1
[theme music]
(male narrator)Up and at 'em, it's Atom Ant.
He's strength, he's might
he's speed, he's fight.
He's Atom Ant,that tiny ant
and his atomic power
has what it takesand always makes
the vilest villain cower.
He's rough, he's tough
and bad guys yell enough
when he is up and at 'em
Atom Ant.
[music continues]
thud
[whooshing]
clang clang clang
boom
[instrumental music]
[instrumental music]
[chuckles]
What better place than
the Natural History Museum
to find a subject
for my grand experiment.
And there it is.
[chuckles]
'The magnificent
prehistoric pterodactyl'
largest bird
which once ever lived.
The perfect experiment
at which to try
my new bring-'em-back-to-life
juice.
sploosh
Don't worry, Pterry
this wouldn't hurt a bit.
sploosh
[rattling]
Yeow!
It worked!
It worked!
My bring-'em-back-to-life juice
brought him back to life.
With his strength
and my brains
we ought to make good
as bad guys.
- Come, Pterry.
- Ah.
Your master commands..
stomp
creak creak
No doubt, it'll take
a little time to teach him
who's boss around here.
Pterry, come back.
And that's an order.
[glass shattering]
screech
Oh, well, looks like
another one of
my colossal schemes
just flew the coop.
[cawing]
My goodness, he's growing.
I must've put too much
of that new breakfast cereal
in my bring-'em-back-to-life
juice.
[cracking]
[cawing]
[instrumental music]
Look, a giant bird.
Wow. What are they putting
in birdseed these days?
[cawing]
(male #1)
'Wow. It's for real.'
thud thud
thud
- He's wrecking the city.
- Look.
'He's on the new bridge.'
[cawing]
splash
Run for your lives.
splash
He's heading this way.
[cawing]
stomp stomp
[rumbling]
It's an emergency,
Mr. Mayor.
The city's being wrecked
by a giant bird
and we don't know
how to stop him.
[rumbling continues]
I know someone
who can stop him, chief.
The giant among giants,
that crusader against crime
that righter of all wrongs
Atom Ant.
(Atom)
'One, two.
One, two. One, two.'
One, two.
One, two. One, two.
One, two.
One, two. One, two.
Gotta keep the old muscles
tuned up, you know?
[beeping]
Uh-oh, it's the mayor's
secret distress signal.
- What's wrong, Mr. Mayor?
- We need your help, Atom Ant.
'A giant bird is messing up
the Metropolis.'
Harassing the hamlet, eh?
Be right there, Your Honor.
whoosh
Up and at 'em, Atom Ant.
chomp chomp chomp
[gulps]
chomp chomp
Hey, you gargantuan
goony bird
who let you
out of your cage?
Hey, watch it.
[thud]
I should have kept
my eye on him.
stomp
[grunts]
My exercises
sure keep me in good shape.
I have quick recovery.
[cawing]
How does that flip you?
thud
If that doesn't do the trick
maybe I'll have to drive home
a few strong points.
Up and at 'em, Atom Ant.
boom boom boom boom
[creaking]
[rattling]
That seemed to shake him up.
Now maybe
he'll listen to reason.
Look, fellow,
a big bird like you
just can't go
stomping about on folks.
It just isn't good manners.
How would you like it?
[tapping]
Bothers the sinuses, right?
Now, you listen to me.
And look at me
when I'm talking to you.
That's better.
Now, you king-size canary..
boing
chomp
'Let me out of here,
you preposterous parakeet.'
[sawing]
You ought to be more
careful what you eat.
boing boing
Some things
may not agree with you
like this punch.
bam
Oh, coming back
for seconds, eh?
[crumbling]
[cawing]
Nice repair job.
[cawing]
Oh, ooh,
it doesn't sound any better
since you fixed it.
[cawing]
Oh, gonna go for a broke, eh?
Boy, what a pigeon.
[flapping]
wham
[cawing]
thud
'Sorry to return
the pterodactyl'
in such bad condition,
Your Honor
but I figure,
a bird in the museum
is worth two on the town.
[chuckles]
You've done it again,
Atom Ant.
- The city is in your debt.
- Oh, shucks, Mr. Mayor.
I didn't do anything
any red-blooded American ant
wouldn't have done.
You see,
that's what you get
for being
such a wise guy.
If you'd listen to me, we could
be running things around here.
[groans]
Can't you take a joke,
you cookie cuckoo?
Look like there's some life left
in the old bird yet.
You're right, Mayor.
That cookie cuckoo
and that cookie professor
prove that birds of a feather
flock together.
[chuckles]
Up and at 'em, Atom Ant.
