The Amazing Race Canada (2013) s05e07 Episode Script

Break Time For Korey

1 ADAM/ANDREA: O Canada! JON: Six teams powered through a patriotic leg in Ottawa.
EBONIE: Yee-haw! JON: In an attempt to protect themselves from the dreaded double U-turn, three teams made a pact.
EBONIE: Top three! PAUL: All three teams decided not to U-turn each other, and to U-turn one of the other three teams.
JON: But that pact deteriorated ADAM: Andrea and Ebonie didn't U-turn Korey and Ivana.
JON: as confusion took over.
ADAM: What do you want to do, then? ANDREA: They didn't do what they said.
ADAM: So let's go.
ADAM: We're not going to U-turn anybody.
JON: giving Korey and Ivana the chance to make a move KOREY: Andrea and Ebonie.
IVANA: It's us or them.
JON: on a team already struggling to navigate the race.
ANDREA: Over by MAN: No, this way.
ANDREA: This way.
EBONIE: Argh! MAN: Congratulations, you passed.
JON: Adam and Andrea brought home another win.
JON: You're team number one.
ADAM: Oh my god! JON: making the siblings the first back-to-back winners of the race.
Having also been U-turned, Kenneth and Ryan battled to make the grade RYAN: Feeling the pressure.
MAN: Congratulations, Ryan.
You passed.
RYAN: Yes! KENNETH: Nice, dude.
JON: leaving Andrea and Ebonie JON: This is a non-elimination leg and you are stll in this race.
EBONIE: [SCREAMING.]
JON: to be saved for the second time.
JON: Now, six teams remain as they race to win the next generation 2018 Chevrolet Equinox True North Edition, a once-in-a-lifetime trip for two around the world, a quarter of a million dollars cash, and The Amazing Race Canada.
JON: With racers now halfway to the finish line, it's still anyone's to win.
Today, our nation's capital will act as the seventh starting point on The Amazing Race Canada.
Adam and Andrea won the last leg of the race, and will depart first at 7:52 am.
ADAM: Fly to western Newfoundland.
JON: Teams must now travel to the windswept shores of western Newfoundland.
Known for its stunning landscapes and fascinating Norse history, it's here that Vikings once roamed as the first Europeans to set foot in the Americas.
ANDREA/ADAM: Let's go.
ADAM: Taxi! ADAM: We won the last two legs.
We're going for three in a row right now for the hat-trick.
ADAM: Alright, we're off to Deer Lake.
ADAM: The competition is extremely strong.
It's anyone's race at this point.
ANDREA: Thank you.
ADAM: Thank you.
PAUL: Let's go.
SAM: Let's go.
SAM: We're starting this leg of the race in second place.
We're going to the airport.
SAM: I applied to med school before we started this race.
Waiting to hear news that can either make or break the rest of your life has been very stressful, and it's throwing me off my game.
PAUL: We really want to win another leg.
We just need to focus a bit more, to make sure it happens today.
SAM/PAUL: Ya! KOREY: You have $450 on your BMO CashBack MasterCard for this leg of the race.
IVANA: Newfoundland! KOREY: Woo! IVANA: Let's go! BERT: We're off to Newfoundland! RYAN: Western Newfoundland.
KENNETH: Yeah, dude, sweet! RYAN: Here we come! Yoo! EBONIE: We're starting in last position today.
ANDREA/EBONIE: Taxi! EBONIE: We survived a non-elimination leg again.
There's only one way to go, and that's up.
EBONIE: Come on, girl.
Let's do this.
KAREN: Oh my gosh, the numbers are dwindling like crazy.
ADAM: Final five, guys.
SAM: Yeah.
ADAM: Wow.
ANDREA: Final five.
SAM: [EXHALES NERVOUSLY.]
ADAM: Oh my god! ANDREA: What up, what up, what up? KAREN: Wow! IVANA: Thinking that it's 1 in 5 odds of you winning the race, and then finding out it's 1 in 6 odds is never good news, especially when the team that's coming back is the team that you U-turned.
IVANA: We U-turned you guys because we thought you would have done the same.
It was a strategic thing.
It was nothing personal.
EBONIE: Right now, I have nothing to say.
EBONIE: I'm just having a hard time faking it in front of fake people.
IVANA: It's shocking to me that someone would take it that personally.
If you want to be bitter, that's fine.
Now it's game on, even more so than before.
ADAM: Ebonie! ANDREA: Can we talk to you guys? EBONIE: We can talk.
ANDREA: In the last leg, we were supposed to U-turn Ivana and Korey.
ADAM: Andrea and Ebonie didn't U-turn Korey and Ivana.
So let's go.
ANDREA: I never thought you guys were behind us.
EBONIE: To find out that they didn't U-turn was so unexpected.
I'm just feeling really disappointed.
EBONIE: It almost cost us our race.
ANDREA: I feel, like, extremely horrible.
I'm sorry, guys.
Like, seriously, I'm really sorry.
ANDREA: Oh, Andrea and Ebonie.
ADAM: Oh! ANDREA: We made a bad decision.
I feel horrible.
ANDREA: The only people we can really trust is ourselves.
EBONIE: We're just gonna focus on us from now on.
JON: All teams are now flying on the same flight from Ottawa, Ontario, to Deer Lake, Newfoundland and Labrador.
Once they touch down, they'll load into a 2017 Chevrolet Spark and make their way to the town of Corner Brook, the largest city in western Newfoundland.
There, they'll need to search for this BMO branch, where they'll receive a very special clue.
