Man: Earth.
Not just our home, but home to a number of different species.
Some big some small.
And some that are so unique they deserve a whole episode.
Welcome to "Planet Bears," [Music.]
hosted by yours truly, Sir Lawrence Greyborough.
In the quiet den, the bears are slowly and peacefully awakened by the warmth and sounds of spring.
[Alarm blaring.]
Known to spend a third of the day resting, the gentle and elusive panda is slow to rise.
The mighty grizzly begins his day full of vigor.
Good morning, world! Good morning, room! Good morning, motivational poster! Wakey, wakey, bro.
Panda: Five more minutes.
Good morning, kitchen.
Good morning, trash can.
How do you do, microwave? Ah, so thirsty.
Hmm, what can quench my thirst today? Ooh, that'll work.
Greyborough: While the grizzly restores his electrolytes, the often silent and highly skilled polar bear focuses on the most important aspect of a bear's life.
Uhh, need breakfast.
Oh, yeah, you know what would be awesome, Pan? - French toast sticks.
- Ice Bear needs cooking space.
Greyborough: The grizzly and the panda wander off to distract their minds from their rumbling tummies so the polar bear can prepare their morning meal.
[Music.]
Man on TV: Hello, and welcome to the 41st annual Pug Bowl! [Dog barks.]
Ah! I forgot this was today! Yes! This game is gonna be so good! We have some breaking news.
It seems that the MVP of the season, Rocket, will be missing out on the game today due to a scratch on his left paw.
- Oh, what?! - Boo! We want Rocket! Ice Bear looked everywhere for food.
Found nothing.
Ugh! First Rocket gets hurt, and now no breakfast?! Okay.
Okay, guys.
Relax.
No food? There's only one place to go.
Greyborough: The supermarket.
This abundant food source attracts every hungry species in the area, which makes it crowded and therefore highly competitive.
[Children screaming.]
Ice Bear will get produce, bread, granola bars.
Panda, get cereal.
Cereal? Ugh, that's so much pressure.
I mean, there's so many options.
Which one is the right Oh, hey, you dropped your cereal.
Oh! [Chuckles.]
Thank you so much! You're my hero! [Music.]
You know, I-I'll take care of the cereal.
[Chuckles nervously.]
I totally got this.
[Chuckles.]
Ice Bear needs carrots, chicken, teriyaki sauce.
You got it, but first I have to respond to nature's call.
That means I'm going to the bathroom.
- Ice Bear got it.
- Cool.
Greyborough: With the grizzly needing to answer nature's call and the panda in search of a potential mate, the young polar bear is left to forage on his own.
The limited supplies at this fishing hole means competition will be great.
Our polar bear will have to wait his turn.
Ohh, I got to go.
I got to go.
- Where are you, bathroom.
- Okay, so that's three eggs and Hi, I-I'm Do you know where the bathroom is? I'm I'm sorry, honey.
Can you Can you tell me that again? - Um, can you help me? - Yo no se! Uh, gracias? [Chime rings.]
Yes! Uh, am I supposed to be back here? Greyborough: Having situated himself near his potential mate, the panda hopes to draw her attention.
Hmm, Wheat Bars: Breakfast on the Go.
Well, that's perfect for me, since I'm always on the go to, like, the gym and stuff.
Oh, totally! That's an excellent choice.
You should also try the ones with chocolate chips.
Is that so? Oh, do tell.
- Aah! No, no, no, no, no! - Watch out for the [Chuckles.]
Clean up on aisle five, right? [Chuckles.]
Greyborough: Back at the fishing hole, our polar bear finally gets his turn.
How can I help you? Ice Bear would like to purchase some salmon.
I'm afraid we're out of salmon.
- Tuna? - We're out of tuna, too.
Catfish, goldfish, cod? What do we still have? Uh, let me think, uh Yeah, we're out of that, too.
The hunt continues for our hungry bear.
Fortunately, he can settle for the next-best thing.
Competition, however, is still at the forefront.
Ah, you can cut the passive-aggressiveness with a knife.
The polar bear has been challenged by an aggressive female and now must assert his dominance in order to win his fish sticks or fight.
Hi! Ah! Fish sticks! The polar bear will have to continue his tireless search elsewhere, or settle for fried tofu.
Ah, ah, ah, I need to go.
