The Glee Project (2011) s02e11 Episode Script

Gleeality

1 There were ups [Cheering.]
Oh, my God! Narrator: There were downs That was absolutely horrible.
- Horrible.
- I mean, horrible.
Narrator: Some became friends, and some even found love.
He may be my first ever boyfriend.
Narrator: Now we're down to the final three.
Ali's rolled right through the competition, letting her talent speak for itself.
Now, Ryan and the mentors want to find out if she can play more than just the sweet, bubbly girl.
I think she'd be good as a bitch character.
Narrator: While Aylin started off not so hot You lost the personality we were drawn to.
Narrator: She's been on fire ever since.
But can she handle the pressure of being a role model for young Muslim women? Do you worry about any of the backlash? Narrator: Blake has been consistently good but has struggled to show the mentors who he really is under that nice-guy exterior.
You have to show us something that's not cookie-cutter.
Narrator: He's made some progress, but will it be enough? Now the final contenders lay it all on the line in hopes of winning a seven-episode guest starring role on season four of Glee.
Find out whose dream will become a reality on the season finale of The Glee Project - This is amazing.
- Can you believe like, this is this is finale week.
- This is it.
- This is the last week.
Oh, my gosh.
There is only three people left.
That feels so amazing, but it's not over yet, so I'm still in competition mode.
The three of us are gonna be singing at the end of this week.
That's what's good, like, yeah, you mentally prepare yourself.
It's like, okay, there's no "if.
" It's been quite a journey.
[Groans.]
I could taste it.
It's, like, right there.
This is it, all or nothing now.
- Yeah.
- Literally.
I hope to God that I win.
I have fought so hard, and I want to show Muslim women that it's not a sin to be like me.
- So - Oh, man.
- Hi.
- Hi.
So you are the three finalists.
How do you feel? Ali and Aylin: Amazing.
- Great.
The theme for this final week is, of course, Glee-ality.
Yay.
Okay, good.
That just oh, my God, you saying that just made everything more real.
I know, real.
I know, I know.
That's what happened to me.
Your final homework assignment is You can't stop the beat from hairspray.
- Oh! - Awesome! That's awesome! That's awe that's awesome.
This song is a celebration of the joy of song and dance.
So here, for the last time, are your lyric sheets.
Oh, my God.
This is, like, so bittersweet.
I'm sad, and I'm happy.
So tomorrow, you'll perform for me and our very last guest judge from Glee, one of Glee's biggest stars.
Good luck.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
Oh, one more thing.
To really make you have a killer final homework performance, I've arranged for you to work with some amazing backup vocalists, so enjoy.
Oh, man.
[Overlapping screams.]
Oh, no way! Ah, we're back, bitches.
[Laughter.]
- Shut up.
- Oh, dude.
Oh, my gosh.
What is going on? I can't believe it.
I missed you.
I'm so happy Charlie's here.
I've missed him a lot.
This is not real.
Been a long time, dude.
I'm really excited that everybody's back, and we're just hugging our friends.
It's like a great reunion.
We're just having fun.
We talk a little bit, and we get to rehearsing.
All right, let's let's I think we should get up on our feet and try.
Right? Sure.
II feel weird that I feel like I'm, like, being bossy.
This is my thing.
Like, I wanted to take leadership because I have to focus on what I can do to win this competition.
And then there's another, ah ah ah So should we turn the other way? - Yes.
- All right.
Rehearsal is crazy 'cause I don't really know what to do with people, so thankfully, Ali is kind of taking charge with this.
I just hope that we can pull it all together.
[All singing.]
[School bell rings.]
- Hey.
- Hey.
Hey, guys.
How incredible to have you all back in the choir room.
We missed you.
Our final guest today is, in many ways, the actual inspiration for the Glee project.
[Cheers and applause.]
Chris! Chris Colfer is a big deal.
His character on Glee has touched so many people.
