King Burple

1 Everybody needs a hero Someone to save the day We've got a wing to ride on We are the bold and brave Look to the sky and you will find us High above the world Racing through the sky High above the world We rescue and we ride - There's nothing we can't do - Oh, yeah Together we can't lose We're high above the world Okay, you ready for this, buddy? Oh, he's more than ready.
He looks Well, about the same as he always does.
Okay.
Everyone ready to practice this rescue? - I got dibs.
- No, Cutter.
- It's Burple's turn to catch him.
- And this time, I'm gonna do it.
Come on, guys, on my tail.
You know, the real Elbone always has new business ideas.
Maybe this can be one for you.
Skydiving! Whoo-hoo! You got this, buddy.
Piece of cake.
Huh? What did you say about cake? Oops.
Can I have a do-over? Come on, Burple, fourth time's the charm.
I got it! Burple, let go.
Sorry.
Well, Elbone, I hope you learned a valuable lesson today.
Yeah.
Don't trust Burple.
Sorry, guys.
I really thought I had it that time.
No problem, Burps.
Not all of us can be king of rescuing like me.
I know.
I'm disappointed in me, too.
Just stop looking at me like that.
Hey, here comes the real Elbone.
Rescue Riders, I need your help! Hey! Oh, right, you've never seen that.
Um, it's just Amazing! A spitting image of my twin brother, Albone.
Albone? Yeah, he's always getting himself into trouble.
Nothing like me.
Oh, that reminds me, I'm in huge trouble.
- Of course you are.
- What is it, Elbone? My boat is missing, which means my house is missing, which means Rocky and Shelly are lost at sea! And I guess that'd mean they're missing, too.
How did you lose your boat? I was using it to test my new business idea, lightweight boat anchors made of wood.
Those metal ones are so heavy.
I took a break for lunch, and when I came back, my boat was gone.
There is a reason why anchors are heavy, Elbone.
Yeah, I just figured that out.
I got it! Okay, this is not my day for catching stuff.
Don't worry, Elbone.
We'll find your boat.
- And Rocky and Shelly.
Climb on.
- We have to hurry.
If anything happens to my boat, I won't have a house, and Rocky will sink to the bottom of the sea like, well, a rock.
Or an anchor.
I don't see anything, just a lot of waves.
That's because you don't have super sight, like me.
- What do you see? - Just a lot of waves.
But much closer.
It has to be out here somewhere.
Yeah, but "somewhere" is a big place.
Rocky! Shelly! Can you hear me? Does he really expect them to answer? Still no sign of anything.
We need to split up to cover more ground.
Cutter, Burple, head east.
- We'll take Aggro and go south.
- And we'll head north.
Which way am I going? Well, since you're riding with Winger and me Oh, right.
North it is! Everyone meet back here at midday.
Come on, super sight, don't fail me now.
Uh, Cutter? Not now, Burp.
My super sight needs to concentrate.
Cutter? Burple, seriously, I gotta stay focused, or I'll miss something.
You mean like the giant storm we're flying into? Uh-oh.
Why didn't you say something sooner?! Cutter! Stay behind me.
I'll be a windscreen.
Too much wind, not enough screen! We gotta find a place to land.
Correction, we gotta find a place to crash! Leaves! Apples! - And a perfectly placed branch.
- Look out below! Unh! Mm.
That wasn't so bad.
Huh? Whoa! Oops.
Sorry! That was amazing.
The way you just, zoom, bam! You saved us! What courage.
What bravery! What just happened? I don't know, but I wish I had a soft wolf to land on.
Ow! You did it.
- Who did it? - I think he means you, Burp.
Who's he? Who are you? And what did I do? It's safe to come down now! Huh? The Grey Menace has been defeated.
We are finally safe.
- What's going on? - Don't ask me.
We are bowing before our new protector, King Purple.
It's actually pronounced Burple.
Wait, "king"?! - Any luck? - Do you mean finding Elbone's boat, or getting Elbone to stop yelling in my ear? Rocky! Shelly! You will always be in my heart! I'll take that as a no on both.
We didn't find anything either.
Oh, and all this staring at the water is making me seasick.
Rocky gets seasick, too! He's probably tossing his pebbles as we speak.
If the boat's not north, south or west, it must be east.
That's the direction Cutter and Burple went.
- And they're not back yet.
- Hopefully, they found it.
Come on, guys.
