Wizard Wars (2014) s02e03 Episode Script

Billy Bears All

Welcome to "Wizard Wars" where two pairs of challengers go head-to-head in a magic throw-down using ordinary objects to create extraordinary illusions.
The team that impresses the judges Wow, was this close.
will battle the Wizards for a chance at $10,000.
Money! The Wizards are street magician Justin Flom, escape artist Billy Kidd, - con man - Your wallet.
Gregory Wilson, and grand stage illusionist Shimshi.
And tonight The Wizard Wars! American magic creators The Vanishing Shark! face off against a team from Canada Bubbles! but the magic takes a hilarious turn Welcome to our little nightmare.
when the Wizards take the stage.
Now! Next.
Hey, everyone, I'm Ellen Fox, and welcome to "Wizard Wars.
" "Wizard Wars" is all about challenging magicians to conjure up creative magic routines using everyday objects.
The results can be mind-blowing, so let's get to it.
First, let's introduce our judges.
Please welcome Penn & Teller, Christen Gerhart, and Jason Latimer.
Now it's time to meet our challengers.
The first was raised in the UK and performs all over the world, Matt Johnson.
In the world of magic I'm known for being a creator amongst magicians.
I'm gonna do what I do best, and that's entertain people.
Teaming up with Matt is a man who performs his unique brand of stunt magic on the biggest shows north of the border, including "Canada's Got Talent," Wes Barker.
I've been dreaming of a show like this forever, so I'm super stoked to be on it.
Any time you can showcase yourself in front of a large audience or legendary magicians is never a bad thing.
Taking on our international illusionists is a team of American magic creators, starting with a street magician whose patented tricks can be found in over 40 DVD collections, Justin Miller.
"Wizard Wars" is a good venue for me, because it's not just set with close-up magic or stage.
It's actually combining both at the same time, and that's something I really excel at.
Joining Justin is a magic mastermind with his own line of tricks.
It's Adam Wilber.
My style of magic is close-up entertainment, a lot of cards, coins.
Being on "Wizard Wars" is great, because working with everyday objects is sort of the way I create magic already.
Now here are the rules for the challenger round.
Each team will be given three of the same everyday objects that must be used at least once in a routine a flying toy shark, a bubble maker, and a briefcase full of money.
You will be judged on your creativity, deception, and showmanship.
Justin Miller and Adam Wilber are up first.
They've already built their routine, so let's see how they did it.
So, we need, like, a theme, right? - Yeah.
- It's gotta be a themed story.
- So if we do imagination - Like imagination, great.
So what about this? I was thinking, like, you can come out with kind of an imagination, all the other ideas.
You know, bubbles are kind of floating around, right? So what if you come over and, like, produce a bubble, right? So you produce a coin.
- Sick, dude.
Love it.
- Right? Yeah.
Let's see what else is in here.
Dude.
The shark.
What if we thought about light, heavy? How do we get a shark to be heavy? How do we get this to be light? Justin and Adam, it's showtime.
So what we'd like to do is bring you guys on a brief journey of imagination.
What we're gonna ask you to do as the audience is just stare at the water right here.
Focus on the water.
On three.
1, 2, 3.
- Wait.
- Bubbles! Magic! Thank you! Thank you! It's like Studio 54 in here.
What's your name? - Valeria.
- Valeria.
Nice to meet you.
Will you please come up on stage? Give her a nice round of applause.
Thank you very much.
Thank you very much.
Come on over here, Valeria.
Do you have any money on you? What are you gonna do with it? Well, if you give it to me, I'll Will you multiply it? No.
That's not we're not married, and that's not so I know what I'm looking for, so don't worry.
Ooh, one dollar bill! Cool.
We'll use that.
Thank you so much.
So what I'm gonna try to do is combine two ideas into one, okay? Cool.
We're gonna take Adam's amazing idea Bubbles! with an idea I've thought of myself, okay? Check this out.
I'm gonna rip a corner off the bill.
Yeah? Hold on to that for me.
So, once again, two ideas into one.
Hopefully you can see it happen.
You can clearly see there's a corner inside that solidified bubble.
Absolutely.
And would you please verify that that matches perfectly? - Yeah.
- Yeah, good? Give her a nice round of applause.
Nicely done, and you can keep that idea for yourself, okay? Have a seat, please.
One more time.
Give her a nice round of applause.
Good job.
Now as we get older, we become adults.
We have responsibilities and bills.
We have to get a job.
We have to do our day-to-day grind, you know, our nine to five.