So as you know, this is Chris Colfer, who plays Kurt Hummel on Glee.
I'm so excited to be here.
Gosh, this is so much pressure.
I don't know how you guys do this.
[Laughter.]
Chris is really the inspiration for the Glee project because he auditioned for the role of Artie, and he wasn't really right for Artie, but he was incredible and special.
So I took him to Ryan, and, thus, Kurt was born.
So he really is the epitome of what you guys are striving for, and that's to inspire Ryan to create a role for you, as Chris did.
So who's the top three? - I'm Aylin.
- And I'm Ali.
- I'm Blake.
- Great, great.
Cool.
Congrats.
So you guys are performing you can't stop the beat, which I'm real excited to watch.
So to you guys three, best of luck, and, uh, here we go.
[Whistle blows.]
Five, six, seven, eight.
Ever since this whole world began a woman found out if she shook it, she could shake up a man so I'm gonna shake and shimmy get the best that I can today 'cause you can't stop the motion of the ocean or the sun in the sky you can wonder if you want but I'll never ask why you try to hold me down I'm gonna spit in your eye and say you can't stop the beat Hey, you guys! - Hey! - I gotta tell you something.
[Laughter.]
- Come on, now! - You can't stop today as it comes speeding down the track child, yesterday is history and it's never coming back and tomorrow is a brand-new day and it don't know white from black 'cause the world keeps spinning around and around and my heart's keeping time with the speed of sound I was lost till I heard the drums now I've found my way you can't stop the beat oh, oh, oh oh, oh, oh can't stop the motion of the ocean or the rain from above they can try to stop the paradise we're dreaming of but you cannot stop the rhythm of two hearts in love to stay you can't stop the beat you can't stop the beat you can't stop the beat you can't stop the beat you can't stop the beat bah dah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah dah dah bah bah bah bah bah bah dah - Whoo! - Whoo! Great job, you guys.
Really great.
I thought you guys did a great job.
Blake, I loved your your little dancing.
Your little thing, that was great.
And I love that you how you, like, kept your intensity throughout the entire number, and it was it was great.
Aylin, I was really really kind of blown away with how you were able to keep your volume and your voice up while moving around 'cause that's hard.
That's that's really, really hard to do.
Ali, you were just you were a character in the number, and the number is so known for for being a show about all these characters.
So great job, you guys.
I was really, really, really impressed.
So, Chris, who are you gonna pick as the winner of the final homework performance? I have decided To pick all three of you.
I can't pick.
I think you guys were all great.
[Cheering.]
We all win this week.
However, that's not how this is gonna end.
There's one winner.
That means that all three of you will share an incredible mentoring session with Chris Colfer Yay! Including working on your role in the last big group number of the season, which is Tonight tonight by hot chelle rae.
[Cheering.]
Oh, dude! I lovetonight tonight, and I think that it's a great way of ending this crazy process.
The concept for this final big group number is a high school prom.
- Oh! - Sweet! And you final three will each play a specific character.
So, Aylin, you're sneaking off to prom against your parents' wishes.
[Laughs.]
Blake, you're the popular but humble prom king.
A popular but humble prom king, so you're playing a fictional character.
[Laughter.]
Ali, you're the flirty, mean girl.
[Laughter.]
Now that we're down to the finals, all three of you will be doing last-chance performances.
For your final last-chance performance, you will get to choose your own song - Oh, thank God.
- Sweet.
So start thinking about what you'll choose.
When the performances are over, Ryan will decide which one of you will be in Glee.
[Laughs.]
Great job, you guys.
Thank you, guys.
- See you soon.
- See you, guys.
[School bell rings.]
All right, let's talk about this.
It took me this long to realize that you guys look the best when you're not dancing together.
[Laughs.]
So what we're doing is a sort of pseudo line dance.
Ready? Right, front, turn around.
And whoom.
Kinda.
Sorta.
Sorta.
Here we go.
Bah-dah, whoom, bah-dah-bah.