IVANA: Go, go, go! RYAN: Kenneth, come on! KENNETH: Woo-hoo-hoo! SAM: See the cars? PAUL: There.
Oh yeah, down there! SAM: Sweet! PAUL: Let's go! SAM: We're going to a BMO branch in Corner Brook.
RYAN: Just right down to Corner Brook, yeah? KENNETH: Exactly.
KOREY: Dammit! IVANA: Red light caught us.
Wah-wah.
RYAN: There it is.
PAUL: BMO, BMO, BMO.
KENNETH: Go, go, go, go, go! Come on, brother! RYAN: How are you doing today? FEMALE VOICE: Hey, Kenneth! KENNETH: What?! Oh my gosh! RYAN: We arrive at the BMO bank, and it's a video clue from our moms, my grandma KENNETH: and my dog, Ozzie.
MOM: Drive yourselves to the Discovery Centre at Gros Morne National Park.
RYAN: The clue is to go to the Discovery Centre at Gros Morne National Park.
MOMS: Go, Team Give'r! [DOG BARKS.]
KENNETH: [LAUGHS.]
Let's go, dude! KENNETH: That was amazing! RYAN: That was unreal, dude! KENNETH: We'll say it proud, we'll say it loud.
We're mama's boys.
SAM: Hi.
MOM: Hey, Sammy.
SAM: Ah! MOM: We know how much you've sacrificed this past year to follow your dream.
And today, I am honoured and beyond proud to confirm your acceptance at the medical school of your first choice.
PAUL: [LAUGHS.]
Yes! SAM: Oh! [CRYING.]
[CRYING.]
SAM: [INAUDIBLE.]
PAUL: [LAUGHS.]
SAM: Oh, okay! [BOTH LAUGHING.]
PAUL: So proud.
SAM: Okay, can we go? PAUL: Yeah, let's go.
SAM: I can't believe it.
This is something I've been working for my whole life, and to find out in the middle of the leg is just unbelievable.
I'm so happy.
RYAN: Sam and Paul are right behind us! KENNETH: Discovery Centre.
RYAN: Give'r! KENNETH: Oh, yeah! PAUL: Go, go, go, go, go! RYAN: Detour.
JON: In this detour, teams will get a chance to race a traditional fishing boat or trace an ancient Viking ancestry.
It's their call: Find Your Dory, or Family Story.
In Find Your Dory, teams will choose a traditional dory boat, then climb aboard, push off, and prove their rowing skills.
Rowing their dory along the shore, racers must search for this group of lobster traps, and their next clue.
Once spotted, they'll land their boat, grab the clue, jump back aboard, and return to the beach.
Once they're back on solid ground, they can read their clue and keep on racing.
In Family Story, teams' powers of observation will be put to the test as they reconstruct a Norse mythological family tree.
Teams will need to find this recreated Viking encampment, where roaming among the villagers are three Viking gods, Odin, Loki, and Thor.
Racers must then listen to each god's story ODIN: I am the son of Bor and Besla.
LOKI: My goddess wife Sega and I had Narvy.
JON: to gather information about their extended families and how they're all connected.
Then, they must place each family member's name in the correct position on this family tree.
THOR: My wife is the fair-haired goddess Sif.
JON: Once they've correctly reconstructed their Norse family tree, Odin, the god of war, will give them their next clue.
RYAN: We're gonna do Find Your Dory.
KENNETH: Let's go.
SAM: We're gonna do Find Your Dory.
PAUL: Dory, we're coming for you! IVANA: BMO, right side.
ANDREA: There it is.
IVANA: Hi there! MOM: Hi, Korey! KOREY: Hey! MOM: We know you can do it.
KOREY: Respected! BOTH: Hi, guys! Remember us? ADAM/ANDREA: [LAUGHING.]
MOM: We miss you, including Nexus.
[DOG PANTING.]
ADAM/ANDREA: [LAUGHING.]
ADAM: Awesome! BROTHER: Good luck, love you.
IVANA: Love you, Stef! IVANA: Oh my god, yes! IVANA: Oh my god, a little bit of home.
Such a great boost.
I love it.
PAUL: Let's do it.
SAM: Where are they? PAUL: Right there.
SAM: Wow, this is fun.
Do you like this dory? PAUL: Yeah, this is a good dory.
PAUL: I have a bit of rowing experience.
PAUL: Okay, ready? PAUL: To be good at rowing, you need to be rowing in unison.
PAUL: Ready? SAM: Yeah.
PAUL: 1, 2, 3.
And 2, 3 And 2, 3 And, good, 2, 3 RYAN: Okay, get in.
Sam and Paul are in front of us, and we're gonna go catch 'em! Ha-ha.
Yoo! KENNETH: Okay, get those oars fired up.
RYAN: I know.
Gimme a sec.
Let's go left, left, lefty.
KENNETH: No, not lefty.
Righty so we can turn the boat.
RYAN: Okay, okay.
KENNETH: Are we gonna go forward or backwards here? RYAN: We're gonna go forward in a sec.
KENNETH: Okay.
RYAN: I'm trippin', I haven't been in one of these things.
ADAM: Find Your Dory, or Family Story.
ANDREA: Which one you wanna do? ADAM: Family Story.
Let's go.
IVANA: Find Your Dory, let's go.
KOREY: Okay, let's go.
IVANA: What are oars? KOREY: They're the things that you paddle with.
ANDREA: Here we go, BMO.
ANDREA: Okay, are you ready? EBONIE: Yeah! MOM: Hi, sweetheart! I am so very proud of you.