Yeah, the rat race, and it kind of feels leaves us showing empty actually.
But some ideas turn into actual products that could make you a bunch of money.
Ooh, ooh, like the Pet Rock.
The guy! A Pet Rock! He put a rock, painted eyes on it.
Now he's a millionaire.
But that's that's not a million dollars.
There's no way that's a million dollars.
That's not a million, but, again, it's all in the way you look at things.
Oh, use your imagination.
Use your imagination, amazing things can happen.
Watch.
That's pretty good.
That's pretty good, Adam.
- Pet Rock, right? - Thank you.
Thank you.
Pet Rock, come on.
But there is a saying about money.
There's a saying.
Everybody knows it.
There's a lot of sayings about money.
Absolutely.
"Money makes - the world go round.
" - Ah, nice.
- I wrote that.
- Awesome.
That's pretty good.
It's not bad.
I like it.
- Whoa, whoa.
- Justin, come on, man.
- Sorry, sorry, sorry.
- Take it easy.
Take it easy.
Would you please verify that is a real bowling ball? - Yes.
- Thank you so much.
I appreciate it.
Justin and I are what you call close-up magicians.
Yeah, that's right, Adam.
We actually work with cards, coins, rubber bands.
What we don't do as close-up magicians is work with three-foot floating sharks.
Sharks.
So today, for the first time Onstage just for you guys - Two close-up magicians - Yeah, keep that in mind.
present to you the Vanishing Shark! - I hate this shark.
- We're gonna get it.
- We're gonna get it.
- This is so dumb.
No, we got it.
This is fine.
- One shark - You can't I'm gonna try this.
- I know.
You - It's horrible.
Give me a little bit of cover.
- All right, here we go.
- Here we go.
- Up! - 1, 2 Uh, stall, Justin! You're gonna have to stall.
- 3 1/4 - This isn't working! - Stall a little longer! - 4 I was bad at math, dude.
- Little longer! - 7 - Dude, just drop it.
- 10.
10.
Dude, I hate this shark! - I knew it wasn't gonna work! - I can't stand it.
We should have just done close-up.
Dude, we had no cards.
We have no coins, nothing.
- We get sharks.
- It's a little embarrassing, little embarrassing, but we really wanted to end this show with a bang for you guys.
We absolutely did.
Oh, oh, oh! I got an idea.
I got an idea.
Whoa, whoa, dude.
Relax.
- Any idea is better - Check this out.
Watch.
- Whoa, whoa.
Wait.
- What? - The bowling ball.
- The bowling ball.
- 1, 2, 3.
- 1, 2, 3.
Ladies and gentlemen, inside, the bowling ball! - Thank you very much.
- My name is Justin Miller! - Adam Wilber! - Thank you! Thank you.
Thank you.
Well, let's find out what the judges thought about their performance.
Really, really good creative thinking to think of the shark as an object to put something into instead of flying around or vanishing.
It's just a whole new way to think of that, but I wasn't convinced, and Teller maybe even less so.
When you're doing any one of those corner matching things, we're always skeptical of those.
Putting it inside a bubble, I'm not sure that everyone absolutely believed that was the same corner, and that's what you're playing for that whole trick.
But the most important part of any routine is the finish, and the finish, you absolutely nailed.
There wasn't enough cover with the flash paper for the briefcase, and I would have liked to see the money utilized a little bit more, but the bowling ball in the shark was awesome, so, overall, I really, really liked it.
I thought it was really funny.
Great job.
You don't have much time on this show, and the interaction to be able to not step on each other, but also still know a direction that you're gonna guide the audience through, that was really great.
One of the things I did like about the idea of the bill in the bubble is it's really creative, but deception is where we lose you on that one, because we can't prove that it was the right piece right away.
But I really liked the ending of having something that big being inside a balloon.
That looks very cool.
Great, great job.
Our second team of challengers will be up next right after this.
Justin Flom here, and today I'm gonna show you how to do the magic trick where you take a handkerchief, you put it into your fist, say a magical word, snap your fingers, whatever you like, and it turns into an egg.
Stick around.
I'll show you how to do that.
Welcome back to "Wizard Wars.
" Matt and Wes are up next.
They already worked out their routine, so let's take a peek behind the magic curtain.
So what can we do with a shark? Like we can float it.
It floats already.
We don't have to do that.
What about what about look, here, right? - There's a giant fish tank.
- Yeah.
Dude, just look at the size of this fish tank.
Let's put it this way.
I like where you're going with this.
- Is that the same size this thing? - Close.
It's golden.
You know what we do? - We just burst the shark.
