.
It's up there.
I can see it.
It was a Detour.
We'd chosen the rowing.
Yeah.
We need to row the boat
with our feet
across the river to the clue.
Fitness is a huge part of our lives.
We go to the gym seven times a week.
So, when I saw this challenge,
I was like,
"This is going
to be too easy for us."
Yeah.
It
Wait, like that.
No, like that. You go away,
so you have to push with your heel.
It's so hard.
Oh, my God.!
So See, now you're
We're turning.
You could have done
the exact same way to go that way.
Alright, why don't
you try it, then?
There was no way that we were going
to be able to do this.
It just seemed impossible.
Sid, we're wasting our time.
I want to go to Escargot.
OK.
We realised that
we should switch the Detours.
What are you doing?!
I'm like, "We're not rowing back.
We're catching snails today."
Here we go. Alright, let's go.
Teams ahead of us
chose not to use the U-Turn.
What do you want to do?
I
Talk to me, babe.
I really don't know.
What do you reckon?
I've definitely held a grudge
since Leg 1.
Ash gave us a sneaky dummy
and told us the wrong instructions.
Just do it.
It's a big call, babe, early on.
They were trying to slow us down,
but this U-Turn will slow them down.
Whichever Detour they didn't do,
they'll have to do it now.
You know what? It's a game.
They played their card early.
Let's play ours
and show them we mean business.
Yeah.
It has chilli!
I can't do chilli!
The Road Block turned out
to be an eating challenge,
so I had to search through
the most disgusting rice
you've ever had in your life
..for a lucky coin.
Oh!
There it is. There it is.
Right here. See?
Just smack them out, Tommy.
Free lunch.
Nice?
This is the driest thing
I've ever eaten in my life.
Oh, what the hell?!
What?
Oh! It's come out straightaway!
"What is this? Is this a coin?"
Doesn't have to eat any rice.
It's just pure luck.
Thank you. Thank you very much.
Thank you. Thank you.
I think it was
a big slap in the face
when I opened my first
and I got the coin.
It's also her birthday as well.
Really crushed her party, yeah.
Yeah, we'll send her a present
when we get home.
Yeah. Sorry, Mikayla.
Probably won't be a bag of rice.
"Make your way to Hang Mua
and search Moc Hoa Vien
"for Beau at your next Pit Stop.
"Hurry! The last team to check in
may be eliminated."
Teams now have to race by taxi
to the sprawling grounds of Hung Mua.
There, they have to find
the correct path
to reach the Pit Stop.
The wrong path
could take them to the summit.
Remember, the last team to check in
may be eliminated.
And this will be the backdrop
for the third Pit Stop
of The Amazing Race Australia.
Let's go!
Let's go! Let's go!
You're going
to smash this, babe.
Come on, babe. It's our lucky day.
Whoo!
Lucky, lucky.
Alright.
Just think,
this is your lunch, babe.
Chow down, babe.
Oh, thank God
I didn't eat much today.
Hey.
Hey, Viv.
Pull up a seat, Joey.
Ooh, that is dry!
This challenge sucks.
Yes!
Whoo-hoo!
"Make your way to Ben Tam Coc."
OK, let's go. Come on.
Alright, I reckon I've got it.
I've got heaps.
- Do you want to go for a count?
- Yeah.
Yay!
Thank you! Escargot for the win!
Oh!
Let it out, sis. Let it out.
- Oh! Joey, there is one in this! Yes!
- Yeah!
Yes! Whoo-hoo!
Well done. Well done. Well done.
Good. Ooh, you're bloated.
Sorry, guys.
I'm sorry, guys!
Keep going. Keep going. Be strong.
"Make your way to Hang Mua
"and search Moc Hoa Vien for Beau
at your next Pit Stop.
"Hurry! The last team to check in
may be eliminated."
Well done.
Oh, thank God!
Hello. Hello, hello.
Arrgh! Yes!
Arrgh!
Oh, my God! We've got to go back
and do that rowing thing.
We got a U-Turn by Jasmin and Jerome
because, in the first leg,
we told Jasmin and Jerome
that they were going the wrong way.
We misled them.
And if that means that they're going
to be gullible enough to believe us,
that's their problem.
Completely.
I totally understand
why they U-turned us
from a level of, like,
of course we're threats.
Envy is a bitch.

# Num, num, num, num, num, num
Num, num ♪
I like this. It's very pretty.
Ooh! And this one. Ooh!
While I was struggling through
the rice challenge,
a little girl
wandered into the restaurant.