Bah-dah whoom, bah-dah-bah.
Pivot.
Pivot to the right.
And a-one, and a-two Sorry.
- And a-three, lean, four.
- [Sighs.]
Choreography is not it's not the moves that are challenging.
It's just, for me, adapting because my chair is not traveling as far if I'm adapting some of the moves.
We can partner you up with someone.
Michael can help, like, through most of it.
Yeah, totally.
That'd be amazing.
So let's very nice.
So this is it.
Everyone, I do expect you guys to give these three the respect and do your homework as well.
That being said, you three really have to be the ones that do take control of this video.
Besides that, it's been a fun time, folks.
[Kiss.]
Come hug me.
All: Aw! Oh, but not too tight 'cause y'all are stinky.
[School bell rings.]
This isn't complete yet, so I'm gonna bring a special guest to this prom tonight.
Who? Who is it? Yeah, I think they're coming in right now.
[Gasps.]
[Overlapping chatter.]
[School bell rings.]
Well, it's the final three.
We've got Blake, Aylin, and Ali, and I think they all deserve to be here.
I think it's actually gonna be a really fun day in the studio.
But there still is a competition, and they still need to bring it today.
- How you doing? - I'm good.
How are you? I'm good, I'm good.
Excited.
All right, well, let's just get started.
It's all right, all right tonight, tonight Okay.
It's high for you, huh? It's just high.
I'm just trying to, like, push here.
You're pushing, and you're pushing amazingly well, but just pushing a little bit too far.
Okay.
It's you and me and we're running this town and it's me and you and we're shaking the ground and ain't nobody gonna tell us to go 'cause this is our show - That's good.
- Yes! Oh! So much fun.
Oh, it's fun.
As always, we got a great performance out of Blake.
If anyone can sell a party track, I think Blake can.
Well, hello.
Hi.
So let's start with your chorus.
- Okay.
- All right.
Just don't stop.
Just don't stop, let's keep the beat pumping keep the beat up, let's drop the beat down Okay, now do it without looking at the lyric.
I don't know if I can do that.
God, I wish I memorized those lyrics.
I just didn't get my words down.
It's you and me and we're running this town and it's me and you and we're shaking the ground and ain't nobody gonna tell us to go 'cause this is our show - I liked that one.
- Yay! - Nicely done, Aylin.
- Thank you.
It took a second to get her there, but Aylin has ended up sounding amazing.
Her voice just naturally is very cool to listen to.
- Hi.
- Hi.
- How are you? - I'm great.
All right, I bet.
All right, let's do your verse.
Yeah.
I woke up with a strange tattoo I had issues with the choreography, so I will be sure to really be on my game in the studio.
This is our show Yes! That sounds great! - Thank you so, so much.
- All right.
It was really fun to work with Ali today, just hearing her performances and the different things she brought to the table that were completely unexpected, she was really able to pull it off today.
- Hi.
- Hello.
- Hi, guys.
- Hello.
How are you? Okay, let's do this.
Tonight, tonight and we're dancing on the edge of the Hollywood sign [Applause.]
Fun.
That was awesome.
- Thank you.
- We love you.
I had a really fun time in the studio today.
- That was fun.
- So, Aylin - how was your time with Chris? Chris Colfer is great.
He is so nice, and he was so insightful.
He helped us pick which which song we wanted.
I'm excited for you guys.
Are you guys excited? - Yes.
- Yes, very.
It's nerve-wracking though.
It's, like, our last performance for Ryan, and we get to pick our songs.
Whatever you guys do choose, you'll probably be asked to do it for the rest of your lives.
Like, I know I'll be doing single ladies at a bar mitzvah somewhere when I'm in my fifties, you know? So pick one that that you, I think, would really want to be with you for forever.
- Hmm.
- Yeah.
[School bell rings.]
- Good morning.
- Hey, what's up, Erik? - Last video.
Wow.
- Yeah.