- Yeah? To be honest, I think the scale of this is too big.
I think we ought to scale it way down.
I'm thinking if we scale this down, maybe like a smaller tank or a fishbowl or something, and we put the shark in there, and then it drops, and it turns into all the money.
- Excellent.
- Gonna hug it out? Sure.
I love you, man.
It's important to note there are no camera tricks on "Wizard Wars.
" Matt and Wes, take it away, guys.
Okay, so I've got this little briefcase here, and I'm just gonna go ahead and get the uh, my friend, Wes, he's a little crazy, and he's done what I was hoping he wouldn't do.
Wes? - Wes? - Hey! Dude, I can't believe you've done this.
- What? - What is that? It's a fishbowl.
Yeah, I see it's a fishbowl.
It's a rhetorical question.
Where's the cash? I spent it.
On a fishbowl? And a remote-control flying shark.
It's for us.
I bought it for us.
You're an idiot.
I left you a dollar.
We're on "Wizard Wars.
" You spent all our cash on a fishbowl and a remote-control flying shark.
That's fine.
I'll do a trick with one dollar.
We're gonna have to get you to sign it, - So here's what I'm - Play with this thing.
- No, stop.
- It's fun.
- No, I'm serious.
- Use it.
- You can go first.
- Stop.
No, dude, stop.
- I bought it for us.
- No.
Hold that.
- I bought it for us.
- Hold that.
Hold that.
Oh, you never smile.
Oh, dude! - No, don't encourage him! - I just bought this! No, here's what I'm thinking, right? - 'Cause, you're - I can't even take that back! Why did you even do that? Here's what I think of your shark.
Hang on.
Listen, you want a fish in a bowl? So there you go, my friend.
There's your little fish in a bowl.
I'll take the cash.
Take the bowl.
Get out of here.
- Aww.
- Why are you like that? Why did you even do that to my shark did nothing to you.
- Just get outta here.
- My shark - What is your name, sir? - Chris.
Chris.
I've got a dollar bill here, Chris.
Would you would you sign the dollar bill just on that side there, if you would, please? Just actually, we'll get you to sign it right here.
Just sign it right across the Okay, so I'm actually gonna do a "P" on this side like this.
Now can you see that "P" there? - I can.
- That is for Penn.
And I'm gonna do a "T" on this side, and this will be for Teller.
Now here's the idea.
We're gonna take the bill, and I want you to hold on to the bill for a second.
I've also got here an envelope, and what I would like you to do is you're the eyes for everybody.
Would you confirm that the envelope is indeed completely empty? It is.
Just drop the bill in there.
I'm gonna ask you, Chris, again, you're the eyes for everybody here.
Can you see the bill inside the envelope? - Yes.
- You can? I'm just gonna keep the top of the envelope open at the fingertips.
Would you hold that above your head just at the right trajectory? I'll explain why in a second, but just hold it just about there.
Just keep it up a little bit, and that's perfect.
So here's the idea, folks.
The idea of the trick is the bill is going to leave the envelope invisibly.
The shark's gonna vanish, and the bill will be in its place inside the fishbowl.
And he's gonna do it with no sleeves.
- No, I'm not.
- Yeah, you are.
Okay, hold it.
Be careful.
It's tailored.
- Yeah, oh, yeah.
- Okay.
So here's the idea.
Keep your eyes on the bill.
Keep your eyes on the fishbowl.
Watch, watch, watch.
Here we go.
It travels through time and space, and it ends up inside the fishbowl.
- It is! - It is? No! No, just my shark, - That's all we got.
- That's still in there, huh? Yeah, and I'm actually a little happy about that.
We're gonna start again.
Take the bill out.
We'll hold it in the other hand.
So take the bill out.
Is that the bill there? You see the bill? Sorry? Uh, no, dude.
Would you hold that above your head, please? Would you also just take the envelope? Just look inside.
Is there anything inside the envelope? - No.
- It's completely empty, is it? Can I just show everybody? There's nothing, nothing inside the envelope.
Uh, Chris, there's a piece of paper.
- Yeah.
- Would you open that? We'll see what that is for a second, if you would, please.
What is that, Chris? Bubble machine instructions.
I bought a bubble machine.
It shoots some serious bubbles.
Bubbles! Yes! Oh, it's so good, even comes with a bubble refill.
Bubble refill.
It's cute, man.
It's cute.
I don't think it's gonna win us any awards, - but it's cute.
- Yeah.
No, no, it's good.
Doesn't taste very good, though.
Ecch.
- That's one there.