EBONIE: Oh-oh, my god! MOM: Go, go, go! You've got this, girls! ANDREA: Oh my god, I love you, Mommy! EBONIE: Awesomest message of the day! [CHUCKLING.]
BERT: There's the bank.
KAREN: Ooh, hello.
CHILD'S VOICE: Hi, Mom and Dad.
KAREN: Aah! AYSHA: It's me, Aysha.
BERT: Oh my god! KAREN: Oh! BERT: Watching this video message is a reminder of what we've given up to be here.
DARNEL: On behalf of the whole family, we all miss you and love you very much.
BERT: Oh my god! KAREN: It's very hard to be away from everybody.
BERT: Our little girl, she's gonna be, like, a teenager when we get home.
KAREN: [LAUGHING.]
PAUL: 1, 2, 3, in the water.
1, 2, 3, in the water.
SAM: We are pretty far down the coastline, so we start scanning, and I see this little wooden box.
SAM: Is that it there? PAUL: Yes! Good job, Sam! SAM: Go.
PAUL: I'm not running through this.
SAM: Oh my god, Paul! PAUL: It's fine, Sam! SAM: I'm going.
PAUL: We're right here! I'll get you there in two seconds! SAM: Stop yelling, babe.
PAUL: No, you're yelling at me.
We're doing so well! SAM: Okay, I'm getting out.
Ready? SAM: Okay, we're good.
PAUL: Good job.
SAM: Alright, Paul, let's get back there and win this.
KENNETH: Okay, we're not getting anywhere right now.
RYAN: Is it easiest for us to canoe it, or no? KENNETH: Okay, we could, yeah.
Okay, you go on the right.
I'm on the left.
Put it in the thingy.
Put the thing in.
Use the thing.
PAUL: Good job.
We're ripping.
Those guys are canoeing.
Intersting tactic! KENNETH: Oh, ya! PAUL: Oh my god, that's so bad.
RYAN: [EXHALES.]
RYAN: Lemme know when you wanna switch sides.
ANDREA: There's a flag right there.
ADAM: Where? ANDREA: On the left.
ANDREA: Let's go.
Let's do this.
ANDREA: Hi! ADAM: Hello.
ANDREA: We get to the detour, we change into really cool outfits We have to listen to stories from the Viking gods so that we can correctly fill out their family tree.
ANDREA: Hello! ANDREA: We're gonna be good at this.
Our parents are Italian.
Family is everything! ADAM: Famiglia! ANDREA: Oh my god! ADAM: [LAUGHS.]
ANDREA: We are going to hear a story.
LOKI: I'm the trickster god, Loki.
I'm descended from the frost giant, Farbauti, and his wife, Laufey.
ANDREA: He just goes off.
ADAM: Blah, blah, blah! LOKI: With my giantess wife, Angrboda, I had three terrifying spawn: Hel, the goddess of the dead, Fenrir, the wolf, and Jormangandr, the sea serpent.
ANDREA: They're not easy names to remember.
There's no Bob, Bill, and Mark here.
There's Ragne and Jor.
Do you remember anything he said? ADAM: No, we're gonna go back now.
ANDREA: Okay, let's really listen to him.
ADAM: Of course.
BERT: Which one? KAREN: The Story.
BERT: Let's go, babe! EBONIE: Alrighty! Speed Bump.
ANDREA: That's us! JON: After arriving last on the previous leg, Andrea and Ebonie will have to complete a speed bump.
With a reputation as fearless warriors, the Vikings were masters of tactics and weaponry.
In this speed bump, Andrea and Ebonie must master the art of archery, as they try to this target, to reach a combined score of 25 points.
Once they've scored all their points, Andrea and Ebonie can keep on racing.
EBONIE: I always wanted to do archery! I'm gonna go first.
Oh my god, this is hard.
Aah! ARCHER: Pull back a little harder.
ANDREA: Pull, pull, pull, pull, pull! ANDREA: Oh! God! EBONIE: We need to get this done fast, so we can catch up to the other teams.
EBONIE: I don't understand why it's not going in.
ANDREA: I'm a yoga teacher, and there's a pose in yoga that's called Warrior 2, and I feel like it's exactly it without the leg stand.
Like, you're like, yaaa ARCHER: That's four! EBONIE: Yes! Girl, that was awesome! ANDREA: Rockin' this.
ARCHER: Now you have five! EBONIE: Good job! EBONIE: Ya! ANDREA: You got this, girl.
EBONIE: Come on! EBONIE: Yes! ANDREA: Ya! ANDREA: Girl, you're on fire! EBONIE: Practice makes perfect.
KAREN: There's the flag.
BERT: Good running, love! KAREN: There's Adam and Andrea.
KAREN: I'm so excited because I love costumes.
BERT: Yeah, we love play acting.
KAREN: Me lord! BERT: We shall choose the tree yonder to tell our tale of woe.
THOR: I'm Thor, the thunder god.
My wife is the fair-haired goddess Sif.
With Sif, I sired Magni and Modi.
KAREN: The wife is BERT: Sif.
KAREN: And he fathered Magni and Modi.
Magni and Modi.
Okay, let's go.
BERT: Okay, we're doing good.
KAREN: Yeah, we are.
LOKI: With my goddess wife Sirgyn, I had Narfi, and with my giantess wife Angroboda, I raised three terrifying spawn.
ADAM: Okay, thank you.
Okay, he had two wives, Sirgyn and Angroboda.
Here's Angroboda.
ANDREA: Okay.
And Sirgyn.