She may have been
close to our son's age.
Seeing that little girl
interacting with Jasmin
started to get me
a little bit emotional.
I think, you know,
"Why are we doing this challenge?"
You know,
we're doing it for our son.
As hard as it is to leave our boy
for such a long period of time,
I think, when he's able
to watch this show
and see all of the crazy adventures
his parents had,
I think he'll be so proud of us.
Here it is! Here it is!
Hey, boys.
Oh, my God. What is it?
This is your worst nightmare.
Just choose whichever one's
calling your name, mate.
Whichever one's calling your name.
No way!
No way!
You are so lucky.
Yes!
"Make your way to Hang Mua.
"Hurry! The last team to check in
may be eliminated."
Oh, my God. I can't believe
we have to do this all again.
Where are the clues?
Who do we see about the boat?
Come on!
Then Chris and Adrienne came,
and Rowah and Amani.
Amani, come on.
OK, we're trying to go there.
We were getting really frustrated.
We knew we definitely were
at the bottom end.
! We can't be last.
We potentially could be eliminated.

We'd already tried rowing,
and then Jasmin and Jerome
U-turned us.
We were getting really frustrated.
We knew we definitely were

Alright, it's with your feet.
Hands off!
Yeah, good girl. Good girl. Get out.
Get out. Good girl. Good girl.
Get it right, Chris. Just your toes.
One foot at a time, not two.
Will you stop criticising me?
No, just listen. I'm not!
I'm not criticising you.
I'm trying to offer you suggestions.
So, which way?
Am I going the wrong way?
You're going the wrong way.
You're pedalling towards there
and we're drifting.
We just need to calm down
and execute on this.
Good girl. You've got this, Ash.
You've got this.
Finally, we get to Ninh Binh.
The Detour was either the Escargot
or Make Boat Go.
We chose Escargot.
Let's go fast, fast. 100!
We wasted a lot of time,
but now, we're just going
to race a lot harder.
How many have you got, bro?
Got a lot?
I've got a few, to be honest.
We came here to win.
Like, stuff everything else.
Let's go. Let's go. Let's go.
Push! Push!
I want to catch up.
I want to catch up. I know.
We're on our way to the Pit Stop
and we're hoping we've caught up
with Tom and Tyler.
We've had shocking luck
with cab drivers this leg,
so we're hoping
we're going the right way.
Let's go.
Let's do it.
Got the packs?
Yeah.
Do you reckon this is definitely
the right place?
Let's go. Let's go.
Let's go.
Keep a lookout.
Slow down. Slow down. Slow down.
Wait, what were
we searching for again?
Looking for Beau.
Over there. Over there. Over there.
Over there. Can you see him?
Oi! Oi!
Oh, here we go. Here we go.
Got a visual.
Here we go.
Good boy.
Beau, Beau, Beau.
Beau.
Welcome to Ninh Binh, Vietnam.
Thank you.
Tommy, Tyler, you are
..the first team to check in again.
Yes! Yes!
Good work.
Being the only team
to have won so far
does put a target on your back,
but we have made good friendships.
They can help us back
if we might be struggling
in further legs.
Nearly there. Come on! Come on!
- Welcome to Ninh Binh, Vietnam.
- Thank you.
Viv and Joey, you are
..the second team to check in again.
Yes!
Well done. Oh, what a day!
Well done. Awesome. Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Even with our Vietnamese heritage,
we still couldn't catch up
with Tom and Tyler.
We'll get them at some point.
We'll get them,
but, you know, just
Still! In Vietnam! This was our leg!
Yes!
You've got this.
You've got this, Ash.
! You've got this, Ahh.
Yes!
"Make your way to Ben Tam Coc
and search for your next clue."
Let's go.
Whoo!
Let's go, babe. Let's go.
This is it. This has got to be it.
Oh, yes!
Yes!
Good work.
I'm proud of you.
Alright, we're next. We're next.
I'm feeling lucky.
Yes!
You alright? Aw, come here.
You did so well.
I'm so proud of you.
That Road Block
was my worst nightmare.
On your birthday.
On my birthday.
Hopefully, my birthday
gets better from here.
Hopefully, we're not eliminated
for your birthday.
Yeah.
We're nearly there,
Chris. Nearly there.
- OK, now you've got to go back.
- Yeah.
- Yeah, I'm turning around.
- OK. OK.
You've got it. We're nearly there.
Yes! OK. OK.
Take us back, Amani.