- Oh! All right! Oh, a glass bubble.
This magician's good.
Check it.
I got ding! - Yeah, check it out right here.
- That's pretty good.
Here.
Go like this.
- Oh! - Oh, what's that? Ladies and gentlemen, Wes Barker! Does if that's Oh, yeah.
- Let me show you here.
- It's a first for me.
Ladies and gentlemen, this isn't just a dollar.
This is Watch this.
Here we go.
I'm gonna can I tell you that? Chris, you'll recognize your bill if you see it again, yes? Chris, I got a dollar here.
There's a "P" on one side.
That would be for Penn right there.
And there's a "T" on the other side.
That would be for Teller.
But in order to know it's the same dollar, Have a look.
Chris, is that your bill? It's mine.
Ladies and gentlemen, Chris! Wes! It's good there.
- Hey, we did the trick.
- Dude, that's it! I think we're gonna make a lot of money with this trick.
We're gonna make a ton of money.
I actually think we're gonna make so much money that we will cover your ridiculous purchase of a remote-control flying shark.
- My awesome purchase.
- Right there.
Fishbowl full of money! Whoo! Oh! I think we'll make so much money that we'll actually cover the fishbowl.
What? And, hey, you know what else? - Huh? - See if we can do this.
I'll get that.
That's what I'm here for.
Oh, money! Ladies and gentlemen, my name's Matt Johnson! - "Wizard Wars"! - Thank you very much.
Good night.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We're gonna go to the judges to find out what the judges thought.
Christen? First off, I thought it was really fun.
I would have liked to see some magic kind of right off the bat.
There was a long space of just talking and explaining.
I liked the money appearing kind of everywhere in step.
That was very cool.
I loved the light bulb.
That was really fun, and I loved that you kept it in the bag.
It kept it clean, and using that for the reveal of the signed bill was really fun.
I really did enjoy it.
Thank you very much.
I had a really hard time seeing the bowl appear.
Glass in front of black is really difficult to see.
And then I would like to have seen the shark used more than just popping it and vanishing it.
But I do love the ending.
My favorite trick was, I think, you doing the bubbles out of the mouth, 'cause I believe and this is the juggler in me and the carny trash speaking.
I think you just did that, right? I just did that, yeah.
Yeah, you just drank some bubble stuff, yeah.
'Cause we can cheer for all the skill and all the deception that we want to, but nothing beats the commitment of some nut drinking soap onstage to get a laugh.
That having been said, you know, I really wish that there had been more interaction between the two of you.
But I'm kind of nitpicking, but a wonderful job, wonderful.
We'll find out who won the challenger round and will advance to face the Wizards for a chance to win $10,000 right after this.
Coming up Right after the break Remember I was gonna show you how to do the magic trick where you take a handkerchief, you put it into your fist, snap your fingers, say a magical word, and hanky becomes an egg.
Stick around.
I'll show you how I do that.
Justin Flom here.
Remember, I was going to show you how to do the magic trick where you take a handkerchief, you put it into your fist, you snap your fingers, say a magical word, and the hanky becomes an egg.
It's a cool trick.
It's easy to do.
All you need is a fake egg.
It's not even a real egg.
It's a wooden egg.
Wooden eggs are hard to come by, 'cause they're laid by decoys.
This gets hidden in your palm before the audience even knows the trick has begun.
'Cause it's hidden in your palm, magicians call this palming.
Now you go, and get yourself a hanky.
A napkin will work, something like that.
Kind of wave it up and down to distract the audience from the fact that you have an egg hidden in your fist.
Pull the hanky through your fist.
It almost looks like it's empty.
And when I'm putting the hanky into my fist, it's actually going inside the egg.
Snap my fingers.
Say a magical word.
Show the audience the egg, but be very careful that you don't show them the back of the egg, or they'll see the secret.
Unless you're a wizard.
Cheers.
I'm not gonna drink this.
Are you nuts? Welcome back to "Wizard Wars.
" We just saw two teams of challengers put together mind-blowing magic using the same three everyday objects.
Now it's time to find out which team won and will move on to face two of our Wizards in the "Wizard War" for a chance to win $10,000.
Penn, the judges had a chance to weigh both performances.
It's time to announce the winner.
Yes, we did.
Wes drink soap.
But that is not my final answer.
Um, you know, pretty evenly matched.
We go to the showmanship, the deception, the creativity, kind of pretty close on both sides.
But when it all comes down to judging magic, it comes down to a trick, and one good trick can make all the difference in the world.
And the bowling ball in the shark was a great trick.