ADAM: he had one kid with one wife and three kids with the other one.
He's on this side, because there's one kid here, and then three kids here.
ANDREA: He has three kids with this girl.
ADAM: Yeah, now we have to find out the three names of the kids.
ANDREA: This guy was busy.
ADAM: [LAUGHS.]
KOREY: You see that? IVANA: Yes.
Awesome.
IVANA: Here's your hat.
KOREY: Goodbye! IVANA: Go past me slowly, slowly, so we don't tip.
KOREY: Whoa! IVANA: So we don't tip Slowly.
[LAUGHS.]
This is so not easy.
KOREY: The way you row a boat is like what you see in the movies.
IVANA: Yeah.
KOREY: So I have to move backwards, like this.
IVANA: Okay.
Now we got it.
KENNETH: You gotta keep paddling, dude.
You can't stop.
RYAN: Okay.
KENNETH: It's over there, dude.
RYAN: You wanna try double again, bro? KENNETH: Yeah, let's try it.
Double! RYAN: Righty a bit, righty a bit.
There we go.
Lefty.
A little bit of lefty, lefty, lefty.
KENNETH: No, no, no, righty, righty.
Yeah, righty.
RYAN: We're all good.
We're all good.
KENNETH: Yeah.
ANDREA: You just gotta take nice, deep breaths.
[EXHALES.]
Get it in.
Nice and slow ARCHER: 25! ANDREA: Woo! EBONIE: Ya! ANDREA: Feels awesome! EBONIE: Speed bump out of the way! ANDREA: Find the Dory! EBONIE: That's it! ANDREA: Now we can just focus on the other challenge and catch up to the next teams.
PAUL: 1, 2, 3, in the water.
1, 2, 3, in the water.
IVANA: We got a system.
You're doing great.
PAUL: Hey, guys.
Good rowing, Ivana.
IVANA: Thank you.
PAUL: [LAUGHS.]
SAM: Ivana looks like a Newfoundland princess, just kind of hanging out while Korey sweats it out and gets her to where she has to go.
IVANA: How did they get there so fast? PAUL: Let's bring it in.
SAM: Okay.
PAUL: Woo-hoo! SAM/PAUL: Face off, baby! JON: In this 150 challenge, teams will compete head-to-head.
And the result? It could dramatically change their position in the race.
This is the faceoff.
JON: The faceoff is a challenge where no team can move forward in the race until they've successfully won the game.
Scoring strikes since 1909, five-pin bowling was invented right here in Canada.
And here at Corner Brook Centre Bowl, teams will compete in this uniquely Canadian sport.
Each game consists of 10 rounds, known as frames.
Alternating frames, racers will throw three balls each, attempting to knock down as many pins as possible.
The team with the most points at the end of the 10th frame will win the faceoff and receive their next clue.
The team that loses the faceoff will have to wait for the next team to arrive before they can play again.
And the last team at the faceoff will have to wait out a pre-determined penalty before they can keep on racing.
SAM/PAUL: Let's go.
PAUL: We're heading to our first faceoff.
SAM: We're leaving in first place! SAM/PAUL: Woo-hoo-hoo! ANDREA: We need Odin's siblings.
ADAM: And who would that be, Andrea? It's not on there.
ANDREA: Look, siblings.
Parents, siblings.
ADAM: Oh, right, right, right.
ANDREA: You know? We're siblings.
ADAM: Yeah, yeah.
ANDREA: Yeah.
ANDREA: We're approaching it section by section.
ODIN: My brothers are Vili and Ve.
ADAM: There's Ve.
ANDREA: Let's just take a check right now.
ADAM: And where's Vili? There's Vili.
ADAM: Yeah, ask for a check.
ANDREA: Check, please! ADAM: Can we have a check, please? ODIN: You're good.
ADAM: Yes! [BOTH LAUGHING.]
ANDREA: Thank you, thank you! ADAM: Thank you! ADAM: Faceoff.
ANDREA: Good to meet you, and your whole family! KENNETH: See, doin' great, eh? Woo! Holy, good work, man.
KENNETH/RYAN: Faceoff! RYAN: We're going bowling, baby! KENNETH: Let's go get the boys, beat them at this faceoff! PAUL: Centre Bowl.
SAM: Yeah.
PAUL: It's right there, the bowling.
SAM: Oh, it's right here.
PAUL: That's what I said! PAUL: Change rooms.
SAM: The hard thing about a faceoff is that if you're in first going into it, you have to wait for that second team to get there.
IVANA: I see it.
KOREY: Stay here, okay? IVANA: Yeah.
IVANA: Got it, Kore? KOREY: Yeah.
KOREY: I know this is a race, but I gotta go.
IVANA: Break time for Korey! KOREY: Argh! IVANA: Everybody, break time for Korey! KOREY: Argh! IVANA: Okay! Enjoy the nature, Kore, enjoy the nature.
I'm just gonna hang out here.
KOREY: [SIGHS IN RELIEF.]
IVANA: It's very nice scenery.
How much did you drink?! ANDREA: Let's go on our boat.
[LAUGHS.]
Along the coast we go, my friend.
EBONIE: Okay, wait, wait, wait.
Ya! You have to go 'round.
ANDREA: That's what I'm trying to do.
There's something I'm not getting here.
EBONIE: Argh! KOREY: Historic.
IVANA: Okay KOREY: It's still going.
IVANA: Just cut it off! KOREY: Woo! Back! IVANA: Alright, let's fly back.
ANDREA: Corner Brook Centre Bowl.