Let's make it big for Ryan, okay? All right.
Yeah.
This is the last part of the longest audition ever, and this big group number is so important to each and every one of these three because everything they do will be judged.
So, um, we're gonna play on the actual Muslim background.
You are conservative, but you're really very wild, a rebel, crazy, kind of like how you are - In real life? - In real life, yeah.
All right, cool.
And playback.
We're going at it tonight, tonight there's a party on the Aylin has been fantastic.
When she's on, she's really on.
She's got a really fantastic pop voice.
I think it'd be a great addition to Glee in general.
Excellent.
Very nice.
Moving on.
Do we think that Aylin could really handle the backlash of what her character weight would entail? She has got to show Ryan that she can take the pressure and perform well under the pressure.
Basically, what's going to happen is you're prom king.
You're going to start your lines here, and you're walking to the balcony.
And you're going to, like, stage dive.
- Are you serious? - Yeah, man, so - that's awesome.
- But yeah - playback.
It's been a really, really messed up week seven days of torture, seven days of bitter and my girlfriend went and cheated on me Blake's doing great 'cause always, he's just so solid, it's crazy.
Yeah.
You know, I think Blake is the contender that has been the most consistent.
Absolutely.
And he's constantly been ready.
LA LA LA What could hurt Blake is that Ryan's wanting a bit of a different texture than what a normal leading man would have.
But I think that, because of his skill level, he could play so many Agreed.
Different types of characters.
All right, so this is Ali's verse, and this is Ali, the mean girl, right? - Yes.
- This is bad Ali.
This is going to be funny.
[Laughs.]
Don't you think Ali looks gorgeous? Beautiful.
Even beyond her talent as an actress, she's a true, consummate performer Yeah.
Where she takes things that you give her and applies them and wants to hear more feedback.
Ali, let me see you do a little bit more to camera, like you're letting us in on the joke, you know what I mean? - Okay, yeah.
- So a little bit to camera.
- Totally, okay.
- Yeah.
Background action and playback.
I woke up with a strange tattoo She's so vibrant, it might look a little forced.
I hope she can go normal Ali, performance Ali.
Galifianakis - Cut, cut, cut.
- Cut! All right, I'm good.
Five, a-six, a-seven.
Go, tonight.
Doo-doo, tonight, doom-pah.
This is the most important big group number of the season for these three contenders because it is their last chance to show Ryan how they fit into the Glee world as high school students.
Cut, cut, cut.
Oh, yeah.
Cut! You know what? This isn't complete yet, so I'm going to bring a special guest to this prom tonight.
Who? Who is it? Yeah, I think they're coming in right now.
We got a special guest for you.
[Gasping and cheering.]
I knew it! Yay! Hey.
- Awesome.
- My man.
How you doing? - Doing well.
- Good to see you, brother.
- Good to see you, man.
- Yeah, man.
Hi, guys.
- Hi.
- What's up? - I knew it.
- You all know Damian, winner from last year.
Yes.
Congratulations to the top three.
Thank you.
I've heard so much about you guys.
I remember exactly, like it was yesterday.
What I will say is, there's no need to be nervous now because you can't lose anything.
You can only gain something, so let's rock.
So we're going to rock out together for a little while, is that cool? All right.
Yay! Yes.
- Let's go! Ow! - Let's roll.
Okay, big energy.
[Cheering.]
And marker.
- Here we go.
- And cue playback, please.
[Indistinct chatter.]
It's been a really, really messed up week seven days of torture, seven days of bitter and my girlfriend went and cheated on me she's a California dime, but it's time for me to quit her LA LA LA Whatever.
LA LA LA, it doesn't matter LA LA LA Oh, well.
LA LA LA we're going at it tonight, tonight there's a party on the rooftop, top of the world tonight, tonight and we're dancing on the edge of the Hollywood sign I don't know if I'll make it but watch how good I'll fake it it's all right, all right tonight, tonight I woke up with a strange tattoo not sure how I got it, not a dollar in my pocket and it kind of looks just like you mixed with Zach galifianakis - LA LA LA - Whatever.