Justin and Adam, we all agree.
Congratulations, Justin and Adam.
But before we find out who your competition will be, let's talk about your challenge.
Each team will be given four objects to use in a new routine, and they have a common thread.
They're all associated with everyone's favorite time of day, sleepy time.
They are a giant teddy bear, an old-fashioned alarm clock, hot chocolate with marshmallows, and footie pajamas.
All right, tonight's Wizard team will be Gregory and Billy.
Now everyone head on up to make some magic! To keep everyone entertained while the teams prepare for the Wizard War, we're in for a treat.
Shimshi is going to show us the skills that made him one of the biggest draws on the Vegas Strip.
All right, good.
So I'm gonna try show you one of my favorites.
So just say stop, and whenever you feel like it.
- Stop.
- Take a look at it.
Got it? Does everybody see? Okay.
Um, actually, I borrowed Greg's phone.
Uh, it's a brick.
It's an antique, but it's better than my phone because this phone will actually figure out which card you took.
Look at the phone.
Can you see it? If I just shake it like this, one card appears there.
Wow.
- Is that it? - Yeah.
Okay, don't be impressed on that.
It's just an app, right? But here is the magic part.
Could you sign your name on the card? This is to make sure there's only one card like this, 'cause this is truly one of the fastest illusions that I know of.
Can you see signature right there? Goes about middle.
Can you see it? Mm-hmm.
Whatever you do, do not let your eyes leave my hands, because your card is going to jump all the way to the top of the deck.
It's gonna happen so fast.
Watch closely.
Done.
Wow.
It was one of the fastest illusions I know of.
That wasn't even the fast part.
This is the fast part right now.
It is so fast, I'm actually gonna tell you exactly what's about to happen.
Before we do this, I want to add one more mark on it just in case I have a duplicate by now, 'cause this is the important part.
Write down the last four digits of your Social Security number right here.
Just make it up.
You can lie.
Most people write down 1234.
Ah, original.
All right.
Can you see that? I'm gonna tell you what's about to happen.
This card will disappear, and it will reappear inside the phone.
You know what's about to happen, so don't let me get anywhere near the phone.
Are you ready? Just a shadow will go over.
Done.
The card is gone.
Okay.
- Nope.
- No.
Nothing in my hand.
Inside the phone, though, inside the battery case.
- Can you see? - Yeah.
I'll do it slowly.
There's one card.
Not only that, it's folded in four.
- Can you see that? - There it is.
I don't wanna touch it.
Could you unfold it for me? Let me know if it has your signature and your fake social.
- It does.
- And it does.
I got you impressed.
That's good.
I'm happy.
I'm done.
That's it.
Let's hear it for Shimshi! Well, the challengers are hard at work turning their sleepy time props into eye-opening magic, so let's see how they're doing.
Maybe we do that we live together.
- It's nighttime.
- Okay.
I mean, we're gonna go to bed, whatever, whatever.
So kind of like what happens when magicians unwind.
We need a bed.
With the marshmallows, you know what we could do? Sign your name on that.
- Sign the marshmallow? - Yeah.
Like your initials.
So we could have an audience member sign their name on the marshmallow.
- Okay.
- And then we have somebody hold on to the actual alarm clock.
Okay, right.
So we're gonna do something like this.
If we squeeze it, right, it's gone, okay? Do you hear that? Yeah.
- Oh, wow.
- Come on, dude.
That'd be tight.
We gotta do something super creative with the bear.
The Wizards are gonna have something solid.
We know that.
- Yeah.
- An appearance, I think, is a cop-out.
What if it's like a puppet? - Yeah, yeah.
- And it animates like he's it's walking or something? Right.
So like this, and just go That's really good, dude.
Coming up Red? Is that correct? The challengers perform an incredible routine.
He's magical, okay? Will it be enough to win the Wizard War? You take care of it.
You guys were stunning.
Welcome back.
It's time for the main event, the Wizard War.
Challengers, you're up first.
Justin and Adam, take it away.
Oh, my goodness! - What's up, brother? - What's up, man? This thing again? Are you kidding me? Dude, don't kick Tony, okay? Okay, I'm sorry.
Your bear your stupid bear.
- Yeah? - Yo, how was your gig, man? - How was your gig? - He didn't mean it, dude.
- Mine was great.
I killed it.
- Yeah? Nicely done.
Got a tip and everything.
It was awesome, awesome.
- Nicely done.
- You want a drink, brother? I would love one, man.
Whiskey, please? Hot chocolate is all you got? Why do I have hot chocolate? It's your bedroom.