Let's head east.
Maybe we'll find the boat and Cutter and Burple.
Rocky, Shelly, we're coming! I am Oscar, and this is Flyhopper Village.
- Cool huts.
- Oh, we haven't lived in those for years.
Thanks to the Grey Menace, we live in the trees now.
You have to live in the trees? Why? We Flyhoppers can only fly for a few feet, and we're far too small to battle wolves, so the trees were the safest place to keep our eggs.
But now that our new king and protector is here, that is all in the past.
- And our huts will be filled again.
- Wait.
You actually believe Burple beat the Grey Menace on purpose? It was just an accident.
Accident.
That is a good one.
Why are you all laughing? Well, you're obviously the king's clown, brought along to entertain us.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait a minute.
Did you say clown? You think I'm a clown? Can a clown do this? You've chosen your clown well, King Burple.
He's an absolutely silly dragon.
Actually, Cutter's kind of right.
Landing on that wolf was a bit, you know, lucky.
And hitting it on the nose with that rock? Well, you see Oh, I get it.
Your Highness doesn't like to brag.
But what should we do with your victory feast? Crash landing on a wolf did make me hungry.
And I wouldn't wanna disappoint my Flyhopper subjects, so I could get used to this.
I'd like to get used to it, too.
Where's my feast? - Oh, you'll get one.
- Yeah! But the clown eats last.
Are you done yet? Oh, I can't eat another bite.
It's good to be the king.
Okay, you heard the king.
Chop-chop, it's my turn.
Where's my feast? That's it? I've seen goldfish with more meat on them.
Yes, goldfish.
Oh, very funny, clown.
So, can I get a bigger fish? No.
Oh, yeah.
That's the stuff.
Maybe a little more on my left wing? It always runs a little hotter than my right.
Okay, enough is enough.
I'm gonna show these Flyhoppers that I can be just as much of a king as you.
Check this out.
I give you, King Cutter! Ouch.
What? A fruit hat? Oh, that's hilarious.
Please, stop.
My stomach hurts.
Cutter's never this funny at home.
I'm not trying to be funny.
And I am funny at home.
What do you have planned for us next, my king? Um, well, I was planning on taking a nap.
All this kinging is making me sleepy.
Yes, of course.
But it might be a good idea to give your Flyhopper subjects their orders before your royal nap.
Orders? I thought being a king was just about fanning and food.
Perhaps you can ask them to gather more wood for the fire - and water for the village.
- Okay.
What he said.
And since you are here to protect us now, shouldn't we move our families and eggs back into the village? Uh, okay.
And "ah-oh-ah-oh" to you, too.
I'm starting to get a bad feeling about this, Burp.
- What do you know about being a king? - I know I like it, and I'm good at it.
And the food is great.
You're good at what, exactly? Laying around and giving orders? I might not be the fastest dragon, or be the best at catching the Elbone doll, or be the most flexible, or be the smartest, or be the best at making lists of things I'm not the best at.
But here, I'm king.
And now I decree, it is time for my royal slumber! Wake me up before the next feast, will you? Yeah, you're king, all right.
I just hope you know what you're doing.
- No sign of Cutter and Burple.
- Or Rocky or Shelly or my boat! Wait, look down there! My basket.
- My boot.
- And there's your wooden anchor! Uh, I'm not sure that's mine.
But that is my boat! We found it! We found it! Rocky, Shelly, I'm coming home.
Shelly! I was so worried.
But wait, where's Rocky? I don't see him anywhere.
Maybe he jumped ship.
Or maybe he was thrown onto the beach when the ship wrecked.
Rocky! Rocky? Rock.
Rocky? Rock.
Rocky! I wonder how Burple and Cutter missed this.
I don't know, but it's too bad Burple isn't here.
He really knows his rocks.
Yeah.
This might take us a long time.
- Rocky Roley! Rocky? - A very long time.
King Burple, I present to you, your royal nest, built for a king.
Mm.
Nice shape, good size.
- We like it.
- "We"? That's the royal "we," Cutter.
It's king talk for me.
Enjoy, Your Highness.
Thank you, Loyal Subject Oscar.
I think you're letting this king thing go to your head, Burps.
Falling on that wolf was just an accident, remember? Accident? Are there really any accidents, Cutter? Yes, there are! And now the Flyhoppers are moving all of their food and eggs down out of the trees.