ADAM: We're almost to the bowling alley, and all of the sudden I see Kenneth and Ryan.
RYAN: Hey, Adam and Andrea are in front of us.
ADAM/ANDREA: It's a race to the faceoff.
ANDREA: Go, go, go.
RYAN: Holy moly.
Whoever gets to the bowling alley first is gonna be in the first faceoff.
ANDREA: Did the boys go right? ADAM: No, they went left.
RYAN: Corner Brook Centre Bowl! KENNETH: Okay, perfect, perfect, perfect.
ADAM: Right here.
It's right here.
KENNETH: Where are we going? RYAN: The sign's right here! ADAM: Let's go.
KENNETH: It's gotta be in here, man.
KENNETH: Okay, perfect, perfect, perfect.
KENNETH: Where are we going? ADAM: Let's go.
KENNETH: it's gotta be in here, man.
ADAM: Here, Andrea, Andrea! Hurry up, hurry up! Come on, come on, come on! ANDREA: I'm coming! KENNETH: Come on, Ryan! Over here, quick! ADAM: This is ours.
Purple.
RYAN: We gotta get some shoes.
ADAM: Ready.
RYAN: Adam and Andrea beat us to the start line by one second.
We have to wait.
PAUL: We're up against Andrea and Adam in our first bowling match.
ADAM: Do you want to start or do you want me to start? ANDREA: You can go.
ADAM: I had many birthday parties that consisted of going to bowling alleys as a kid.
ADAM: Oh, boy.
ANDREA: Okay.
Oh, that's alright.
ANDREA: He loves bowling.
He's not necessarily good at it.
ANDREA: Try something different maybe, or slower.
Yeah, do your thing.
[GIGGLES.]
ANDREA: Alright! We'll take it! [LAUGHS.]
PAUL: Let's go, Sam.
Take your time.
Take your time.
PAUL: Sam gets into med school.
We crush the detour.
We want to win this faceoff so we can keep our lead.
PAUL: Good job.
BERT: These names down here, are they right? KAREN: Yeah.
Hymand, Hoder, Balder.
KAREN: Carved into these rocks, there are dummy names, and that makes it confusing.
KAREN: Hymand I'm gonna see if there's another one that looks like that.
BERT: Hermod.
KAREN: Ah We think that we have it now.
ODIN: No.
Do it again.
SAM: Come on, Paul.
SAM: Come on! Yeah! SAM: This game comes down to the last frame.
Andrea has to get a strike to keep it going.
ANDREA: What do I need? ADAM: Just get them down.
ANDREA: Knock 'em down.
ADAM: There you go There you go! ADAM/ANDREA: Oh! ANDREA: Man! PAUL: Good job.
BOWLER: Congratulations.
PAUL: Okay.
BOTH: Roadblock.
Who's da bomb? JON: Teams will make their way to Swirsky's Comedy Club.
JON: Known for their amazing wit, Newfoundlanders are some of the funniest people in the entire country.
In this roadblock, one team member will step up to the mic, tell some jokes, and wait for feedback.
[BOOING.]
JON: Here, racers will craft a comedy set by selecting and memorizing 12 jokes from a list of over 40.
Then they'll perform their set onstage to this local audience.
If racers stumble and lose the support of the audience, they'll know it.
Once they've got the crowd cracking up, Corner Brook native Trent McLellan will give them their next clue.
SAM: Okay, I'll do it.
Perform a stand-up comedy routine in front of a live audience without bombing to receive your next clue.
PAUL: Okay, your big break.
SAM: I'm pretty confident in my comedy ability.
RYAN: You got 'er, Kenny.
RYAN: In the second faceoff, we're up against Adam and Andrea.
KENNETH: Back in Collingwood, we go out with friends, five-pin bowl, a couple of beers.
It's a great night on the town.
KENNETH: Oh! RYAN: We can win this.
Easy! ANDREA: Good job, Adam.
Way to go.
KAREN: Trickster, have you been telling us lies? LOKI: I am the trickster god Loki, descended from the frost giant Farbauti and his wife Laufey.
BERT: Let's look at his parents.
Maybe I put the wrong one for Laufey.
KAREN: Lif.
Laufey.
It's this.
BERT: Yeah.
Okay.
KAREN: Check again! BERT: Yay! BOTH: Thank you! KAREN: Thank you, Odin.
BERT: Wow, I shook the hand of a god.
KAREN: Of a god, aaah! BERT: I am so humbled! KAREN: Faceoff, let's go! BERT: Let's do it, let's do it! KAREN: Thank you, Norse gods! KOREY: It's all core in this.
That's all it is.
IVANA: It's all core, that's what it is.
And once you realize how to do this properly, it's not even that bad.
IVANA: What do we got? KOREY: Faceoff! KOREY: Let's get out of here! Aah! IVANA: Thank you! EBONIE: There! ANDREA: Oh, ya, baby! Okay! ANDREA: We're gonna get there like a rocketship! Put your back into it.
Boom! SAM: Right ahead.
Right ahead.
SAM: Let's go, babe.
SAM: For this roadblock, I have to do a stand-up comedy gig with any 12 jokes from this list.
SAM: 247 car accidents a year involve moose SAM: There are about 50 jokes, and a lot of them are duds.
PAUL: Cool theatre.
Wow, don't throw these! [AUDIENCE LAUGHTER.]
PAUL: That would be mean! PAUL: This could be a ruthless crowd.
Should be good.
Hopefully Sam's funny! [LAUGHS.]
BERT: We should find the bowling alley roughly in that intersection.
KAREN: There it is.