I couldn't tell you that.
That's the weirdest thing I've ever seen in my life.
- Well, wait.
What'd you want? - Whiskey.
- I can do whiskey.
- Yeah? Watch.
Whiskey.
Whoo! That's good.
But, dude, it does get better.
- Hold it out.
- Yeah? See if we can do this.
- Whoo! - Nice! Yeah, that's great.
Cheers, my friend.
Thank you very much.
Oh, oh, oh! Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh.
- I gotta show you something.
- You been working on it? - I gotta show you something.
- Okay, cool.
You know your Boy Scout thing you're doing? - Next week, yeah.
- Yeah, so here's what I was thinking, right? Marshmallows.
- Marshmallows, okay.
- Yeah, right? What's your name, sir? - Taylor.
- Taylor.
Beautiful.
And I don't know.
Maybe name a color, any color you want.
Doesn't matter what it is.
- Red.
- Red? Is that correct? - Right? - Nice.
- How cool is that? - Nice.
No, I love it.
Look, dude, I'm gonna use it for my show.
- I really do like this.
- Please do.
I think so too.
- I dig it.
I love it.
Cool.
- I mean, it's a good trick.
- It is Tuesday.
- You know what Tuesday means.
That means you need to leave my room.
- Tuesdays - What are you talking about? - Justin dishes day! - No, no, no.
I don't think you understand something.
The dishwasher's broken.
I can't do anything about that, - so you take care of it.
- The dishwasher's broken, It's still Tuesday.
It's still your day for dishes.
It doesn't matter.
The dishwasher's broken.
- You take care of it.
- What? - Yeah.
- Actually, you know what? Fine.
Let me do this.
- Dishwasher's broken.
- What are you doing? Dude, that's cool.
That's cool.
I-I'm exhausted.
I think I'm gonna hit the sack.
- Are you tired? - Yeah, I'm gonna go to bed.
All right.
Oh, ooh, ooh, ooh, one more thing.
Do you mind? Yeah, make it quick.
I been working on something really good.
- So, me and Tony - More teddy bear magic? We talked about it.
Whatever.
Show me what you got.
You knew what it was like when you came into this house, man.
Tony, don't worry about it, buddy.
You're good.
You're good.
Check this out, man.
- Oh, it's a puppet.
- Right.
Like a puppet! Like he's alive! Makes it look alive.
That's pretty cool.
Dude, but check this out.
Check this out.
Watch, watch, watch.
This could be good for a kids show.
It would be good for a kids show.
All right.
Still weird that you have a teddy bear.
- Stop it, right? - Okay.
How cool is that? I dig it.
No, I do like that.
That's great.
That's good.
That's great.
I love it.
I might even borrow it for my kids show if you wouldn't mind.
You're not borrowing Tony.
You kicked him on the floor.
That's impossible.
You're not getting him.
All right, that's great.
I'm gonna see you in the morning, buddy.
Cool, absolutely.
Can you hand me Tony's pajamas? The 38-year-old grown man going to bed in a suit, but you want you want pajamas for your teddy bear? Yeah.
I don't want him to sleep naked.
Is that all right? You're right.
I knew going into this you were a weirdo.
It's okay, Tony.
It's okay.
And a little privacy, please? Thank you so much.
Just lift that up.
- A little privacy? - Yes.
Unbelievable.
Justin, I love you like a brother, but you are a strange, strange man.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
Right there.
That's perfect.
Okay, okay, come down.
Right? - Ah! - Right? Quick change for the teddy bear.
That's pretty tight, right? Very weird, but I still dig it.
I love it, man.
I think it's a great idea.
All right.
You got any shows tomorrow? No, dude, I got no shows whatsoever.
You got nothing? You know what that means, right? - I have nothing either.
- Why? What are we doing? That means we're sleeping in all day.
- That's what I'm talking about.
- All right, man.
I'm gonna catch you in the morning.
All right, buddy.
Take it easy.
Oh, man, I am beat.
Tony, don't worry about it, man.
He just doesn't understand us.
It's okay.
Bring it in, brother.
- Ohh! - Come here.
Let's go brush our teeth before we go to bed, okay? Come on.
Let's go.
My name's Justin Miller! I'm Adam Wilber! That's Tony! - Thank you guys so much! - Good night! You can walk off now.
All right, let's find out what the judges thought of this performance, starting with Jason.
I thought it was great.
I mean, everything was really solid magic.
Some of the things like the cloth up was a little bit long for me for an effect, but you know, I wouldn't have expected you to bring the bear to life.