LA LA LA It doesn't matter.
- LA LA LA - Oh, well.
LA LA LA we're going at it tonight, tonight there's a party on the rooftop, top of the world tonight, tonight and we're dancing on the edge of the Hollywood sign I don't know if I'll make it but watch how good I fake it it's all right, all right tonight, tonight you got me singing like - oh oh oh - Come on.

Tonight, tonight, oh oh oh - All you party people! - It's all right oh oh oh, all right All you singletons! Oh oh oh, tonight, tonight - Bring all the lights out.
- That was awesome.
And that is a wrap.
Thank you so much.
[Cheers and applause.]
Amazing group of people.
We're done with this last video.
It's crazy.
Oh, my gosh.
That's it! Yeah.
I'm so close.
I'm so close, and I'm going to find out tomorrow.
We will know who has won a spot on Glee.
- Yes! All: Yeah! The video was great, but we have a last-chance performance, last chance in front of Ryan.
I'm literally hours away from having my dreams come true, and I want them to come true so bad.
[School bell rings.]
Ryan is only going to pick one winner.
This is the biggest prize on television.
It absolutely will change your life and your career forever.
[School bell rings.]
[Suspenseful music.]
After 11 weeks of competition, where each of you has really proven yourselves over and over again, tonight, one of you is going to win a seven-episode guest starring role on Glee.
There's a lot more to this prize than a role on a hit TV show.
Glee cast recordings have reached over 40 million downloads.
It's an audience that most recording artists can only dream of.
I do have to say, I think this is the biggest prize on television.
It absolutely will change your life and your career forever.
I told you at the beginning of the week to think very carefully about what you're going to sing.
So, Aylin, what have you chosen to sing? I have chosen rolling in the deep by Adele because I think it's a great way to show both my sassy side and my vulnerable side 'cause it's such a powerful song.
I thought I could bring both of those elements into my performance.
So, Ali, what have you chosen to sing? I'm going to sing popular from Wicked.
I think it will show this character that I've been working on this week, like this sweet sort of, um, manipulative girl.
My goal tonight is to show Ryan that this character needs to be on Glee and that it would add to the show, and it would make the show better and that I could bring that.
Blake, what have you chosen? I chose I'll be by Edwin McCain.
I chose that song because, ever since I was a kid and I first heard it, I've related to that song in every way possible.
I mean, through this song, I want to show that there's more to me than meets the eye, and I want to show all those variations of me through it.
We know that Ryan is only going to pick one winner, and he has definitely not made up his mind as to who that will be.
He's going to look at the big group number that we shot yesterday and then make a decision after he sees your final performances.
So it all comes down to what you do onstage tonight.
You have quite an audience to impress.
Ian Brennan, the co-creator and writer of Glee, will be joining us for your performances, as well as some of the writers and cast members of Glee and your former competitors.
They are coming to watch a star being born tonight, and we know you won't disappoint them.
So good luck.
Time to start rehearsing.
[Gasps.]
Thank you, guys.
[Sighs.]
[Sighs.]
[Sighs.]
There's nothing that can stop you from becoming popular I want this so much, and I cannot imagine going home empty-handed.
And even in your case Ugh.
This is what I have been working so hard for.
Me reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out the dark This is the biggest performance of my life.
I am one song away from making my dreams come true.
I want this more than anything.
Rolling in the deep I'll be love's suicide You know, I picked out this song, and I'm feeling good about it, but I need something to show Ryan that I'm different.
And I've got to figure it out.
From above Whether he likes what I've prepared or not, I'm really positive that he's going to see me in a different light tonight.
[Suspenseful music.]
I have never worked so hard in my life.
This has been one of the hardest things I've ever done, and I want to win.
Hello.
[All greeting Ryan.]
So welcome to the finale.