Turn it around, baby girl.
"Make your way to Ben Tam Coc."
"Search for your next clue."
OK.
"You must eat all the contents
of each packet you choose,
"unless the packet contains a coin."
Yeah.
Alright.
Oh, my God. This is actually hell.
Arrgh! Ironman!
HE LAUGHS
Thank you.
Thank you.
I think we did that pretty quickly.
We did that pretty quick, yeah.
We're really pushing
the momentum now, so
We'll see how we go.
- Lang Khanh!
- Lang Khanh.
It's here.
Here we go.
Quick, Sid. Quick.
Come on, Amani.
Pick one and start earing. Any one.
OK, go over there.
Go over there and eat.
Mm! Mm!
You got it? Whoo-hoo!
Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you so much.
Keep going, Chris!
Go, go, go, go, go!
I love this race so much!
Whoo!
Hey, Beau. How are you going?
Tim, Rod
Yeah?
..you are the third team to check in.
Well done. Bring it in.
Thanks so much, Beau.
It's a wet T-shirt comp here, eh?
- Thank you.
- Excuse me. Excuse me.
Sorry. Sorry!
Welcome to Ninh Binh, Vietnam.
Thank you.
Oh, thank you.
Jasmin, Jerome,
you are the fourth team to check in.
Oh, my God!
Babe!
Good job.
Oh, my God!
How are you feeling?
Yeah, it was really challenging.
Started to get a bit emotional
seeing a little girl come over
and just start playing with Jasmin,
probably around the same age
as our son,
so had to just keep
eating that rice,
keep working hard for him.
Bring it in, guys.
Good job.
So good to see you, mate.
Good job. Yeah.
Alright, get out of here.
Look at that.
Do you have kids?
Yeah.
Yeah. That's good.
Whoo-hoo!
Whoo!
Hayley and Mikayla,
you are the fifth team to check in.
Whoo-hoo!
Come on, Chris. You've got
to get through as many as you can.
Just eat as fast as you can.
Oh!
Is there chilli?
Yeah.
Ah!
Just eat it. Come on. Just eat it!
You've got it, baby girl.
You're amazing.
Come on. Why are you chewing?
Open the next one.
Open the next one!
I feel like I need to vomit.
Coffee does make the vomit coming up
a little bit smoother.
Oh, my stomach is killing me.
Keep going, Amani. I'm so sorry.
Please! Please!
You've got it. Come on, habibi.
Bismillah. Come on.
I'm so proud of you.
Oh, wow. Is that it?
Yeah, looks like.
You've got new contestants
coming in.
Hi. Hi. Hi. Hi. G'day.
What's going on?
Come on, Fami, man.
We're still in this.
You've got this. Come on.
Oh, this is taking forever.
Surely the odds
are in your favour, Chris.
Yes!
Yes!
You drink.
Oh, thank God.
We got it. We got it, Ash.
We had a fairly big lead.
And we assumed that
the Pit Stop was up the top
of the mountain.
All the way up?
I don't know.
So, we just climbed all the stairs
up some mountain in Vietnam.
Is it really up here?
Yes. Yes. Keep going.
There's no marker, though.
We knew we had to keep that lead.
Let's go. Keep moving, Ash.
We didn't know whether or not
we were actually close
to our Pit Stop,
so we decided
to keep pushing forward.
It's up here, hey?
Yeah.
Has to be.
It's up here, hey?
Yeah.
Has to be.
We assumed that the Pit Stop
was up the top of the mountain.
We didn't know whether or not
we were actually close.
We knew we had to keep that lead.
Let's ask someone.
Yeah.
Ask someone, Ash.
Have we passed it?
I think we've gone too far.
Hang Mua?
Sure it wasn't back that way?
Ah.
I think we passed it.
Passed it? Yes.
If those other two
suddenly get a coin,
we're definitely in trouble.
Don't say that.
Pit Stop. Pit Stop.
Femi, come on. Pit Stop.
Arrgh!
It's chilli.
That's it. Throw it up.
Throw it up if you need to,
baby girl.
The challenge is on now.
It's between Amani and Femi.
They're trying to find a coin.
The next stop
has to be the Pit Stop.
They're going to get us, Femi.
Come on!
You've got this, bro.
That's right. That's it. This is it.
Yes!
Yes! Come on! Come on!
I told you!
Arrgh!
Arrgh!
I told you!
Ho-ho! Ha-ha! My mouth!
"Make your way to Hang Mua.
"Hurry! The last team to check in
may be eliminated."