BERT: Oh yeah, yeah.
KAREN: Let's go! KOREY: Right here, Centre Bowl.
IVANA: Let's go crush this.
IVANA: We get to the faceoff, and we realize we're fifth to arrive.
IVANA: I hate waiting.
KENNETH: This is the last frame.
KENNETH: Adam and Andrea are beating us right now.
KENNETH: Alright, you got it.
KENNETH: Ryan needs to get a strike.
RYAN: Ah! KENNETH: Oof.
KENNETH: Good game, guys.
Nice work.
ANDREA: We win the second faceoff.
ADAM/ANDREA: Roadblock.
ADAM: Who's da bomb? ANDREA: I'll do it.
ADAM: You got this, man! You have this! ANDREA: We just left the faceoff in second position.
That's pretty awesome.
KENNETH: Nice shot.
KENNETH: We lose to Adam and Andrea.
Now we have to face Karen and Bert.
KAREN: That one's good.
That one's good.
Good.
KENNETH: This sucks.
KENNETH: Oof, come on.
RYAN: Nice and slow, buddy.
KENNETH: Yeah.
EBONIE: Ya! We did it! ANDREA/EBONIE: Faceoff! ANDREA: Let's go bowling! ANDREA: A faceoff could save us at this point.
There's one team that has to wait for us to complete their faceoff.
ANDREA: Centre Bowl.
So, let's go rock this.
EBONIE: We see the Give'rs, Bert and Karen, Korey and Ivana.
We are still in this race! KAREN: This is so awesome! BERT: Ya! [STEEL DRUM MUSIC PLAYING.]
KAREN: We are on our last frame with Kenneth and Ryan.
We are up the entire game.
KAREN: Be smooth, boo.
BERT: You mean like this? KAREN: Oh, that's what I mean! KENNETH: Bert gets up for his last turn, and he's being cocky.
BERT: Alright, here we go.
KAREN: Yeah, show them! KENNETH: Gutter ball! BERT: Alright.
KAREN: Too much show will get you in trouble.
BERT: Argh! KAREN: Babe You can get it.
You can get all of them on this last ball.
BERT: We don't need this right now! Aah! KENNETH: You got this.
This is your time.
Your time! RYAN: Bert just blew it.
Now we have a chance.
RYAN: [EXHALES.]
KENNETH: Bert's last attempt, he gets three gutter balls, and now Ryan's up.
RYAN: [EXHALES.]
RYAN: If I get a strike, we win.
KAREN: Ooh! KENNETH: Yes! Ya! Nice! BERT: Ohh! KENNETH: Ya! Roadblock.
Who's da bomb? RYAN: You da bomb! KENNETH: Ya, baby, ya! IVANA: You got it.
You got it.
Super smooth.
BERT: I'm very vexed with myself over that last one.
We're gonna take this one.
IVANA: Yes! IVANA: Good.
KAREN: [SIGHS.]
ANDREA: In here, in here.
Ah Twelve jokes.
Oh my god, so bad but so good.
I think I'm funnier than Sam, hell ya.
SAM: We'll see! ANDREA: [LAUGHS.]
SAM: The pressure is on, now that there's another team here at the stand-up roadblock.
SAM: I'm gonna try.
TRENT: Alright, Corner Brook, are you ready to get this thing started or what? [CHEERS & APPLAUSE.]
SAM: I'm going up for my first attempt.
I think I have it down.
We'll see.
TRENT: Give it up for Sam! TRENT: Have fun.
SAM: Thank you.
SAM: Thank you! [SEINFELD MUSIC PLAYING.]
SAM: Avocado prices have risen drastically in Canada.
I actually went recently to buy some and holy guacamole! [LAUGHTER.]
SAM: Do you know that in Canada, 247 car accidents a year involve moose, but no one's really sure how they ever pass their driver's exam.
Those moose, man, they can drive.
[LAUGHTER.]
ANDREA: Oh god, he's good! SAM: And finally, I'm sure you all know, but the Newfoundland flag has four colours.
The white represents the ice and snow, the blue represents the beautiful sea around us, the red represents the hard work and struggle of its people, and the gold is the sun that comes out only about three times a year.
[LAUGHTER.]
SAM: Thank you very much.
[CHEERS & APPLAUSE.]
TRENT: Congratulations.
You're ready to rock, brother! Give it up for Sam, everybody! PAUL: You were so good! SAM: Route Info.
Drive yourselves to the Captain James Cook Historic Site Lookout and search for Jon at your next pit stop.
Warning, the last team to check in may be eliminated.
JON: Teams will now make their way to the statue of Captain James Cook, the man who mapped Newfoundland's rugged coast.
Here, overlooking Corner Brook and the Bay of Islands, teams will find the seventh pit stop on The Amazing Race Canada.
The last team to check in here may be eliminated.
PAUL: [LAUGHS.]
You were so good! That was the best thing I've ever seen! ANDREA: Oh! Twelve jokes? I can't remember all this! RYAN: Hey-hey! ANDREA: Oh my god, Kenneth and Ryan just showed up.
KENNETH: These jokes are your classic dad jokes.
RYAN: Kenneth's memorization is very, very good.
I think he'll be fine.
ADAM: Come on, Andrea.
ANDREA: Ready, ready, ready.
TRENT: Alright, gonna bring up your next comedian.
Give it up for Andrea! [CHEERS & APPLAUSE.]
ANDREA: I hope you are drinking 'cause it'll make me funnier, that's for sure.
[LAUGHTER.]