[Cheers and applause.]
So we have a really big night tonight.
It's been a really hard-fought competition.
With this performance, I need to prove to Ryan that he can trust me, that I can handle this.
I know I can do this.
The level of talent, I think, is incredible this year.
All you guys have been so great.
So we are now going to hear our three finalists, and then we're going to talk to you guys and get your thoughts.
We are very excited.
Are we ready? - Yeah.
- Yes! Dude, mm! Everything lies on this moment right now, and I think, if I receive a no tonight, it's going to be the one no that I can't take.
[Dramatic music.]
[School bell rings.]
All I have to do is just sing my heart out.
I can do this.
I know I can.
I want to win.
I want it more than anything.
Usually I come into these things with such a clear idea, but I feel really split.
I'm, like, still processing this, you guys.
I'm so happy it's the three of us.
The journey has been one crazy, insane ride.
It's going to be a challenge, and we need to stick together as a team here.
Yes.
We need to, like, work together for sure, feed off of each other each other's energy.
The fact that there's three people left, and I'm lucky enough to be one of them, I just ugh, I don't even know what to say.
On three, top three.
- One, two, three.
All: [Whispering.]
Top three.
[School bell rings.]
Are we ready? - Yeah.
- Yes! [Cheers and applause.]
Let's bring them out.
So first up is Ali.
I know that being in a wheelchair has closed doors, but this is a door that can open.
I can do this.
I know I can.
Oh, yay! [Cheers and applause.]
I am Ali Stroker, and I am going to be singing popular from the musical Wicked.
All right, let's do this! - Yes! - [Laughs.]
[Playing popular.]
Whenever I see someone less fortunate than I my tender heart tends to start to bleed and when someone needs a makeover I simply have to take over, I know I know exactly what they need and even in your case No offense.
[Laughter.]
Though it's the toughest case I've yet to face don't worry I'm determined to succeed and, yes, indeed you will be popular Yeah! I know about popular and with an assist from me to be who you'll be instead of dreary who you were, well, are there's nothing that can stop you from becoming "popu-ler" lar celebrated heads of state or especially great communicators did they have brains or knowledge? don't make me laugh! they were popular just not quite as popular as me as me Whoo! [Cheers and applause.]
[Laughs.]
[Laughs.]
You did so well.
Thank you.
You're such a great source of light and optimism.
We love that about you.
This show has changed my life, and it has been a fight to try to figure out how to make this work in my situation.
I feel very, very fortunate.
Thank you for this opportunity.
You're welcome.
You did great.
Thank you.
Thank you, Ali! [Laughs.]
Thank you very much.
We love you! It's impossible to root against her.
It just is.
So next is Blake.
Making it into the finale is a great thing, but it's not good enough for me.
I want to win.
I want it more than anything.
What's up, everybody? [Cheers and applause.]
[Laughs.]
My name is Blake, and I'll be singing I'll be by Edwin McCain.
Tonight I'm going to do my best to show you some differences in me that you haven't seen.
The strands in your eyes that color them wonderful stop me and steal my breath and emeralds from mountains thrust towards the sky never revealing their depth and I'll be your crying shoulder I'll be love's suicide and I'll be better when I'm older I'll be the greatest fan of your life and I tuned in, I turned on remembered the thing that you said and I'll be your crying shoulder I'll be love's suicide and I'll be better when I'm older I'll be the greatest fan of your life [Cheers and applause.]
Whoo! [Cheers and applause.]
Thank you.
Thank you.
Whoo! Blake, so was the microphone trick the thing I haven't seen before? Thatthat - [Laughs.]
No, I was just trying to, you know I wanted to be loose, and I wanted to show all the emotions from me that you haven't seen yet, like my poetic side.
I want to explain to you how I'm different from other people With words.
It was written for this moment.
I wrote it last night, so here it is.
[Sighs.]
"I'm the guy who will persist in his path.
"I'm the guy who will make you laugh.