Huh? [Laughs.]
Oh, happy day! Greyborough: Bears are known for their remarkable intelligence.
They will often employ several strategies to overcome an obstacle.
[Shouting.]
[Grunts.]
Yah! Ohh! [Laughs.]
[Engine starts.]
Greyborough: The grizzly's goal is finally within reach, however, an enemy indigenous to these parts is lurking in the shadows.
[Whistling.]
What Hey! Get down from there! Uh, I'm sorry, sir.
Just need to go to the bathroom.
I'll turn it off.
- Aah! - Stop! [Forklift beeping.]
Aaah! I'm trying! Help! [Screaming.]
[Crashes.]
[Panting.]
You are in big trouble, mister! Guess you won't have time to go to the bathroom! It's okay.
I don't think I need to go anymore.
Greyborough: Humans and animals alike both have a parasympathetic nervous system Whoa, what the relaxing tensed muscles in preparation for action.
Shame a feeling shared by all species.
Respect.
Let's find out how the panda bear is doing in his quest for love.
Hey, I'm really sorry for knocking down the cereal pyramid.
I didn't mean to.
Oh, don't worry about it.
Hey, listen, I'm the queen of knocking stuff over.
You should have seen the mess I made with the soda pop tower.
You think that's crazy? I once tried to inflate a mattress here in the store, and I ended up knocking over a shelf.
Actually, based off the security camera footage, shelves, in plural, would be more accurate.
Oh, what?! You're the mattress man?! We've watched that security footage so many times.
What?! You know about that?! Oh, my gosh, this is so embarrassing.
Are you kidding? You're, like, a legend over here.
Show me your ways, master.
[Laughs.]
Oh! [Chuckles.]
So, um, could I maybe get your number so that we could talk over shelves together? [Chuckles.]
Uh, yeah.
That'd be fun.
Hey, bro, so I think we need to go, like, now.
Ice Bear ready to make meal now.
Oh, I can check you guys out over here.
Greyborough: The bears have collected an abundance of food, showing that they have a high status among their peers.
All right, that'll be $60.
- Right-o.
Coming right up.
- Um, Ice Bear left his wallet at home.
[Chuckles nervously.]
Well, do you have any money? Oh, that's right.
[Chuckles.]
I don't have any pockets.
Um, how about an I.
O.
U.
? [Chuckles.]
Um, I don' think that's a good idea.
I can really get in trouble for that.
- Um, please? - Dude, do you want to get me fired? I thought you were different than that.
- Oh, no, I didn't mean to - Is there a problem, gentlemen? - Wait a minute, you again?! - Whoa! Let's get out of here, guys! Phew! That was close.
I vote we never come here again.
But Ice Bear needs food to make food.
Ugh, you're right.
Man, I'm hungry.
[Stomachs grumbling.]
[Birds squawking.]
All right, bros, let's look everywhere around the house.
There has to be some food somewhere.
Greyborough: Desperate for hunger salvation, the bears search for any small morsel they can salvage.
[Gulps.]
Aah! Aah! Greyborough: The fact that the bears haven't had anything to eat is truly taking a toll on them.
Finally, a grain of nourishment is discovered.
It's a simple equation.
When hungry meets angry, you get "hangry.
" [All growling.]
When it comes to hunger, bears have no loyalty to family or friends.
It is every bear for himself until their hunger is satisfied.
Aah! Greyborough: It's a fight between power and aggression.
The hungriest bear will be the victorious one.
[Distorted growl.]
You're absolutely right, Chad, this is an intense game.
But wait a minute.
Whoa, whoa, this is amazing! I can't believe it! Rocket is coming off the bench, and he's wobbling onto the field.
How is he even gonna play with a cast on, Chad? - I cannot believe my eyes! - Go, Rocket! Go, Rocket! - Go, go, go! - Is he gonna - Go-o-o-o-o-al! - Go-o-o-o-o-al! [Laughs.]
[Music.]
We are going into overtime, ladies and gentlemen.
Get yourself comfortable, folks, 'cause we gonna be here for a long time.
[All gulp.]
[All sigh.]
Greyborough: Even the scarcity of food cannot threaten the bond connecting these three bears, who have proven that there is nothing stronger than the love connecting family.
Good night, Planet Bears.