That was a great idea.
I thought it was really fun and playful.
Thought the hot chocolate was very visual.
I loved the marshmallow change, too.
I would have liked to have seen a proof with that one.
I mean, it was just it was so visual.
I really enjoyed it.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
Thank you, brother.
Very peaceful routine, but if you're going to bring something to life that's inanimate, I don't know how you fix the breathing problem.
There was a telegraph on the breathing.
That having been said, overall, I thought it was wonderful.
Thank you.
I like the whole premise of you're just you're guys coming home from your strolling magic gigs, right? You're still in your suit from your performance.
It was really fun.
You didn't use the alarm clock in a way that I almost lost it.
It would have been cool if it was maybe even a little bit bigger or just something else with it rather than just a vanish.
I loved the whiskey packet.
That was really fun.
I loved the teddy bear.
I really did, and I think it's a very cool idea, cutting the hands out and then using him to do some magic, and then making him come to life at the end was very cool, and I thought that was a cool way of also incorporating the pajamas.
And you guys really work nicely together.
I really loved your interaction.
- Right.
- And we thoroughly enjoyed it, - so thank you very much.
- Thank you.
Thank you so much.
We'll see if the Wizards can put the challengers' hopes of victory to bed when we return.
Coming up What we're gonna do is we're gonna play with our food.
The Wizards perform hilarious comedy magic.
Watch your hand, though, when I do this, though.
Will it be enough to win? Was that crazy? You're freakin' out! Welcome back to "Wizard Wars.
" The Wizards have already built their routine, So let's see how they plan to dash the challengers' sweet dreams of going home with $10,000.
How about this? How about this? Matter of fact, I got a great idea.
How about we go like this? Okay, so you go like this, you go like this, you go like this.
I put one over there like this.
Keep your eye on that one.
I mix it up like this.
Which one has it? - That one? - This one over here? No, I never did anything.
I do it again like this.
Where's it at? - That one.
- No, it's over here.
I'll do it one more time.
Which one? - That one.
- Okay, I lied.
Okay, all right.
Do your thing.
Come on! That looks so amazing! Ohh.
Big finish? Big finish? Big finish? Come on! I gotta work on my stream.
If we take this apart, but save this material.
- Okay.
- So the theme is sleepy time.
To me, I automatically think bed, right? Pajamas bed All we need to do is start building stuff.
'Cause we don't have a lot of time.
We'll think about the plotline later.
- Yep.
Okay.
- Okay.
Start with this.
Work our way up to like the coffee, maybe the alarm clock, and then end with End with the bear? Let's get to work.
Wizards, the stage is yours.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to our little nightmare.
And the rest of the dream starts right about now! Whoo! Oh, Greg, you won't believe it.
- I had the worst nightmare.
- What happened? I dreamt we were doing a magic routine on TV - Yeah? - in front of a live audience.
I was completely bear naked.
Bear naked.
That was the worst part! That was terrible! Okay, look, before some people go to bed, they like to have a little milk.
I got a little milk over here.
Watch this.
I don't even need my jacket.
Don't need my jacket at all.
In fact, I don't even need Look, look, look, look.
Can you see it right there? I don't even need the sleeve.
I lied.
How about one sleeve right there? What's the that's even freaking me out over here! Come on! One of the props that we've got is right over here on this table.
How much time we got? We got two, three minutes max.
- Let's do the thing.
- Okay, all right, here.
- Grab this here.
- Grab a bag of marshmallows.
And you, sir, would you mind grabbing a handful? - Right, okay? Are you hungry? - Actually - yeah.
Grab two handfuls.
- All right.
- All right.
- Very good, and count them up.
Count yours.
- 10.
- You got 10? You got 10, and you have how many? - 15.
- 10 and 15, okay.
Okay, so here's what we're gonna do.
Ladies and gentlemen, what we're gonna do is we're gonna play with our food.
Can you hand me one of those? One right there? Okay.
I'll take that right there.
Here's how you play with your here's how you play with your like that.
Did you see it go? No? We'll do it again.
We'll do it again.
Take a different one.
Watch up high so you can see this right there.
How 'bout from that side? Do you see it go? You still didn't see it go? I'll show how it's done.
You wanna see how it's done? - I don't know.
- You don't know? You have no idea what to say.
All I do is put it there.
And watch your hand, though, when I do this, okay? You're gonna help in just a second.
Don't look away.
Don't look away.
It's just like that, and it's gone, And you weren't even blinking! You were staring.
You wanna see I'll do it again.