"I'm the guy who strives to be open.
"I'm the guy who's been heartbroken.
"I'm the guy who's been on his own, "and I'm the guy who's felt alone.
"I'm the guy who holds your hand, "and I'm the guy who will stand up and be a man.
"I'm the guy who tries to make things better.
"I'm the guy who's the whitest half-Cuban ever.
[Laughter.]
"I'm the guy who's lost more than he's won.
I'm the guy who's turned but never spun.
" I'm the guy you couldn't see.
I'm that guy, and that guy's me.
[Cheers and applause.]
Nikki's crying.
Robert's crying.
I know, it's ridiculous.
[Laughs.]
That was very brave and very wonderful thing for you to do, and it was an honor to hear your words, thank you.
Thank you.
Bye, guys.
- Way to go, Blake! - Yeah! [Cheers and applause.]
Next is Aylin.
This is the moment standing in my way of being onGlee.
All I have to do is sing my heart out.
[Cheers and applause.]
Oh, my God, um, I'm Aylin, and I'm going to be singing rolling in the deep by Adele.
And, um, I'm really excited.
So let's go.
Work.
[Adele's rolling in the deep.]
There's a fire starting in my heart reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out the dark see how I'll leave with every piece of you don't underestimate the things that I will do the scars of your love remind me of us they keep me thinking that we almost had it all the scars of your love they leave me breathless I can't help feeling we could have had it all rolling in the deep you had my heart inside your hand and you played it to the beat could have had it all rolling in the deep you had my heart inside your hand but you played it, you played it you played it, you played it to the beat Aylin! [Cheers and applause.]
Thank you, guys.
I love you all.
What's mama going to think of that dress? Mama's going to love this dress.
She's seen me in worse.
[Laughter.]
Do you have any final things you would like to say? Of course.
I know that you have had your concerns about me taking the pressure, but I can take that pressure.
I have gone through emotional highs and lows in this competition and have done things I never thought I would do.
And I just want it so bad.
And I can do it, I promise you, I can do it.
Well, you're great.
I love your confidence.
I always have.
- Thank you.
- I think you're inspirational.
Thank you, guys.
Thank you.
[Cheers and applause.]
Aylin! [Cheers and applause.]
I remembered all the words, I remembered all the words! She did great.
It sounded beautiful and looked beautiful.
First, let me talk to some of ourGleecast members here, who have been wonderful mentors.
What do you guys think? Um, all three are clearly talented, and there's something for everybody, and that goes for the individuals behind me.
I mean, everybody has something unique about them, but there's always that extra je ne sais quoi, and Ali has that in spades.
Yeah, with Ali, it's like, she could enrich something in ways that Kevin can't for people because you know that he can get up and walk again.
And the fact that she's so talented I you can't teach what she has.
Alil mean, her expression and her heart is just beautiful, and she's undeniably talented.
And she's great.
She's definitely my choice.
When Blake performed, and forgive me, team Ali, a boy became a man.
A star was born.
I mean, I thought that he really exposed something about himself, which was lovely.
Blake's poem, to me, said, wow, this there there are depths there that we don't even know about.
All three of them could easily fulfill some shoes in the Glee world.
But if you had to choose one? I'd probably go with team Ali.
Ali was the one person that, for a second there, I forgot we were doing a competition.
I was just like, "this is fun.
" I can say, working on all the videos, Blake was the most solid.
Ryan, I think Aylin may not be the best actor, but you can get her there.
What Aylin has the potential to do for you and for this show is to take the bridge of fear and intolerance that has defined the post-9/11 decade in this country and burn it to the ground.
You seem so emotional.
She's amazing to me, and I think she can be amazing to thousands and thousands of people.
Well, I agree with you, and I've said that from the beginning.
Aylin, she sang an Adele song, man.
Like, and she did it justice.
It sounded amazing, and I think Glee could use a voice like that.
I like Aylin a lot.