Come on. Let's go.
- I don't want to do it anymore.
- You can do it, habibi.
Finish this one off. You've got it.
Try to open one more.
No.
I'm not letting you give up.
You're not someone that gives up.
You can do it. Take your time.
Let's go. Let's go.
- It's another cab?
- Yeah.
I don't know what happened,
but we actually see
Chris and Adrienne
on the way there as well.
We've gotneed Moc Hoa Vien.
No.
Is this Moc Vien? Where is it?
Over this way, ma'am.
That way? OK.
We need to go back 200 metres.
Do you understand?
Here?
Yeah. Can you turn around?
Go, go, go. Let's go, let's go.
They've got to turn around.
We don't.
Yeah, we don't. Come on. Let's go.
Let's go.
Quick, quick,
quick, quick, quick!
Whatever happens, you did amazing,
you were fantastic
and I'm proud of you.
Do you know whereabouts it is -
the Moc Hoa Vien?
Just right there.
Right down to the ground?
We asked for help when
we were at the top of the mountain.
A local person was like,
"No, it's down," and we were like
sake!
My face would like to explode.
We're looking for a sign
for Moc Hoa Vien.
Oh, where is it?
We can beat them in a foot race.
Toe to toe,
we can beat them in a foot race.
I think that's it.
"Hang Mua Parking." Yes!
Just here! Just here! Just here!
There's the other teams, Amani.
They've just been dropped off.
- There's teams coming in.
- Is there? Where?
Yeah. That's Mum & Daughter there.
Where did you see her?
I saw her coming up.
How far down?
Um, a bit.
- Push! Push!
- Where is he?
Search! Search!
I'm going to throw up.
OK. Well, throw up
and then keep going.
- Yeah, up here. Up here.
- Where?
See that bridge up there?
Where?
OK, look to your right.
Now, where that gap is.
Where is it?
It's here.
Sid! Sid!
Welcome to Ninh Binh, Vietnam.
Sid, Ash, you are
the sixth team to check in.
Yeah!
We've pretty much raced twice today
and still managed to come sixth,
so keep throwing shit at us
and see how it plays out.
Where? That way?
Out that way. Beau's out the end there.
Oh, can you see him?
Yeah.
Oh, there he is!
Oh, far out!
Oh, my gosh!
Welcome to Vietnam.
Thank you. Thank you.
Femi and Nick, you are
..the seventh team to check in.
Yes! Yes!
That's it.
I think there were multiple factors,
but, you know, I think I'll say
that was my fault for
Sorry to interrupt. Make some room.
Here they are.
Chris, Adrienne,
you are the eighth team to check in.
We're still here.
We live to fight another day.
We can improve, can't we?
Yeah, yeah. Oh, definitely.
After the day we've had,
we're like, "You know what?
"We could really,
really win this race,"
because if you can go through
what we went through
and actually still be here,
you're doing alright, man.
Alright, let's go, Amani. Come on.
Final leg, baby girl.
Let's do this together.
You did so well.
I'm so proud of you.
No matter what happens,
you're amazing.
Alright, let's jog it.
Let's jog it. Come on, baby.
No, no, no. No, no, please.
We've got this.
Please.
It's OK.
Welcome to Vietnam.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
How are you feeling?
Emotional. Tired.
Mixed emotions, for sure.
Exhausted.
Amani's done so well today.
I'm so proud of her.
So have you.
She'sshe's a machine.
I love you.
I love you more.
Are you alright?
Yeah, we're good. We're good.
Rowah, Amani
Yeah.
..you are the last team to check in.
Yes.
Alright.
It's OK. We're good. We're good.
I've just got one other thing
I want to say to you guys.
Yeah?
That this
Yeah?
..is a non-elimination leg
..and you are still in the race.
Rest, recover, head back,
and I'll see you guys very shortly.
Thank you so much. Thank you.
And you will still continue racing.
Well done, girls.
Awesome.
Thank you.
Top effort.
Yes! Whoo!
Thank you.
Next time
on The Amazing Race Australia,
in the hills of northern Vietnam
Hey, you can't turn the scales
around. Those are the rules.
..the temperature explodes
Oh, come on!
They're changing the scales around.
Excuse me.
Stop cheating!
Oh! Hey!
Don't get on the wrong side
of this one.
Definitely saw another side
of the old duck.
..as, this time
Oh, !
Yeah, this is not looking good.
..there are no second chances.
Are you OK?
You are eliminated.
Your time on the race is over.