It's when I place it here like this.
You're still not sure.
It's like very slow.
I just wait for the laugh part right there, and, boom, it's gone like that.
Am I going too fast? I'll slow it down extra slow.
I'll even teach you look, all I do is that.
Looks stupid from that side.
- Yeah.
- How about that side? - Looks like it's gone.
- Yeah.
It's back! It's gone! Back no, no, seriously, when I put it there, I turn.
Does it look like it's gone? How 'bout the fingers? How about that way? How about that way? No! You turn the angle you still can't how 'bout more? Okay.
Let's do it.
Hand me some of those.
We'll make 'em all go, a whole bunch of 'em.
2, 3, 4, 10, 20, 60! 112, but keep going.
Give me more.
Like this.
Okay, all these will they'll all vanish.
Wouldn't that be amazing? Would that be amazing? Does everybody wanna see it go? - Yeah! - Yeah.
Almost everybody.
Okay, all right.
Put your hand on top.
One on the on the bottom like this.
Squeeze.
It's gone.
- No.
- Squeeze again.
Let go.
Look, it's back.
I'm kidding.
Right there on top.
Right on top, on top, on top! Look, sleight of hand, it means slow of hand.
Look how slow that was.
Is that crazy? You're freakin' out! It's like you're in our dream or something! What? You didn't see where it went? You want to see where it went? Look over here.
That's the nightmare! Welcome to our nightmare over there! Ladies and gentlemen, it's nightmare time.
Okay, we're gonna see how real we can make this, yeah? Here we go.
Count of three.
1, 2, 3.
Rahhr! And waah! Come on! Uh I mean, he looks so innocent, too.
I don't But that's not the crazy part.
The crazy part over here just in time for you to watch and listen.
What? Wait a second.
Wait a second.
Wait for it.
Where's that coming from? It's gonna keep ringing till someone wakes up.
Like ninjas! Look at 'em go.
Right there! No.
- Wait a second.
- Oh, no.
- That's - Mr.
Teller? That even surprised me.
Wait a moment.
Wait a moment.
We forgot something.
My friend right here, how many marshmallows did you count? - 15.
- You had 15, yes? And you had - 10.
- 10.
10 and 15.
if the clock had the exact time of 10 What's the time? What's the time? - 10:15! - 10:15! 10:15! 10:15! That's not a bad dream! - That's a good night! - Good night! Ho! Let's get the judges' reaction, starting with Christen.
It was super funny.
You guys worked really well together.
The nightmare thing's very cute, to have the teddy bear rip up your pajamas.
Thought that was very cool.
Overall, showmanship-wise, you guys were stunning.
And thank you.
It was really fun.
You know, from the very beginning, I think all the judges agree that it was so clean-looking.
For some reason, I just never even thought about the marshmallows, the sponge balls.
As soon as you did it, I'm, like, that makes perfect sense.
That was a great use of creativity.
I really enjoyed it.
I don't think there's anything for us to talk about except the paper balls over the head.
Paper balls over the head is a classic magic trick that's been done by everyone, but what everybody doesn't do is put a wrinkle on it that makes it funnier.
And you added the eating the marshmallows.
I think that's something that others will do.
You've got a trick that absolutely destroys, you've got somebody who sees miracles, and then a whole audience that's in on it.
It is the perfect kind of modern American magic.
All the other stuff was done well.
All the other stuff is solid.
Your performance, your creativity, your deception is all great.
Seeing under the bed, that's all wonderful.
We could go through all of that in detail, but we don't need to, because the marshmallows over the head with you eating them was just so perfect, a combination of the best magic you've ever seen with Blue Man Group.
It was just wonderful.
Don't go anywhere yet.
We'll find out who won the Wizard War when we return.
Okay, this is the moment of truth.
Which team is the winner of tonight's Wizard War? Well, the proof that it's a difficult one is the fact that we were not unanimous.
It's because both were so good.
We just loved the your nightmare was very, very sweet.
But what we're seeing here with the challengers, Justin and Adam, the two of you interacted a little more.
You know, I'm very interested in two-person teams.
And it was nice to see you interacting that way.
And with the Wizards, there's just a little more sophistication on the part of Billy and Greg.
It seemed like just the magic chops were more together with Billy and Greg.
And I think all of that being said, we also just love the fact that there'll be people on cruise ships doing that marshmallow gag.
So, Billy and Greg take it away.
Justin and Adam, I'm sorry.
You did a spectacular job, but this one goes to our Wizards.
Congratulations, Wizards.
Good night from "Wizard Wars"!