I think her story would draw in so many more people into Glee.
- So the writers are split.
- Yeah.
- The actors are split.
- [Laughs.]
I have to say, coming in here tonight, I had a thought of who I thought was going to win, and then, watching all of them perform, it changed again.
And then hearing all of your pleas, it changed again.
So we are going to talk privately, one last conversation before we pick a winner.
So thank you, guys, all for coming, and we'll see you soon.
It's all in the hands of Ryan Murphy, and I feel like I'm going to throw up.
Let's talk about Ali.
I think Ali isGlee.
She does have that inspiring quality.
One thing that people watch Glee for is the uplifting feeling they get when they watch the show, and I think that she possesses that just as a person.
Okay, so let's talk about Aylin.
I think she has an amazing, amazing voice.
I was very interested to hear Amber's love of her voice.
I thought that was a good sign for me.
The story of a Muslim character in Ohio muslims are a huge part of, like, the American fabric.
So that would be makes her really, really attractive.
Mm, okay.
Let's talk about Blake.
He is the fastest, most adaptive actor that I've worked with that has that clumsy-thin quality, but he's good.
We could do more with him than any of the other cast members.
- Do you honestly believe that? - I I really, really do.
- And I think he's a star.
- You do? - I really do.
- They're all wonderful.
Mm.
[Sighs.]
Hate this.
I think, for me now, talking to everybody, I feel really split.
And I'm shocked because usually I come into these things with such a clear idea.
[Dramatic music.]
I'm still very torn.
[Suspenseful music.]
Hi, guys.
All: Hi.
- How are you? So here we are at the end of the second season of The Glee Project.
And it was a really hard night for me because I kept going back and forth A lot.
And I thought all three of you did such a wonderful job.
I think if you heard some of the things that were said about you, you would cry.
It's sort of an amazing affirmation, not only of your talent, but of your character.
This time last year was was, I think, a much easier decision, but Glee season four is changing.
There are some people, as you know, who are seniors on the show, who are graduating.
So there is a real need for, I think, a very specific talent and a very specific person.
That said, there's only one winner, and it's been difficult.
It's been difficult for, I think, the mentors.
It's been difficult for me.
Um, but I think we've made a decision.
So let's just get to it.
Blake, I loved your leadership throughout this competition.
I loved your leading man quality.
I think you grew a lot as a person and a talent.
I was wildly impressed by you from the beginning.
Ali, you were so wonderful.
You're so optimistic, and I think you're so special and unique.
The thing I like about you too is you have a real Broadway talent.
And we do those songs on Glee, and I thought you did a great job.
Ms.
Aylin, I think, you know, you know that I've loved your story from the beginning.
I think that you too embody something that really, really is Glee.
You're a wonderful vocalist, and you should know Ms.
Amber Riley, who has sung many Adele songs, she was knocked out by what you did tonight.
So we've talked about it, so let's just get to it.
The winner of the Glee project season two, who will receive seven episodes guaranteed on Glee, a recording contract, the ability to tour, is Blake.
[Cheers and applause.]
Oh! Oh, dude.
Oh! Oh, man! I'm so proud of you.
I'm so, so proud.
[Cheers and applause.]
- So welcome to Glee.
- Welcome! Going at it tonight, tonight This is the greatest moment of my life.
This is the greatest news I've ever heard.
This is the greatest feeling I've ever felt.
Now I get to do what I love.
I'm going to be on Glee.
[Cheers and applause.]
I didn't win the Glee project, but this is not the end for me.
[Applause.]
Thank you.
I've made it so far, and I am not going to stop now.
Oh oh oh - Let me hear you now.
- Oh oh oh I'm now walking away empty-handed but so lucky to have experienced this competition.
It just makes me hungrier.
Yeah! I won The Glee Project, and I could not be happier and more grateful.
I-I never I'm never going to take this for granted.
I'm never going to change.
I'm going to be who I am every single step of the way, and I'm so excited.