What's wrong with that? Our Flyhopper subjects deserve a better life.
But what happens when the wolves come back and we're at home, at the Roost? Uh, we hadn't thought of that.
We're sure we scared off the Grey Menace for good.
You were saying? - He's heading toward the village.
- What? And it looks like he's bringing some of his friends.
Cutter, we can't chase off that many wolves.
What are we gonna do? You mean the royal "we"? No.
By "we," I mean "we," we! Loyal subjects we have decided that you should move your eggs back into the trees.
Pardon, sire, you've just told us to bring them down.
You know kings, always changing their minds.
- Is the clown correct, my king? - I wish you wouldn't call me that.
Oh, pardon me.
Is the royal clown correct, Your Majesty? I give up.
I give up.
Well, the Grey Menace is coming back, and he's not alone.
I think everyone would be safer back up there.
But we have nothing to fear.
You are here! King Burple, our protector.
Not Rocky.
Nope, not Rocky.
This is a great system, Ley.
Keeps us from checking the same rock twice.
Yeah, way better than Dak and Winger's system.
Nope, nope, nope.
Nope, nope, nope.
Nope, nope, nope.
- Nope, nope, nope.
- Wait, there's Rocky! Rocky! Winger, look out! Oh, never mind.
That wasn't Rocky.
Not Rocky.
Not Rocky.
- Not Rocky.
- Sorry, sis.
Guys, I have a bad feeling about this, and it's for sure not something I ate.
Those wolves are getting close.
What are you gonna do, Your Majesty? What can I do? They trust their king too much.
They're gonna stay down here.
And when the wolves get here Then tell them the truth.
Royal subjects! Hello? Citizens? Listen up to our great and powerful protector! See, that's the thing, I'm not your great and powerful protector.
- What? - Not a protector? But you defeated the Grey Menace.
A storm blew me out of the sky, and I just landed on top of him.
I actually had my eyes closed the whole time.
King Burple, there is no reason for you to make jokes.
You have the royal clown for that.
Now, entertain us with your fruit hat.
Huh? - Did you see that? - Yes! Do it again.
Your king orders you to throw another apple at Cutter's head.
Okay? - Are you the only one who can do that? - Oh, no.
We all can.
- We play a game as kids called - Volley Rock? - Pass the Apple.
- Close enough.
You said you guys are too small to fight wolves yourselves, but you're not too small to fight them together! What? Trust your king.
Now, come on, we've got work to do.
Oh, no, I am so stuffed with delicious fish, I can't move my plump, juicy body.
We're totally surrounded.
Which is the plan.
Now! Down the middle! Yeah! Left! Right! Rapid fire! Thank you, Majesty.
- Thanks, clown.
- Seriously, after that save? Right side, ready! For the king! Oscar, you are the loyalist of the most loyal.
We banish thee forever.
And by "we," I mean all of us.
Right, guys? Yeah! - Yeah! - We did it! We did it! Yes! Now I really don't think the Grey Menace will come back.
But if he does, you know what to do.
All hail the king! Thanks, but I don't think I can be your king anymore.
Why? It's not that I don't like being king, I do.
It's just I think there's a better dragon here suited for the job.
Me! Remember? It was my idea to use the apples.
Actually, I was talking about Oscar.
Me? Yeah, you should be the king of the Flyhoppers.
Wow, it's a good look for you.
All hail King Oscar! Now that you're truly safe, it's time for us to go home.
Can you leave the clown? You've taught us to defend ourselves, and for that, you'll always be welcome here, among the Flyhoppers.
Both of you.
Yeah! Now this, I can get used to.
- Bye! - Bye! - I wonder if they found Elbone's boat.
- You mean that boat? It was on Flyhopper Island this whole time? - Not Rocky.
- Wait, no rest for the weary.
Rocky needs us! Hey, everyone! Wait, you're here, too? How? - It's a long story.
- We'll tell you on the trip home.
- Let's grab Rocky and go.
- That's easier said than - Here he is! - Done? Huh? Whoa! Rocky! Burple, you're the best.
Don't you ever sail off like that again! Thanks again for your help, Rescue Riders! - Anytime, Elbone.
- That was awesome, Burp.
I knew you'd be great at rock hunting.
Yeah.
I guess I am.
Just call me the King of Rocks.
Oh, no, not this again.
I told you, it's good to be the king.
Don't worry, Cutter, you can still be my clown.
What?!