ANDREA: My heart's beating pretty fast right now.
I don't normally do this.
But I do know that women's hearts do beat faster because men are so annoying, and like, we're always stressed out.
[LAUGHTER.]
ANDREA: So, oh boy.
Yeah, so du-dum [BOOING.]
ANDREA: I'll be back! I forgot a joke! KAREN: I'm over the last game, but now I'm stressing about this one.
We are in our last frame.
KOREY: Alright, [INAUDIBLE.]
! KAREN: The game is so tight.
KAREN: Friggin' end up last out of this.
BERT: No, we won't.
You think they're gonna bowl better than us? KAREN: They are right now.
KOREY: It's good! KAREN: You're kidding! KOREY: It's good! KAREN: Alright, babe.
Get that.
If Bert gets a strike right now, we win.
So, that's what he's gonna do.
KAREN: That's what he did! Woo! KAREN: Perfect timing.
Everything that happened at the last game is forgiven.
KAREN: Bert's da bomb! BERT: I'm da bomb, baby! KAREN: Oh my gosh! IVANA: Bert ends up getting his miracle, and now we are stuck playing against Andrea and Ebonie.
ANDREA: Go, girl.
Rock your strut.
EBONIE: Okay.
ANDREA: Ah EBONIE: Oh, no! EBONIE: We want to beat Korey and Ivana.
They U-turned us.
We want to leave them behind.
PAUL: Yes! Best sight ever! [PANTING.]
Woo! MAN: Welcome to the Bay of Islands in Newfoundland and Labrador! SAM/PAUL: Thank you.
JON: Sam and Paul You're team number one! BOTH: Ya! [LAUGHING.]
Woo! SAM: This is our second win of the race.
What an amazing feeling! JON: As the winners of this leg of the race, you have won a trip for two to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil! PAUL: Ya! [BOTH LAUGHING.]
JON: That's not the only sweet news you got today, is it? SAM: Oh, my gosh.
Today has been the best day of my life! Took a big risk, applied to med school I found out today that I got in.
It's like a dream come true.
I'm so happy.
JON: Congratulations, Sam.
See you on the next leg.
SAM: Thank you very much.
PAUL: Thanks, guys.
KENNETH: It's springtime here in Newfoundland, which means only 30 more days until you can take off your winter tires.
[LAUGHTER.]
KENNETH: And Oh! [BOOING.]
KENNETH: Tough crowd here in Corner Brook.
[LAUGHTER.]
TRENT: Alright.
You loved her earlier.
She's back for her second set of the night.
Give it up for Andrea! [CHEERS & APPLAUSE.]
ANDREA: Hi, everyone.
My heart is still beating really fast.
[LAUGHTER.]
Um, hm [BOOING.]
ANDREA: Okay, okay! [BOOING.]
ANDREA: This is hard! KAREN: Here we are.
BERT: Let's do this! BERT: Hi.
KAREN: Good luck, babe.
BERT: Thank you.
KAREN: He's a performer; that's what he does best, so I hope that plays to our advantage here, but I know he's nervous.
BERT: By the age of 60, they say most people are gonna lose their taste buds.
But they make up for it by turning up the volume on the TV.
You know, you lose your taste, you increase your hearing.
[CHUCKLES.]
Man.
EBONIE: This faceoff is all about last place.
We do not want to lose.
EBONIE: That's good [SCREAMS.]
That was awesome! ANDREA/EBONIE: Ya! IVANA: Don't worry, Korey.
I'm gonna strike it.
KOREY: Yes, baby! KOREY: Yes, baby! Ooh! Yes! IVANA: Roadblock.
Who's da bomb? I'll do it.
KOREY: You da bomb.
IVANA: We left Andrea and Ebonie behind.
BOWLER: Your time starts now.
ANDREA: We lost, and now we have to wait.
There's another challenge upcoming.
Anything can happen.
We're still in the game.
BERT: Newfoundland, Newfoundland and Labrador is so windy that earlier today, I saw a seagull flying with his eyes closed.
Crazy! I need to get over that jitter.
Alright, I'll go try it.
Get ready to see a butchering.
TRENT: Give it up for Bert, everybody! [CHEERS & APPLAUSE.]
BERT: I'm good, I'm good.
It must have been the tomato juice.
[LAUGHTER.]
BERT: So, I'm here in Newfoundland, and it's really windy, right? Like I saw a seagull flying backwards with his eyes open Eyes closed.
A seagull flying backwards with his eyes closed! Yeah, I guess I'm not as ready as I thought.
[BOOING.]
[BOOING.]
IVANA: I got this.
Twelve jokes.
IVANA: I'm gonna learn this, give it a shot, and get out.
I'm focused.
Ha-ha, hilarious.
[GIGGLES.]
KENNETH: Let's do it.
Let's do it.
KENNETH: I'm back, Jack, to see if you guys show me a little more love.
Newfoundland and Labrador has the oldest average age of any other province because people love living here! Or they just can't find where they put their plane tickets.
[LAUGHTER.]
TRENT: You know what? I'm gonna do it.
We're gonna do it.
You're going, my man! KENNETH: Oh! Thank you! RYAN: Ya! Ha-ha! ANDREA: Uh Kenneth and Ryan just left.
RYAN: You killed it, dude! We're in second! We just jumped ahead of Adam and Andrea! ANDREA: I'm stressing! EBONIE: Okay, okay.
Who's da bomb? I am! ANDREA: Can't wait to see your show, girl! I wanna laugh! EBONIE: We're last, but my memory is pretty awesome, so I'm feeling actually really confident about this challenge.
ANDREA: You're looking for Broadway on your right.
Think show, Broadway.
EBONIE: Ya.
KENNETH: Ya, buddy! RYAN: Alright, whoa! JON: Kenneth and Ryan, you're team number two.
KENNETH/RYAN: Ya! KENNETH: Yes! RYAN: Ya, dude! KENNETH: It has been since leg one since we've won a leg of this race.
We're taking second place like it's a win for us.
KENNETH: Awesome, dude.
ANDREA: This is your show! This is your time! ANDREA: Avocado prices are just rising so dramatically.
Holy guacamole! Du-du-du-ching! TRENT: She plays here all the time.
This is her fourth time playing this place.
She loves playing here.
Give it up for Andrea, everybody! [CHEERS & APPLAUSE.]
ANDREA: Okay! So, women make up 50.
9% of the population.
I don't know what's more surprising, is that men are less than women, or that someone is maybe a .
9.
[LAUGHTER.]
ANDREA: Prince Philip has just turned 95, and he retired.
You know, 95 is actually the age where Canadians can afford to retire.
[LAUGHTER & APPLAUSE.]
ANDREA: Finally! The crowd loves me! ADAM: She's pretty funny.
ANDREA: I'm funny.
TRENT: Give it up for her, everybody.
ANDREA: Thank you, guys! TRENT: She stuck with it! Sometimes if you stick through it long enough, and do the same exact jokes exactly the same, the crowd laughs less, actually.
But that's just a fact of life.
ADAM: You were so funny! ANDREA: Oh my god! BERT: I'm as ready as I could be I think.
TRENT: Bert, everybody! Give it up for him! [CHEERS & APPLAUSE.]
BERT: So, Newfoundland and Labrador is so windy that I saw a seagull flying with his eyes closed.
The craziest thing.
[LAUGHTER.]
TRENT: This is yours.
KAREN: Ya, ya! TRENT: There it is, baby! Oh! [CHEERS & APPLAUSE.]
BERT: Ba-da-da-ba-da-bump BOTH: Bow! ANDREA: There he is.
Yes! JON: Adam and Andrea, you guys are team number three.
ANDREA: Ya! [LAUGHING.]
KAREN: It's Captain James Cook! Woo! JON: Karen and Bert, you guys are team number four.
BERT: Uh-huh.
KAREN: Ya! KAREN: Mm-hm.
Do that dance now.
Now is when you dance! BERT: [LAUGHING.]
KAREN: Better than in bowling! JON: [LAUGHING.]
IVANA: So, spring's finally here in Newfoundland.
That means only 30 more days until you can take off your winter tires.
EBONIE: Okay, are you guys ready for my last joke? KOREY: It's between Team Panda and Andrea and Ebonie facing elimination.
EBONIE: I'm gonna try.
EBONIE: I need to destroy this set or we're going home.
TRENT: Give it up for Ebonie! [CHEERS & APPLAUSE.]
EBONIE: Did you know that a woman's heart actually beats faster than a man's heart? EBONIE: Everything is on the line right now.
If I don't get this, this is it.
EBONIE: Another interesting fact Um, your cholester no.
Um [BOOING.]
EBONIE: Okay.
IVANA: What's goin' on, gang? There's been a study that just came out.
This study says that actually eating saturated fats does not cause heart disease But you know what does? Talking about these studies.
[LAUGHTER.]
IVANA: Thank you! KOREY: Yes! TRENT: How do you feel you did? IVANA: I did great! TRENT: How do you think you did? IVANA: I think I did alright! TRENT: There you go.
IVANA: [SCREAMING.]
IVANA: [LAUGHING.]
Let's go, let's go! Thank you, guys! KOREY: Woo! EBONIE: I'm on the verge of crying.
I know that it's the end.
KOREY: Ya! IVANA: Let's go! KOREY: Hey! [EXHALES.]
JON: Korey and Ivana, you guys are team number five.
KOREY: [EXHALES.]
The suspense, bro! IVANA: This has to be the end of us fighting for last place.
KOREY: Why does this keep happening?! IVANA: [LAUGHING.]
I don't know! KOREY: Why does it keep happening, man? ANDREA: Alright.
EBONIE: So sad.
[SIGHS.]
EBONIE: [SIGHS.]
JON: Andrea and Ebonie, you are the last team to arrive.
ANDREA/EBONIE: Yup.
JON: I'm sorry to tell you this, but you have been eliminated from the race.
EBONIE: Today was really hard, but I am still proud of us, and keeping our heads high.
ANDREA: Every risk you could ever take on this race, we took them, and we're proud of it.
We wouldn't change anything.
EBONIE: Yeah.
ANDREA: Our friendship was strong, but this just made it so much stronger.
EBONIE: You mean the world to me, and I love you.
ANDREA: Aw I love you too, girl! JON: Next time, on The Amazing Race Canada KAREN: Fly to Panama City, Panama! BERT: What?! JON: Teams fly south and feel the heat in Panama City, Panama RYAN: Back to the tropics, baby! KOREY: Ow! JON: where a detour has some teams punch drunk ALL: Cheers! PAUL: Aah! JON: And others hitting their stride.
IVANA: We can get first place today, no doubt.
JON: while a roadblock has teams chasing a kaleidoscope of colours.
RYAN: Looking for four butterflies.
KOREY: Geeze.
KAREN: Argh! JON: leaving some stuck in a holding pattern.
KAREN: I don't know what to do.
I messed up! JON: For more information on race play and the racers, go to ctv.
